you're not sure what makes you say it, and even less sure what possessed you to say it to izuku. it's stupid. but you're a little drunk, not enough to not be mortified, but enough so that it feels like you're full of carbon, empty calories fizzing in your head. and he reacts as though in slow motion; you see his body freeze in the blue-dark of his room, and then the snap of his head as he sits up slightly to stare at you.

the moonlights glints off his green eyes. your words hang in the air like breath on a wintry morning, a tangible cloud you might reach out and touch. for a second, neither of you breathe, as izuku's face fills with colour. it's not an unfamiliar sight - he goes bright red when you so much as blink too closely to him - but it's different here, somehow, and there's something frightening about that.

because it's always been this way since you were kids, but you're not kids anymore and the stuffed toys have been left at his house and it's not trembly little izuku staring down at you like he can barely believe you're real. it's deku, the hero, all might's successor, but for all that you can still see the boy in the disbelieving shine in his coin-round eyes, the tiny gasp that leaves his parted lips. that wailing child that never believed he was a thing capable of being regarded as an equal by his peers, let alone being loved by them.

he stares at you as if telling him this is akin to you signing your death warrant.

"y-you..." he swallows audibly. his voice wavers. "you can't m-mean that..."

your affection seeps through you, thick and heady and sweet as syrup. it chokes up your veins and clogs your arteries; you feel it slip sluggishly around your heart as you clumsily lift a hand to cup his face. his skin burns beneath you, but for all the disbelief crowding his expression, he still melts unthinkingly into your touch.

you're so in love you could cry. it might split you at the seams and burst out of you in a projectile of shining light, but you know izuku would ruin his hands putting you painstakingly back together again.

"i do. what else... there's no one else." you stumble over your words, awkward, clunky, like two toddlers taking their first steps together, but izuku understands anyway. this isn't how you planned to confess, but fuck it, in for a penny in for a pound and you're tossing your coins in the air like you've got hundreds to spare. "you're it for me. it's just... i'm yours, you know? and you're - you're mine."

izuku's breath shudders. tears film his eyes, lighting them brighter than they have any right to be in the darkness of his room. "don't say that," he whimpers. "please, it's... you're... i can't..."

"izuku." and your arms lift up, leaden with fatigue but searching for the ones you know will catch you. and he does, fumbling you carefully until you're sitting up with your arms resting on his shoulders. you're close, suddenly, so close you can see every dark swoop of an eyelash, every freckle casting starlight on his round cheeks, every tremble of his chapped lips. you swallow.

you always thought you'd be more nervous. but you're not. you can't be, with him. this is what was always meant to happen. you can feel it in every line of your palm, every strand of your hair, every cell in your bloodstream.

how can you be nervous when this is what you were built for?

izuku takes your sudden silence in a panic, immediately beginning to spiral. "i - w-wait, i'm sorry, i didn't mean to..." he gulps in a breath, ardently ignoring the tear that slides down his cheek. "c-can you... say it again, please?"

you knock your forehead gently against his, pushing the tide of green curls between your skin. "i'm yours," you mumble into the narrow gap between your mouths. "you're mine. okay?"

izuku sobs, chokes on it. his shaking hands finally find home on your arms, pulling you desperately closer, fingers sinking into your skin like you might become intangible in the next moment, like you're some sweet dream about to slip through his hands. but you're not going anywhere, because you've always been here and so has he and when you wind your hands around the back of his neck and tug at the hair foaming there it feels like the first time and the last time and all the times inbetween.

finally, izuku sniffles and drops his head to your shoulder. his own broad ones shake as he sobs, and you breathe deeply against him because you know he's not sad, not really. your izuku is made of tears, and that has never made him weak. it's only that he feels everything so deeply, is cut to the quick by the people in his life.

your lips touch the damp crown of the top of his head as he trembles in your arms. in the silent shaking of his back, you hear the return; you're mine. i'm yours. i was born to meet you, too.

