I didn't like Tom Hardy dying.

Thank you.
That’s the new handshake for 2019.
I agree. There was a moment when they got married that Tommy looked doubtful almost unhappy. That expression on his face was there once more before Grace died. I don't think they really loved each other and the show should really let go of her.
Unpopular opinion but Grace was such a non character when she was actually alive and neither she nor Tommy actually added anything to the other's character, I never got the impression that Grace knew or understood Tommy that I'm just ready to move on. Her presence this season is abrupt to me because the show did a terrible job portraying why exactly Tommy would continue to pine for her (since season 2) there was literally nothing of substance to that relationship. It's time to let that character go.
I binge watched The Bear in 2 days and here are my thoughts on the whole SydCar romantic discourse :
Are they platonic, work -spouse soulmates who get each other on a molecular level? YES. Absolutely. They are practically the same people, it's just Sydney is better at managing her shit than Carmen. They manage to finish each other's creative thoughts about recipes and menus, they can keep each other in check and they respect each other. They sync on a level that is magical.
While, I personally, would prefer the platonic love between a man and a woman be explored quite wholesome-ly in this show, I also get why a lot of ppl are shipping them. They have insane, electric chemistry. So could they have a romantic relationship? sure. Anything can work there. They just fit together, that good. In any case we get more Sydney-Carmen interaction and I enjoy that immensely.
Also side note the cameos are fucking insane in this show and epi 6 of S2 blew my fucking mind. It was a fever dream with the most random famous actors ever and the most chaotic family dinner portrayed on tv.
The tatts on the men with biceps...help me lord 🥵
This show is fucking good.
I saw the reviews. And I hadn't watched the movie, so I had decided to watch it myself and form my own opinions. But if this is what the director says then, I have no intention of watching it.
This is gross misuse of their ability to entertain and tell stories. Of creating art. What he has created is so misleading and there will always be ppl who don't know how to differentiate between reality and entertainment. And they will take inspiration from this "art" especially in a traditionally patriarchal society that is still prominent in India.
This is not a feminist rant. This is about how toxicity in relationships and treating individuals is masked whether it's race, gender, caste, sexuality and how media plays a powerful role in it. Love can not be disrespectful and hurtful at all. Relationships do not require you to have physical dominance over one another.
This is just absolutely sad and I hope this man experiences healthy and mutual love and respect.
Season 1 was innocent in many ways. In the way Grace behaved, in the way Tommy operated. He is ruthless but it was with caution. It really sticks to your heart you know season 1 and even after the betrayal. Also Helen Mcrory is just a queen.
Season 2 is good. The story line is done well. Tommy is a reckless businessman and so direct to the point, it's like his sensitivity to his family members is somewhat lost. Helen Mcrory is queen and the Shelby boys start becoming endearing to you even after all the shit they do.
Season 3 is a fucking emotional roller coaster. It is so intense it's going to take some time, getting used to, after the season ends. Shelby's world has becoming very bloody and dangerous, characters are walking on the edge almost literally sometimes. Also Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons, nails the character in this season.
Season 4 has no rules. Everything is game here. Tommy seems a bit wiser in here and so does Arthur. And ambitions.
I usually get attached to heroine's character but I kind of didn't get attached to Grace Shelby. Even though they are in love, there is something wrong about their relationship, something you can't put a finger on.
Polly is just honestly the heart of the business. She knows everything whether it's because she has gypsy blood or because she is very observant, it doesn't matter. I aspire to be her honestly.
Alfie Solomons. He is a bad gangster but I like him.
Lastly Tommy Shelby. He is intricate and amazing. He does bad things but you will still like him and see him in a good light. You will root for him and he won't let you down even if he lets down his family.
