asexual ravenclaw moodboard ☁
This is the best single article I’ve ever read on asexuality. Brief, down to earth, and still comprehensive and accurate, and it doesn’t leave you with a million unanswered questions. If you ever need a basic go-to article to give your friends, this one is good!
Hey Everyone! To celebrate Asexual Awareness Week, the team at Queer Sounds want to create a video for our song Asexy. BUT We would like your help. We want to put together a video with real asexual spectrum people holding up the lyrics to the song. If you would be interested in helping us make this video, please send an email to queersounds@gmail.com with ‘Asexy Awareness Song’ as the subject we’ll assign you a section of the lyrics to write up signs for and film. You then go off and do it, upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video, submit the video to us here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1mgzlhDmeIYeGY2x2EInl5nSqM7jYnFLqJmWUrJZCT-w/viewform?c=0&w=1 and we’ll take care of the rest. Submission of videos closes on the 22nd of October 2014, so make sure to send them to us by then. Interested? There’s some more detailed instructions and guidelines regarding how to make your video in the linked video. Good luck! [EDIT: Have no idea what this video will look like? Well wonder no more! Here’s Masque with a rough demonstration of the kind of thing we’d like you to do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRd-NO7Tr9Q ]

happy pride month of 2020!
Something strange is going on with the way we talk about feelings. Emotional responses are mocked in some but honored in others. The same people deride millennials and their “safe spaces” where feelings are never hurt, and then fall back on the refrain that “I just feel more secure when I have a gun.” Feelings, it seems, are either a laughable distraction or a crucial decision-making element, depending on who’s having them. The need to feel safe, in particular, is often treated as childish and absurd—but only when coming from people who have actual reason to feel vulnerable. Asking to be recognized as your true gender? It’s all in your head. Asking for accommodations for illness and disability? You’re too sensitive. Recounting experiences of dehumanization because of your race or gender? What an overreaction. But those who want to make the country “safer” by securing the borders against people they perceive as outsiders are never painted as whiners or cowards. The police officers killing unarmed folks in a moment of panic are not mocked for failing to keep their feelings in check. When someone wants a deadly weapon, their desire to feel safe becomes a rugged and real and sexy conviction.

Having sex does not make you human. Wanting sex does not make you human. Feeling sexual attraction does not make you human. You can have, want, or feel some of these things, or all of them, or none of them, and still be human. Humanity is an intrinsic part of your existence. Nobody gets to take it away from you because of your asexuality, regardless of what that means you do and do not want.

things english speakers know, but don’t know we know.
(Well. Second favourite. Shinigami Eyes is my favourite.)
Welcome to SponsorBlock.
SponsorBlock is a particularly sophisticated ad blocker for youtube that skips over promotional spots within youtube videos. You can customise it to allow, autoskip, or ask to skip various types of in-video promotion.
For example, I’m watching this video:
If you look down in the progress bar, you’ll see yellow segments highlighted for unpaid/self promotion (this is people telling you about their patreons, or new merch they have for sale, or new youtube series they’re making, stuff like that), and a green segment for paid promotion (for if they start ranting about skillshare or hellofresh or squarespace, you know the kind). I’ve got it set up so that SponsorBlock will automatically skip the paid promotion – I don’t even know who this guy’s sponsor is. But he’ll keep telling me about his new PO box unless I choose to skip it with a single button press. (You can set it up to autoskip this stuff to, if you prefer). Segments are user-submitted, so there’s no weird errors made by bots or anything. This is the cleanest, most ad-free youtube experience I’ve ever had; often I’ll forget I have this installed and be like ‘wow youtube’s been surprisingly good lately’.

Hello, dear followers!
For some reason more than 2000 people decided to follow my blog, thank you so much for you support !
To commemorate this, i’m giving away some of my art! Here goes:
Rules:
No giveaway blogs
Both reblogs and likes count, you can reblog as many times as you like, just be considerate of your followers!
Hey folks! I’ve decided that if I want to improve the quality of my uniforms, I need to get my hands on a serger. A serger is designed to finish the edges of cut fabric and prevent fraying, even through repeated wear and machine washing, which is something any good cosplay should be able to do! Unfortunately I’m already breaking bank (on Trek cons and fanseries, haha), so to help cover the cost, I’m raffling off a custom Starfleet uniform!
The Rules:
I’ll ship anywhere within or beyond the United States
You must be 18+ or live with someone 18+ who doesn’t mind you sharing your address (this is just a legality thing)
You do not have to be following either of my blogs, but if you like Star Trek and cats, you should check out my main @slightly-oblivvyous
The raffle ends on July 2nd when I return from New York and the winner will be chosen by Random Number Generator
How to Enter:
To enter, donate at least $5 USD (currency converter) to my PayPal here (use this link if you don’t have PayPal). Put your tumblr url and preferred email address in the “Write a Note” field so I can contact you. (This is important!) Multiples of $5 count as multiple entries, so $9 only counts as one entry, but $10 counts as two. Reblogs don’t count as entries but are greatly appreciated.
Prize Tiers: The prize for the raffle depends on how many people participate. I must get at least 30 donations (or $150 total) for the raffle to go forward.
At 30+ entries, one winner will get a FREE* TOS uniform or TNG crop top
At 50+ entries, full jumpsuit-style uniforms (DS9/VOY, TNG) become available along with jacket-style tops
At 75+ entries, there will be two winners; the Grand Prize winner gets a uniform of their choice and the second place winner gets a TOS uniform
If there are 100+ entries, I’ll offer two Grand Prizes and cry
The winner(s) will be chosen on July 2nd and will receive an email with a link to my commission form to pick out their uniform(s)!
*NOTE: If you want a rank above Ensign, you’ll have to pay for rank braid – I have to order it online and the higher ranks ain’t cheap. Sorry! (Still, even if you went for Captain, you’d be getting a hella rad uniform for $30. That’s not bad.) And if you’re outside the US, you’ll have to cover part of the shipping cost.
Even if you can’t afford to enter or aren’t in the market for a uniform, please help a fellow Trekkie out and signal boost! LLAP!
