Wouldn't it be nice to look back on a Pride Month full of hopeful queer joy instead of anxiety over the fear of being queerbaited?

Come what may.

Even though there's still a season 5 to look forward to, this could be the last month we have to savor this hopeful uncertainty and the thrill of asking "what if?"

Maybe we should ignore the rumors and leaks and naysayers that seem to never shut the f**k up and take ownership of this fandom conversation and do things our way and on our terms for this last month before Stranger Things 4 Part 2. No matter what happens, we can enjoy this month on our terms.

me trying to figure out how between the ages of 18-26 buck went to college for some period of time, spent 6 months as a bartender in South America, did some amount of navy seal training, worked in construction, was a cowboy (?????), moved across the country from Pennsylvania to California, and completed EMT/firefighter training

There are two basic arguments for shutting the fuck up about cishets at Pride.

First: What if a trans kid asks their parents to show their support by attending Pride with them? What if a lesbian can only attend pride if she gets a ride from someone and the only person willing and able to drive her is her straight brother? What if a bi disabled person can't attend a large outdoor event without hands-on assistance from their straight partner? What if someone just wants to bring their fucking friends? What if, contrary to popular tumblr discourse, most queers don't inhabit perfectly pure social bubbles populated only by other queers?

Second and perhaps more important: If you think you can tell that someone is CIS, let alone HET, by LOOKING at them, you are a cop and an idiot.

One day Joyce and Ted met each other at Joyce's work so Joyce to bring up conversation said "Who knew one of my kids would date one of your kids" (talking about Jonathan and Nancy).

Ted thinking she meant Will and Mike (who aren't even dating) replied "I totally saw it coming, since they were in kindergarten or so."

And Joyce would be like 'You did?' not being able to believe it because she didn't notice anything back then.

Minutes later they say goodbye really confused because they were talking about different people the whole time without knowing it.