sleepy boys ft. xiao, venti, diluc, thoma, itto

as an adeptus, xiao doesn’t actually need sleep, but that doesn’t stop him from getting exhausted. it makes him a little crabby and even more standoffish than usual, but give him a hot bath, spoon him and even maybe hum something to him and he’ll be out pretty quickly. sometimes, if he’s really relaxed, his eyes get heavy and he might make tiny, cute yawns, lean into you a little heavier than he was already. if you bring it up, he gets super defensive and denies it, but it’s really cute.

venti sleeps a lot—mostly when he’s drunk or bored, and he loves when you join him! if he’s drunk, give him some water to help with the hangover he’s about to have and get him into bed for a night of cuddling and him slurring out ballads about you. if he’s bored, he likes to climb all over you to find a comfortable position before he tries to sleep. if you’re working, he’ll stretch across your hands like a cat—cute but horribly distracting. he likes getting goodnight kisses, even if it’s just a nap—make sure you give him one, otherwise he’ll make a big fuss out of it.

diluc’s sleeping schedule is horrendous. he’s up all day attending to the winery and up all night bartending or haunting the streets of mondstadt. the only time he really gets any sleep is when he’s about to pass out and you make him—he’ll put up a little fight about it because he’s not a child, he can take care of himself, he’s fine, but as soon as you get him in your lap he’s fast asleep and burying his face in you. he’s so warm, radiates it like a furnace. the temperature flares if he’s having a nightmare, and it can be scary the first few times, but just stroke his hair and give him little reassurances and it will even out again. if he’s actually sleepy? give him sleepy cuddles, because he’s so big and warm; it’s a heavenly experience.

thoma is another one that works until he drops. he’s usually so worried about everything around him that he doesn’t notice he’s exhausted until he’s barely able to stand up. he’ll try to weasel his way out of resting, but just ask if he’ll at least cuddle with you, please? he’s been so busy lately… and after a minute, he’s absolutely limp. thoma will scoot towards anything warm when he’s sleeping, and usually that thing is you—even if you start out separate, you’ll wake up with him sprawled all over you.

itto loves loves loves sleeping with you!! he likes being the big spoon because he can wrap his arms around you and squeeze you like a teddy bear (gently, of course), and he likes cuddling in general. it takes forever for him to actually fall asleep, though, because he just gets excited about even being beside you. just give him little kisses and comb his hair, let him talk himself out, and eventually you’ll have a big oni-puppy curled around you and snoring. he’s a very animated sleeper, moves around and talks and sometimes laughs, and it’s usually very endearing if he isn’t kicking or rolling on top of you.

- movie nights at least once a week. Contrary to what his manly man behavior suggests, no, Jean does not want to watch this super scary horror movie

- He has a fear of clowns and dolls so when you pull out the Annabelle movies he's already sweating.

-"You sure you wanna watch this movie, baby?" "Je~ean, you're not scared, are you?" "Well, I-, no, of course not, I- I just- I don't want you to be scared."

- You see right through his façade but pick another movie anyway. If you both still watch the horror movie, you're holding and rubbing his hand the entire time, his face partially hidden in your neck as he tries to disguise his fear as cuddling.

- He tenses up when something scares him and tries to hold in any scream or cry, but if one does slip out he obviously disguises it as a cough. Yeah sure, Jean, a popcorn kernel totally got stuck in your throat conveniently at every jumpscare.

- summertime with Jean!! He loves seeing you in any swimsuit whether it's a one-piece or a bikini, even if you're wearing one of those little sheer cover-ups the entire time

- you both suck at making sand castles and they end up lopsided and looking like they've melted.

- definitely collects seashells for you. He hides the prettiest ones from you to get them made into necklaces/gifts and it's always a pleasant surprise. You keep them all tucked away in a cute little jewelry box and wear them out on dates.

- Jean has this sort of mundane superpower where's he really good at telling what things you really want. You don't even have to say anything. You pick up a pair of pants and only look at it for ten seconds, but Jean can somehow tell if you actually really like them or not. He claims you have a tell but won't let you know what it is.

- He will try out any game you tell him about at least once. Doesn't matter if it's a girly dress up game or a first person shooter, he'll try it anyway.

