“Under our eyes without warning softly the summer afternoon let fall The rose upon the wall, And it lay there splintered. Terribly then into my heart the forgotten anguish entered.”
— Edna St. Vincent Millay, from There At Dusk I Found You in “Collected Poems Of Edna St. Vincent Millay”
I think a lot about gaining weight as a form of healing
Wake up early. Not because “the early bird catches the worm.” Not to force yourself to be more productive. Not to “rise and grind” your life away.
Do it for entirely the opposite reasons.
Give yourself a chance to slow down before the hurriedness of the day envelopes your thoughts and your body. Do the thing that relaxes you. Do the thing you love that you never have time to do. Allow yourself to be still and intentionally prepare for the day ahead.
Wake up early to find your magic, and use it to forge through your day.
eat a fruit that you like. take a little walk and pay attention to the trees. dance to music alone in ur room. it’s the small things that will heal you
so what if im in love with you mind ur own business
A comic about the spectrum of responses to stress - we talk alot about the more extreme ends of this and trauma, but the more subtle and every day responses can be harder to spot. if we can understand our own and other’s responses better, problems Are easier to confront and blaming is less likely to happen :) hope it’s helpful!!
