Here’s the thing: maybe I’ll stop being mad about The Magicians when I find another piece of media with a depressed, bisexual protagonist who deals with suicidal thoughts and talks about it openly, and their issues with mental health are a significant part of their character without running their story completely, who uses fiction escapism as a coping mechanism, who loves things unabashedly, and whose strength ultimately lies in their capacity for compassion and their sense of empathy. 

But when’s that going to happen?
