An oldie Stardew Valley fanart that I forgot to post here :> I should play it again, I miss it

Walked to the store to pick up some groceries and realized I forgot my wallet. Luckily nothing in Sweetpea is too far away!

saw an absolutely hilarious animal crossing theory that i now 100% accept and it’s that in the animal crossing world, humans are going extinct, and so all the animals have locked you in an elaborate zoo enclosure and are trying to give you enrichment. and that’s why they give you infinite pointless tasks, hide money in trees and rocks, invented debt that doesnt matter etc. it’s why they always act so happy to see you even after you raze the entire island, relocate their houses twice, and always act so pleased about your choices no matter what. it’s all to keep their little endangered human healthy and enriched. and thinking of it this way has genuinely improved my experience of the game

Here is a little bit of info about myself:

I grew up watching the aogg (1985) movies and my 6th grade English teacher introduced us to awae (when it first premiered) after reading a shortened version of Anne of Green Gables in class. I’m going on a trip to PEI this summer which has restarted my obsession with Anne 👒

I have yet to read the aogg series, but it’s definitely something I want to start soon (and maybe I’ll share my thoughts/reaction here)

Anyways I decided to start this sideblog to not overrun my main @fntasy-violence or atla/tlok sideblog @sugarqueen-katara so hi <3

These are Nikolai’s rules, but the Darkling seems to follow them all without talking about them

1) The less you say the more your words will carry- Aleks doesn’t talk much, he only ever has real conversations with Alina

2) Don’t argue, never deign to deny- he lets every rumour add to his reputation

3) Weakness is a guise- he pretends to be weaker than he is to stay close to the king for all those centuries

4) Use whatever or whoever is in front of you- isn’t that basically what he did with Genya?

5) Being a leader means that someone is always watching you- cold, unreadable and emotionless unless he’s only with Alina (and sometimes not even then)

6) Get them to follow the little orders and they’ll follow the big ones- we see the start of this with Alina when she refuses to wear black and then wears his kefta; she becomes dependent on his visits later

7) It’s okay to flout expectations, but never to disappoint them- he is strict with his soldiers to ensure their safety, but he also expects only the best of himself as their leader

Nikolai and Darkles are two sides of the same coin; bent a long time ago to alter them in opposite ways.