- LOVES running his fingers through your hair (or over your scalp if you have super short hair). Loves having his hands on or near your head/face in general. Gives you head pats and calls you a good girl/boy

- Sings while he cooks but only when you're not home/he thinks you can't hear him because it makes him a little shy.

- Loves to dress you up because he loves seeing you in clothes that he picked out for you. You're both be lazing around the house and he gets this urge to spoil you so grab your bag, ya'll are going shopping.

- He tells you to pick a colour or a style(and maybe the store) and while you're looking at stuff in the shop, he's using the criteria you gave him to pick an outfit for you, it's like a game for him.

Katsuki was pissed at first.

How could an extra like you have an awesome quirk like his? It didn't sound right.

It was the same reason why he kept an eye out for you, he wanted to know your training methods and all that.

Little by little, he came to realize that you were doing your best. And he wouldn't tell you this, but he even thought that you were better than him at times.

His anger turned into admiration for you, and he even asked if you could workout together. To which you said "yes" because you admired him as well.

Kirishima :

Eijiro couldn't stop gazing at you the moment he saw you using your quirk for the very first time. And it took him a hot minute to finally approach you.

He was a blushing mess and he struggled to tell you how awesome he thought you were.

The moment you heard him say that was the happiest of your life because you thought the same way about him.

You became inseparable ever since and did everything together: workout, homework, having meals...

You just couldn't imagine how your lives would be without the other.

Momo :

Momo was intimidated at first. She thought you were a lot better than her at using your quirk.

The moment you noticed that, you approached her and told her how much you admired her. You didn't want things to be awkward between the two of you. Besides, you truly did believe she was awesome and you hated seeing her lose confidence.

It worked! Her eyes lit up and she gave you the most beautiful smile you've ever seen.

You learned a lot from each other and you became each other's biggest fan.

Ochaco :

The moment she saw you in action was the moment she realized that you were her idol.

You thought it was cute the way she kept following you around and asking you all those questions about your workout routine and what you did to prevent your quirk from interfering with your everyday life.

She became your biggest supporter and you became hers.

You shared everything together and protected each other on missions.

Kaminari :

He couldn't believe his eyes! Was he seeing right?

He came running towards you like a bullet and started asking you all those questions and telling you how amazing he thought you were.

He freaked you out at first because you still had no idea who he was, but seeing his genuine smile and his bright eyes helped you feel at ease right away.

You started talking and laughing together and he suggested that you two should partner up for missions.

You got even closer as time went by and your friendship became something else entirely, something a lot more.

Mirio :

He kept his distance at first because you were so nervous and he didn't want to scare you off.

Though he was watching you from a far to see if you needed any help.

The first time you two were by yourselves happened purely by chance. You were at the gym working out and trying to improve your control over your quirk, when Mirio stepped in for his daily training.

You immediately apologized and prepared to leave when he stopped you and asked if you wanted to workout together since you had the same quirk.

You approved albeit reluctantly. But soon after, you thanked the heavens you did.

He's an amazing hero and an amazing person. He became your rock.

He often tells you that he had his eyes on you since day one, and will continue to watch over you until the day he dies.

Mina :

Mina's reaction was the same as Kaminari's.

She was ecstatic and dubbed you as "hers" since day one.

She thought you were amazing and wanted to learn a lot from you, as did you.

You partnered up on missions, protected each other, and worked amazingly together.

Kendo :

She was amazing to you and treated you well ever since the day she leaned that you two had the same quirk.

She protected you from everything especially Monoma's mean remarks.

She was the person you admired the most and all you wanted was to be more like her.

When you told her that, she smiled and asked you to never change because she loved you the way you are.

Monoma :

He made fun of you at first. Told you that no matter how hard you try, you will never step up to his level.

You tried to keep your distance but he kept following you around.

One day you've had enough and just blew up on his face. He was taken aback and for once couldn't say a word.

You left crying and he stood there shocked.

The next day he apologized and told you that he actually found you amazing and was only joking by his previous remarks.

You were skeptical but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

As turned out, he was saying the truth.

Shinsou :

You were awkward around each other to say the least.

None of you had the guts to approach the other. You were both a bit of a loner and your quirks didn't help you make friends.

