Imagine if Dori and Nori were both dwarrowdames the whole time and they were just there to look after their shit ass nerd little brother.
never forget when saruman literally told gandalf "you've been smoking too much weed bro"
Frodo will forever remain tragic to me. How does it feel to sacrifice everything to save your home, only to return and realise that you also sacrificed your ability to love it? You left parts of yourself in that fire. You outgrew your meadow. You can go home - but you can never truly return.
this totally happened in the movie dw
Whenever I can’t do my work, but I can’t find a way past my writers block, I make a new Fandom Wiki for one of my fics.
The first time I did so it went from procrastination to hyper-fixation on learning how to source code my wikis.
Has anybody else procrastinated so hard you learnt how to code?
Do you ever think of the fact that Gimli knew Ori well enough to be able to recognise his handwriting after years of not seeing him?
Do you think about one night, Ori, Fili, Kili and Gimli are out having drinks or something before they leave to join the Company, joking and promising Gimli that they’d be back soon to tell him all about it, how they couldn’t wait to see him again but in Erebor.
Do you think that Ori and Gimli sat together, alone. The Princes voices no longer filling the silence.
Then Gimli sat alone.
I’m gonna draw this 🤫🧏♀️
Witerwy me gang, never found something more true
always torn between "this is fanfiction, it doesn't need to be 100% realistic" and "if i get even a single fact about this obscure thing wrong, i am going to be violently killed with hammers"
I’m fine with Thorin being taller than Bilbo, but there’s something unsettling about seeing tall!Thorin (Richard behind the scenes in costume)
Like, Richard in makeup and a hoodie? Beautiful, majestic
Richard in his full costume standing next to Ian? Terrifying
Imagine 6’2” Thorin Oakenshield running at you at full speed
My brain: We not sleepin tonight
Me: K *opens ao3*
As much as I like the Hobbit movies in their own right, I love the books a lot more.
So when I’m writing Legolas and Tauriel by choice into my fics, I have fun with it.
Cause screw ‘high and mighty awesome Legolas’ that’s not who he is, he’s a childish little twink who falls head over heels in love with a Dwarf.
I also like fixing his and Tauriel relationship. In my stories Legolas follows her around like a little duckling, he follows her lead when they’re outside the palace.
She’s fixing her bow in front of the fire while his heads in her lap, whining about how weird and overbearing his dad is. He’s glancing up at her whenever he’s talking to someone new, waiting for her nod of approval.
They are Exasperated Big Sister and Autistic Homeschooled Little Brother fr and I fw it.
For all that is talked about, Legolas does not get nearly enough praise for how kind he is.
Joins the fellowship on a mission almost guaranteed to take all their lives in sacrifice without blinking. Never uses his title of prince and, in fact, doesn’t mention it at all. Takes part in the battle despite it having little effect on him, with his people sailing west and leaving the war-torn shores.
He rebuilds the rubbles of cities destroyed, makes the world better and filled with life, both flora and fauna. He stays beyond the calling of the sea, resisting the desperate urge engraved in his bones calling him to sail. He, with a gentle hand and a brave heart, handbuilds a ship and takes the risk of bringing Gimli along with him.
He doesn’t have to, but he did.
