For the longest time, I have wanted to know where the most part of sbg is set. Idk if the location has been released before and I'm just dumb but I have never come across it in the webtoon, tumblr or red's insta, (edit i also checked the wiki and they only knew of the sorrel weed house) so I assumed it was never stated.
i never was able to try and find it until i was scrolling through tumblr and saw this picture.
Despite seeing this multiple time I had never noticed the bus route map in the corner, so I took a screenshot of it and went to google lens in hope that it was a clue to where it may be set.
To my suprise something did show up! If this is correct than sbg is set somewhere called harrisonburg, VA but to confirm i compared it to the other only real world example in the sbg universe, the sorrel weed house. (btw the sorrel weed house is real haunted house)
according to mr thomas it takes eight hours to get to the savanna (which is two minutes away from the sorrel weed house) so i grabbed google once more and compared those times on google maps.
and according to google it does take about an hour to get to the savannah so it safe to assume that sbg is set in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
(Edit: after I got few comments that sbg was actually set in alto Georgia I looked into it and oops I was wrong. sbg is set in alto Georgia.
Still it's a bit odd because between alto Georgia and savanna Georgia, there is a four hour travel time and also the bus route is set somewhere eight hours away.
Like sbglover4ever said in the comments it might be some sort of foreshadowing, otherwise this is wrong, still it was fun researching this!!)
A while ago, when I was rereading sbg, I noticed that there is a rly good chance that Baron and his friends might be in the phantom dimension.
Rly early on in the first season when the main group go to the arcade, they get into a fight with Baron and his friends trying to help Noah.
During this scene, a small rift to the phantom dimension is opened while they are fighting.
This rift is almost the exact same as the rift that was created in the episode where ashlyn was attacked by an infected human. A few episodes later, it is confirmed that she did pull a few workers into the phantom dimension from this rift.
So from this, we can safely assume that ashlyn can pull people into the phantom dimension. So what if she did end up pulling someone in earlier? What if this person was none other than everybody's least favourite person, Baron?
Like, imagine if later on in the story the two groups bump into each other in the phantom world and have to either fight it out or become allies and work together.
Idk, but I think it has just too much potential for red to not do anything with it, and this would be a rly good plot point seeing the kids are out of the facility now.
im rereading sbg and im at the part of ashlyns birth when her parents had the first ever encounter with a phantom
do you guys think the phantom didnt really look like it wanted to hurt anyone? because to me it looked more curious rather then threatening.
like in the second picture it looked like it just wanted to touch ashlyn instead of hurt her or hurt anyone.
or maybe im reaching idk what do yall think
oh and it didnt try to fight back when mike stabbed it
I rly don't like it, but I'm starting to think that the parents are going to have to die or get separated from the main six at some point in escaping the facility for the plot to continue.
A big idea of sbg is people who don't know each other, having to work together to survive and become friends alone the way. It becomes an entirely different story when you add parents to the mix.
Also, it would really inconvent for them to have to move around with an extra ten people.
Either way, I just can't see the plot continuing with the parents joining them in the escape.
(Btw I'm not a fastpasser so I have no idea what happens when they do escape 😅)

Not to demonize Ben's parents,
BUT, if someone like MAVERICK can admit the adults in his life failed him, I can too.
This drives me insane.
I have SO many questions.
Why did Shane want Ben to be in his group? Yes, he's tall and intimidating, but surely he's not the only one in their grade who fits that description. How long did this go on for? Aiden said It happened "every day," but how many days is that? How come Aiden literally can't remember if this happened in 6th or 7th grade? Where did the bullying take place? At school? How did he leave the building with those injuries without an adult noticing that something was wrong? How come his parents didn't say anything to the school board when their son came home, covered from head to toe in bruises? And if they did, why was nothing done?
"Clownin44, that's a little harsh. Give them the benefit of the doubt!"
He (11-13 year old boy) was sneaking out of the house, coming home late, and getting into STREET fights. The main and only reason he stopped was because he put his family in danger, and while I understand you can't help someone who won't accept help, they had EVERY opportunity to help him before it got to that point. He is a child. They are his parents. What if Ben never fought with the young boy whose older brother was in a gang? How long would this have gone on for? I don't know if you know anything about street fighting, but experience matters. This wasn't an act of rebellion. This was incredibly dangerous.
The worst part about it all is that Shane got what he wanted. Sure, Ben didn't join his group, but he did "fix" what he thought was wrong with Ben and inadvertently taught him how to fight. He wasn't expelled for putting him in the hospital. He wasn't expelled for bullying him or for getting his "group" to gang up on him, too. Shane was still in school by the time Ben recovered, and he would've continued to go to school with him if he hadn't moved in with his aunt and uncle. The entire thing was a disaster from start to finish.
Now, consider this; Ben has a younger sister he is incredibly protective of that he doesn't get to see very often. He physically can't be there for her if she ends up going through the same things he did. How can he trust that their parents won't fail her, like they failed him?
side note; the fact that we don't see Ben interacting with his parents, while Lily is basically racing into his arms, hurts me so bad. ARE THEY NOT CONCERNED? DO THEY NOT MISS HIM? DID I MISS A PANEL OF THEM OR SOMETHING? GOSH!!!
I get that it might not be that serious, and we never got to see how his parents handled the situation, so maybe they really were just doing their best, but I had to rant about this because I'm sooo sick and TIRED!!