It was thanks to Aizawa that you finally became close since he insisted on you training together.

Little by little you became comfortable with one another and became each other's best friend.

As time went by, you realized that all you needed was each other.

Nejire :

She overwhelmed you at first. She was obviously a sweet, affectionate and lovable person, but she kept asking you all these kinds of questions about your quirk, and giving you information on how she deals with hers.

Noticing your discomfort, she apologized instantly and asked if she could start over.

You found her adorable and you became closer soon after.

You exchanged information about your quirk and asked the other for help whenever you needed it.

You were always there for each other.

Amajiki :

This sweetheart refused to even look you in the eye. Having the same quirk as one of the big three is an honor, and you wanted to learn more from him, but everytime you try talking to him he gets all awkward and runs away from you after apologizing.

You gave up eventually and stopped bothering him.

Apparently he regretted blowing you off, because he came to see you one day and suggested training together.

You found it extremely adorable the way he was blushing and struggling with his words.

You happily accepted of course and little by little became a lot closer.

He was like a little puppy following you around everywhere.

He would never ask you what’s wrong. It was obvious you were hurting… the question felt unnecessary for him to ask. He could feel the way your texts seemed off, your words less vibrant and the usual excitement dimmed. It didn’t take long for him to grab his keys off the table and to shoot you a little text telling you to “pack a bag” as he was on his way to get you.

The car ride was silent, nothing but the sound of your favorite songs quietly playing to fill the void. His hand never left yours, his fingers dancing against your knuckles and his grip tightening at every red light or stop sign. He’d shoot you glances any chance he could, his eyes focusing on your glossy ones as you held back your tears. His heart clenching as he stepped on the gas, his urge to have you close taking over his mind.

Levi was gentle with you, he patiently grabbed your bag from the back seat while you gathered the strength to at least make it inside before breaking. He felt the warmth of your body as you leaned your head against his back, your salty tears drenching his once pristine white shirt. A quiet “Come with me Angel, let’s go lay down.” Tumbling past his pink lips.

His fingers danced across your back as you broke down, his digits tracing his name into your skin each one forever branded with the seal of his love. Your head cradled gently against his chest as you spilled every last problem to him… his heart trembling at the pain each word held. He hated seeing you so lifeless, the color your sweet eyes held so dull.

He knew about the problems you had with your family, he knew about the baggage placed on your shoulders and he wanted nothing more then to be the one to carry that for you. His lips pressed ever so gently against your ear he whispers, “Angel, I’m sorry they’ve put this all on you… I’m sorry you feel like your doing it alone. Let me help you please… Y/N let me carry some of this for you.” He leans back to gaze into your eyes, his eyebrows furrowed as he looks you over.

Wiping the tears from your eyes he continues, “Nothing you feel is ever a burden to me Y/N you don’t have to hold it in until it gets to this point… I’m here. Anytime you need me I’m a call away so please… just come to me, alright?” Seeing the slight nod of your head Levi leans in and presses a tender kiss to your lips. “I love you Y/N… always.”

You close your eyes as you feel his thumb brushing across your cheek, your breathing beginning to even out in the warm embrace of your lover. A quiet, “I love you Levi.” escaping you before your eyelashes flutter shut and lips part giving way to peaceful breaths. The smallest smile tugging on his lips as he looks at you, puffy red cheeks and the lightest hue of red across your nose.

To him you were beautiful… every moment you were with him was beautiful. He’d spend forever holding you in his arms just like this if it meant that he could protect your heart from anymore scars. He’d give you a family you’d only ever dreamed about, and he’d make sure you were the happiest you have ever been. It’d never be enough for you, nothing he could give could ever measure up to the amount of happiness you gave him but he’d spend his whole life trying.

Raking his fingers into your hair he holds you as close as possible, his lips resting against your forehead as he closes his eyes for the night. His hand laced with yours as his breathing begins to steady, legs wrapping up with yours as he makes himself comfortable. Quiet snores and the sound of your heart beats syncing fills the darkness of the room with a warm glow. He’d always be there to make you feel better, any day of the week no matter the hour. You were his angel… and who would he be to let you fall?

