feeling the need to post again about this. i'm standing with every single person who is protesting for palestine right now. especially all the people at these universities setting up encampments and having guns and police brigades pointed towards them. these are PEACEFUL protests and should not be threatened with tear gas, force, or even snipers pointed at them. palestine needs our voices more than ever. we're nearing 50K marytered palestinians when there shouldn't have even been 1.
if you personally cannot protest in public for whatever reason it may be, at least voice your support for protesters who are and also voice your support for palestinians. they need your voice. their voices are getting silences constantly online whether through suppression or the IOF marytering them along with everyone else.

If you don’t know, one of the first ideas for how to keep people away from nuclear waste 10000 years from now was to create a breed of cat that would change color if it got near radiation and create lore and songs to go with them that would be remembered long after people forgot what nuclear waste was the same way people still have thousand of years old religions that tell us to do stuff but we forgot why. They made a song for them and everything.
One, why haven’t they showed up in more futuristic fiction? Two, why have I never seen a ray cat furry? Three, why did they pick an animal that is THE MOST likely to wander off instead of one we have more control over like horses or dogs?

with bds calling for an official boycott of eurovision, one of the things they have asked is for “supporters to launch creative, strategic initiatives that can pressure broadcasters to withdraw” and so i encourage all those whose countries are participating in eurovision to find out how to contact your national broadcaster to make a complaint. for those living in countries who dont broadcast eurovision i know u can still send a complaint to the bbc if ur outside the uk for one

Dear sir/ma'am,
In 2022, following the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine, pressure was applied to the Eurovision Song Contest to bar Russia from competing that year and all years since. It was widely rightfully agreed that the invasion was worthy of strong condemnation and that Russia should be given no avenues to rehabilitate its public image.
In October 2023, the state of Israel began a military campaign against the people of the already occupied Gaza Strip in Palestine. In a disproportionate, atrocious response to the Hamas attack on the 7th of October 2023, Israeli forces have murdered over 30,000 Palestinians and displaced almost 2 million from their homes. Palestinian civilians (journalists and doctors included), entirely unaffiliated with the Hamas party Israel claims to target, have been targeted and killed indiscriminately. Stripped of basic necessities like food, water and electricity by Israel, with intent vocalised by multiple Israeli forces to eliminate Gaza and the Palestinian people, this is no less than a genocide.
Thus Israel, much like Russia, should not be permitted to compete in a contest that has been used repeatedly to maintain its pristine public image while it brutally oppresses Palestine. Especially when it has been charged with genocide explicitly by South Africa, a case that took place in the ICJ, thoroughly elucidating the crimes committed by the Israeli state, a charge agreed upon by several countries and genocide scholars alike.
The BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement has called for a complete boycott of Eurovision by broadcasters, artists and viewers and I ask that the BBC comply with this - abstain from broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest and withdraw this years entry to the contest.

The Palestine branch of the rights group Defense for Children International has said that a 17-year-old was killed by Israeli forces near the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank this morning, noting that he was shot in the back.
“Bashar Nihad Abdulatif Hanani, 17, was shot in the back by Israeli forces around 1am this morning during a military incursion into the Palestinian town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank,” the group said in a report on the incident.
“Bashar was standing on a wall near the Friendship Medical Center, allegedly throwing stones towards Israeli soldiers located about 25 to 35 meters [82 to 115 feet] away. Israeli forces fired live ammunition toward Bashar, causing him to fall from the wall, which was about 1.5 meters [5 feet] tall. Palestinian paramedics carried Bashar into the medical center, then transferred him in an ambulance to Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus.
