š¬ Just a Small Update, and a Big Thank You
Dear friends, kind hearts, and everyone who has stood with us,
When I first opened my heart to the world and shared our story, I never imagined the amount of love and solidarity we would receive. Thanks to your incredible support, weāve now reached $12,837āa milestone that brings real light to some very dark days.
From the deepest corners of my heart, thank you.
As many of you know, Iāve lost 25 of my loved ones during this devastating war. That grief lives with me every single day. Itās in the silence that once held laughter, in the empty spaces where we once gathered as a family.
But through your help, Iāve also felt something else: hope. And that hope is priceless.
ā21/Oct/2023 Before It Reached Us: The Day Our Neighborās House Was Destroyedā A quiet moment of fear, filmed just before everything changed.
ā22/Oct/2023 The Morning After: Our Family Home in Ruinsā This is what was left behind after the bombing of our home.
Despite everything, weāre still here. Still surviving. Still hoping.
But things have only gotten harder.
The war has returned, more brutal than beforeāand for over a month now, Gaza has been completely sealed off. No food is coming in. No medical supplies. No aid. No trade. No one is allowed to leave, and no one is allowed to enter.
Weāre trapped.
š We live with the fear of tomorrow, every single day. Airstrikes, drones, and the uncertainty of what might happen next. šØāš©āš§ Our family is forever changedāwe havenāt just lost people; weāve lost pieces of ourselves. š Basic needs go unmetāeven clean water feels like a luxury now. Medicines, if they exist at all, are unreachable.
And yetā¦
Your support reminds us that weāre not forgotten. It reminds us that someone, somewhere, is still listening. That someone still cares. That weāre not completely alone in this.
Every message. Every share. Every dollar. It tells us: Youāre walking this road with us. And that gives us the strength to keep going.
If youāve already donatedāthank you beyond words. If you can share our story again, it could reach someone who can help.
Even $5 means warmth, comfort, and a chance to breathe a little easier.
This isnāt just about reaching a fundraising goal. Itās about surviving war with dignity. Itās about believing in tomorrow. Itās about making sure my daughter grows up knowing that the world did not look away.
Thank you for your kindness, patience, and belief in our humanity. Youāve helped me find my voiceāand I will use it to keep hope alive.
Thereās something I need to sayāsomething thatās been on my heart for some time.
When I first began sharing our story, I didnāt know what the right way was. I was scared, grieving, and trying to protect my family in any way I could. I reached out to many people, hoping someone, anyone, would see us. In that process, I now realize I may have overstepped, and I might have made some feel overwhelmed.
If that happened, I am truly sorry.
Please believe me when I say it was never out of disregard or pushiness. It came from a place of fearāfear of being forgotten, fear of not being able to keep my family safe, fear of watching everything I love slip away in silence.
Iām learning as I go. Iāve slowed down. Iām more mindful now, trying to share our journey in a way that feels respectful of the space and hearts of those listening.
If my words ever came at the wrong time, or in the wrong way, I hope you can understand where they came fromāand I hope you can forgive me.
Thank you for seeing past my mistakes. Thank you for still being here. It means more than I can ever explain.
With love and endless gratitude, Mosab and family ā„ļø
Please help me rebulid my Bakery
I'm Ismail Almughanni an entrepreneur from devastated Gaza trying his best to rebuild his Bakery šš„š„
On a quiet morning, the aroma of freshly baked bread filled the street, signaling the start of a new day at your small bakery, a place you took immense pride in. For years, this bakery had been a haven where people from all around would gather to enjoy the warm, delicious pastries and bread that you carefully crafted. It was a symbol of hard work, a beacon of hope, and a destination for anyone seeking a taste of comfort amidst life's challenges.
But one day, in the blink of an eye, everything changed. The sounds of bombing began to shake the city, and it wasnāt long before the fires of war reached your neighborhood. There was no warning, no chance to escape or save what you could. Shells rained down on the district that housed your beloved bakery. You watched helplessly from a distance, unable to do anything.
Minutes passed like hours. When the noise finally subsided, and the thick smoke that blocked out the sun began to clear, you looked towards your cherished place. It was destroyed.
The walls that once protected you and brought you closer to your customers had collapsed, and the oven where you had kindled the flames of hope had turned to ash. Everything was shattered, broken, as if that place had never been a sanctuary of peace and comfort.
But the destruction wasnāt just physical. The pain in your heart was far greater than any material loss, a place filled with beautiful memories now reduced to rubble. The moments when you saw smiles on peopleās faces as they savored your bread, the laughter that echoed through the bakeryāthose were now just memories, dissolving in the ashes of devastation.
As days went by, you tried to piece together the fragments, not just of the bakery but of yourself as well. You knew rebuilding wouldnāt be easy, and the wounds left by the war wouldnāt heal quickly. But you also knew that the hope you had infused into your bread would remain alive in your heart, even if the tables and chairs were destroyed, even if the bakery itself was gone.
The bakery may have been destroyed by war, but its spirit lives on in you, in everyone who tasted your bread, and in everyone who walked into that small place and found a slice of happiness.
šØTake a moment to imagine your child or loved one. What would you do for them? How far would you go to protect them and shield them from pain, loss and despairšØ
I am Marwa, a mother of three girls, Belasan, Joan and Nada, ages 7 to 14. šššI will take a moment to share my story.š¢š£
My children and I lived under bombardment and aggression. We had a safe home full of dreams and a bright future for my daughters.
But everything changed when the war on Gaza began. Our house, which we built with strength and effort before the war, was destroyed.
We lost our job, which was our only source of income. The journey of displacement and moving from one place to another began without the minimum necessities of life. We faced difficulties in providing healthy food and clean water. We lived in fear and terror. My daughters could no longer sleep from the intensity of fear.
My mother-in-law suffers from serious lung infections and chronic diseases, and we find it difficult to provide appropriate treatment for her, especially in the winter and the bitter cold. She is part of our family after losing her husband. We are now without shelter, moving from one place to another, and struggling to survive. Today we have no income, no life, and no work. We are determined to rebuild our dreams, secure our future, and rebuild our home. We cannot do this alone and we need your help in building our lives. Your support, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us find hope on our journey.