ALBEDO often kissed you at random times, even before you wanted to close your eyes, prepping yourself to drift away to the other heavenly realm before a soft contact from his lips to you was felt, and you looked up at him, eyes shying away from yours, and a goodnight wish was heard.

AYATO kissed you cautiously with such gentleness, and sometimes, you heart fluttered at the feeling of his warm breath hitting everywhere around you, because he was too slow, felt too safe, and your worries had been thrown out of the window the moment he planted his lips on your forehead.

CHILDE would kiss you playfully, and that was the perfect mood to make you at ease, as if his body told you to mentally relax, because you deserved the best after a hard day, and oh, giggles between kisses because he loved seeing you in a joyful state before going to sleep.

DILUC wasn't affectionate, but the moment he tried to kiss you a goodnight, you were caught off guard, and although his kiss was awkward, you couldn't help but smile at his cute attempt, and you pecked him at his nose, noticing the small, light blush he'd been hiding from you.

GOROU liked to peck you, snuggling with you, inhaling your own scent, and your brain mentally screamed at the way he was too soft. soft kisses on you were littered everywhere by him, and his puppy eyes seemed so in love that you almost teared at up at the sight, and your heart was too weak for him.

ITTO wouldn't kiss you, unless you kissed him first. he would be super excited seeing you almost touched his lips, but then you pulled away and he would be frowning. two could play at this game together, and so, he would do the same, yet he would end up kissing and cuddled himself with you nonetheless.

KAEYA loved to tease you, whenever you clung onto him, or rather asked him where was your goodnight kiss, he would always tease you, jokingly said that you were such an attention seeker, but still his precious attention seeker, and he was more than happy to kiss your pretty face every night.

KAZUHA calmly kissed you, and this had been proven to be the most effective way to keep you collected and composed, and at times, you would fall asleep in his embrace. like the calm breeze, he felt the same towards you, and you ultimately knew, that you were so lucky to have him beside you.

THOMA perfectly knew you liked it when he kissed you, so he always took his efforts in making your heart content, a chuckle left him when he felt you reciprocating his kiss back, enjoying the night in each other's arms as both of you felt heavy and slept.

VENTI would practically drown you with his kisses, a kiss to your forehead, a kiss to your nose, a kiss to your lips, a kiss to your cheek, he was basically living to see you being entertained with his actions, and that was enough for him to sleep in peace at nights.

XIAO only kissed you when you were asleep. he was too shy and too amateur in this, but he knew you felt his kisses, the small smile you gave when you were pretending to be sleeping soundly wasn't went unnoticed by him, and that made him restlessly happy throughout the whole night.

ZHONGLI started developing this habit of kissing you once midnight approached was when you once asked him to do it to you. it came off neutral afterwards, and he being such a gentleman he was, the kiss he delivered to you was nothing less. gentle and loving, just like him.

hearing the front door open makes you instinctively jump to your feet. when you make it to the entrance of your apartment, you find kazutora kicking off his work shoes and slipping off his jacket. “tora! how was-“. your question is caught off by kazutora practically collapsing your arms out of exhaustion.

a light hearted chuckle passes by your lips before you help kazutora over to the living room sofa. after some effort you end up sitting on the couch with kazutora’s head resting in your lap. inhaling your scent, kazutora can’t hold back his sigh of content.

“wow, someone’s tired,” you giggle, gently pulling kazutora’s hair out of the ponytail it was in so you could run your fingers through his blond and black locks. “you and chifuyu must have been really busy”.

