Megumi not wanting to live is valid. Someone not wanting to live is valid. Wanting to off yourself is something that many would consider a selfish thing because of all the people that would be left behind. This invalidates what they are feeling. Yuuji not only validated what he was feeling, but also managed to remind megumi what it is he wanted/wants to live for.
