clark kent with his superior smell not smelling a drip of alcohol coming from brucie waynes breath and wondering why hes dancing in his boxers acting drunk in the middle of the gala
"He slipped"
Batman (1940) issue 424
Doing a reread of Nightwing and honestly, I kinda forgot that whole thing at the start of Wolfman’s run with Raptor where Dick got buried alive and had to dig his way out and now I’m just imagining it coming up in conversation with Jason
Jason: yeah digging myself out was no fun at all. You start to feel all weird because of the lack of oxygen, and combine that with the mud under your fingers - a sensory nightmare. I still can’t touch mud.
Dick: oh yeah I get that totally. When I had to dig my way out, I remember looking at my hands and -
Jason: wait, dig your way out - when the fuck did that happen?!
Dick: yeah, it was just after that time you came to New York!
Jason: *bluescreening*
Dick: you steal my suit, I steal your shtick
When ur brutally murdered son comes back from the dead with pure unfiltered rage
*screaming*
Tim learned on a simulator because no one was there to teach him.
I have thoughts that he did lots of things on simulators. Like he simulated conversations with his dad, telling him all about Robin. He simulated watching movies with Dick. He simulated playing chess games with Bruce.
Tim used the simulator as a tool for social interaction with people who weren’t there.
And the simulator taught him how to drive. :-/
Today’s the day!!
The way this man's entire face lights up when he sees Kory and his eyes shine at her 🥹
Tim: Can you imagine the food they eat in jail? Bleh!
Dick: Don't need to imagine, it's disgusting.
Jason: When did you try prison food?!
Dick: When I was 8.
Tim, scoffing: If you commited a crime I'm pretty sure there'd be hundreds of articles about it, I didn't see any when I was researching you.
Dick: Oh! I didn't commit a crime.
Jason: Why the fuck would you be in Juvie if you didn't commit a crime?
Dick: Orphanages were full.
Everyone:
Jason: The hell?
Tim: I'm calling a lawyer, that has to be illegal.
Damian, in the vent: I can't believe this city's incompetence.
Dick: I can. Now get down here.
Damian: Fine.
Post-Crisis Jason was a stroke of genius from DC.
The first time bruce wayne is robbed in crime alley he walks away a broken child. He swears Vengeance on Crime and dedicates himself to the pursuit of Justice.
The second time bruce wayne is robbed in crime alley he sees injustice didn't start at the crime. He is a man now, aware of the world and its complexities, and his own ability to change it. He takes a weapon out of the hands of a broken child and leads him out, to find his own justice.
Hehe I'm writing a fic which is basically this
Dick, drunk: Man, fuck Jason.
Roy, also drunk, near tears: Dude I'm trying.
More thoughts on Clark fantasizing about sweaty Bruce "in a friend way":
The reason this lasts so long is coz every time Clark considers that maybe this behaviour isn't normal, he looks over at Bruce who's doing the exact same thing and thinks "nah, this is how friends act, totally bros"
He's memorising his heartbeat and scent? Bruce has already studied every inch of his body in great detail multiple times
He's interested in learning more about Bruce's parents and childhood? Bruce has been learning to speak kryptonian and studying the culture for years now
He treats the bat kids like his own kids? Bruce literally buys the bank his parents owe money to so they can keep the farm
He stares at the man's scars for a bit too long in the changing rooms? Bruce just full on looks him in the eye while he strips down then continues on like nothing happened
This man has not only matched his freak, he's doubled it and put a batsymbol on it