“hmm, missed you all day,” kazutora mumbled. he’s looking up at you with eyes that are struggling to stay open. after not seeing you for hours kazutora doesn’t want to ruin this moment by drifting off but it’s proving to be difficult.

with a soft smile, you reassure him that you missed him too. sometimes it sucked that you’d be separated for so long during the day but you understood why things were that way. ever since he got released from jail, kazutora has been doing everything he could to turn his life around. he got a job at the pet store with chifuyu and he’s been working hard to be the type of person who could take care of you.

it warmed your heart seeing all of kazutora’s effort but at the same time, you worried. “i’m really proud of you,” you tell him as kazutora takes one of the hands that was playing with his hair and brings it to his lips. the sleepy kisses that he leaves on your knuckles only makes you grin grow wider. “but you know, you deserve a break”.

almost immediately, kazutora shakes his head as if this is impossible. “i have a lot to do before i can make up for my mistakes and i doubt even that will be enough,” he argues, a sad frown appearing on his face as he recalls all those things that occurred in the past.

just thinking about what earned him jail time made kazutora feel sick. he truly couldn’t believe that after everything he still managed to find someone like you, who loved him despite all his faults. it didn’t seem fair but at the same time he was grateful for what he perceived as his undeserved fortune.

“baji wouldn’t want you to work yourself to death” you remind him, as if you could read his mind and tell that his old friend had suddenly begun plaguing his thoughts. “and neither do i. i’m sure chifuyu would understand if you took the day off. how about it, stay home with me tomorrow?”.

the guilt in his chest makes it hard for kazutora to agree to your suggestion at first. the longer he looks up into those eyes of yours that he adored so much, he became unable to refuse you. “okay” he yawns. “hopefully chifuyu will be able to handle things”.

“i’m sure he can,” you replied. “so what do you want to do tomorrow? we can go for a walk in the park or we can bake? or just relax in bed all day. what do you think?”.

your inquiry gets no response. confused, you look down at kazutora to find him softly snoring in your lap. turns out he couldn’t keep himself awake any longer. it’s fine because he looks so adorable napping like a kitten. “never mind, we can talk in the morning,” you whispered, leaning down to kiss his forehead. “goodnight, tora”.

DILUC RAGNVINDR. noctua

"i want to marry you someday." are the words he mutters when all he can do is stare at you, when he thinks you aren't looking. where diluc ragnvindr's entire mind goes blank — not a thought behind those pretty, red eyes besides 'oh god oh fuck' when you eventually catch him. diluc doesn't want you to know about all the ugly sides of him, about how rough he is around the edges. he doesn't want you to get caught up with him—he can't let the fire burn you like it has burnt everything else in his life.

he coughs, and refuses to acknowledge it ever happened despite your countless jabs to get him to say something—to say anything. it's quiet and diluc wants so badly to pretend it never happened, to pretend he never said anything because he doesn't want to ruin it—to lose you too. you huff slightly in frustration, and diluc resists the urge to laugh despite the situation he's put himself in. it's strange how you can make him smile even when it feels his mind is crumbling.

the silence settles and diluc can feel the anxiety ripple through his body as he steals a glance in your direction. just as he can get ready to apologize, your finger pulls his hand into yours. "we don't—we don't need to get married now, but in the future ... will you marry me?"

he buries his face into your neck, promising to give you anything, despite him being the only thing you want. childe interlocks your pinkies, he promises a future. one where he won't have to worry about not being there to kiss you goodnight, but for now, you can only whisper your declarations of love till the brink of dawn. "are you leaving?" you asked, rubbing the tiredness from you eyes, strands of hair sticking out as you watch him from the bed. he knows—xiao knows that's not what you meant, not in that context, but the question struck enough fear in his heart that he had left without warning.

you lie asleep on his shoulder and xiao wonders if he ever really will leave. if one day the guilt that scratches at his throat whenever he says your name will be the last sign needed to push you away, for your own good. the sun is warm on your skin, and xiao hopes that somewhere in the depths of your mind, you'll hear the words he's too scared to say while you're awake.

xiao doesn't make promises, because he knows that there's always a possibility he wouldn't be able to keep them, but as the sun falls on your figure, xiao can't help himself. he never can when it comes to you. "you've stayed ... you've stayed this long, no going back, okay?" he sighs, and xiao can only hope you'll let him stay with you as long as he can. you hand finds it's way into his, interlocking them as you absentmindedly trace shapes into his knuckles. "no going back." you mumble into his shoulder before going back to sleep, and xiao freezes in shock, before slowly holding your hand tighter, tapping 3 times on the back of your hand. a silent 'i love you.'
