So Danny goes inside the portal and to fix it (maybe he has some small energy quirk that he thinks will power it/or he's just quirkless), and gets ghost powers. Danny sees what AFO is doing is wrong and keeps his powers a secret so he can start putting a stop to him

the best part about this is actually how it ties to DP and sets itself in the BNHA universe. I could see this happening and it seems perfect!
