A/n: here's part two to the original request + think of this as a early birthday present from me to you!! you can find part one here, enjoy! some of these took a different turn plot-wise, i hope that's alright <3

Summary: reader pretends that their lover is their friend, co-worker, etc.

Characters: Aether, Albedo, Bennett, Childe, Chongyun, Diluc, Kaeya, Kazuha, Razor, Scaramouche, Venti, Xiao, Xingqiu, Zhongli

Warnings: fluff, a tiny bit of angst, i feel like i'm missing someone-, gn reader for all!

Accepts (he's very calm, rational, and understands)

Albedo: he understands why, and he's fine with it. especially if your relationship is something no one knows about, it'll be easier calling him your lab partner and friend. you both probably don't often go on missions together due to the busy schedules you both have, BUT when you're together, you probably often don't refer to each other in a very lovey-dovey way. at least in public; you two are very discreet! so, calling albedo something other than the endearing pet names you have reserved for behind closed doors is wayyy easier than you originally thought. and he's a very understanding boyfriend, so he definitely wouldn't throw a fit about this at all!

Chongyun: popsicle boy more than understands. he almost accepts a little too easily... he's not hurt by this, because your reasoning is rational and makes sense. he just wants you safe, so if he has to be your friend on a mission that's fine. everything is alright with him unless you start claiming you don't know who he is. then, and only then, is he bothered. if you bring this up in conversation, he may try to offer other ways to approach this, because he's like 0.001 bothered, but other than that everything is fine! just don't go around saying you don't know him because that's a huge shot in the chest that soft boy over here is not prepared for.

Diluc: this man understands completely! when you approached him about a mission jean was planning to send you on, he was a little worried, especially after he learned how far you'd be traveling... but when you asked him to accompany you on the long journey, he was relieved. the only minor issue is that he couldn't go as your boyfriend, due to issues of either one of you being targeted. he would go as your friend, the very well-known wine tycoon. he's not as bothered as many may think. why would he be? this is just a simple mission! no one would hit on you while he's at your side, he didn't need to be known far and wide as your boyfriend for men and women to stay away. he knows you can 100% handle yourself, so momentarily being referred to as your friend is alright.

Kaeya: telling kaeya you were going to stop calling him your boyfriend and all the nicknames attached in public was a blow to his heart, but guess what, if you have a reasonable enough explanation he totally understands. you tell him it has to do with a certain someone from your past intruding once again, and they're very dangerous, so he gets it and doesn't prod any fruther. he'll agree and not make a big fuss about it, only after he's done making a complete fuss about it. despite agreeing to accept, he teasingly asks you why you haven't been calling him this or that in public, and it takes a slap to the back of his head for him to 'remember' why you're only calling him captain or friend. this man is as smooth as butter so he'd never let it slip you're dating in a million years! but, that doesn't mean he doesn't pretend to let the secret slip, just to see your reaction. he walks the fine line of accepting but almost spilling the beans because he likes to tease you. don't worry though, after he's had his fun with you, just know he'll actually stop and leave it alone. but behind closed doors, the teasing doesn't necessarily stop ;)

Kazuha: he is definitely someone who agrees to this immediately, a little fast you joked. but he understands. you're from inazuma as well so you more than understand why your relationship needs to be kept on the down-low. especially since someone very close to you and kazuha perished, leaving you both as targets. even before your friends' murder, your relationship was a secret. so now that you're both outside of inazuma, you're definitely a little scared to share your true relationship with kazuha to outsiders. due to kazuha's involvement with the crux and finding people he trusts, he's much more comfortable sharing your relationship with the pirates. you, on the other hand, having spent much of your time in mondstadt after your friends' death, are a bit more... worried. if you admitted your involvement with kazuha, what would happen to him? would he be slain down? at least for a little while longer, you want to remain as friends on the outside, to the people who know you in mondstadt and the crux members who don’t know of your relationship. and kazuha's not against it either, as long as you come to terms that everything is alright on your own, he's more than fine keeping everything a secret!

Zhongli: telling him you would like to call him less friendly and endearing nicknames while in public, wasn't as much as a blow to his heart as you thought it would be. because he understands, and he's probably done it more than a few times as well, to keep you protected of course; he wouldn't just tell anyone you're his significant other, and vice versa. but this week you were meeting with some pretty dangerous people, alongside ningguang and yanfei to discuss legal action when it comes to a few individuals accused of money laundering; obtaining mora through illegal actions. during this time, zhongli offered to help in any way he could, and removing romantic gestures was rather easy. no one asked about your relationship because of how inconspicuous you two were being. but don't get me wrong, when this all blows away, he's less than a liyuen nobleman to you, assisting this case.

Accepts (he may accept, but that doesn't mean he isn't bothered)

Aether: poor boy! he's so hurt. what do you mean you don't want to call him your boyfriend??? sure, being called just a friend is fine because he is that too, but he's also your boyfriend so :( but after some thorough explaining done by beidou, he starts to understand why you both can't waltz into inazuma, while you complete your own individual task, and openly share your relationship status. he's THE knight, the one many know of now and are possibly after. it's safer for you to play under the guise of friends, more preferably traveling companions while in inazuma, especially since he's heard baal is a very very tough cookie. if she's anything like kazuha has shared with him, it's best you don't refer to aether as your boyfriend, especially if you cross her. she'd easily been the root of all of kazuha's pain, loss, and suffering. he didn't want that for either of you... so, for now, you're strictly traveling as companions or friends.

Razor: he can come to terms with this because he'll follow just about any order you give him. he trusts you wholeheartedly, and it's your word above all! but, in the back of his mind, there are times he wonders why? why does he have to be your friend again? it just doesn't make sense! lisa has to explain a few times, and each time he comes to terms with it again, but there are still those moments when he questions it. do you not want to be his significant other? would you rather be with someone else? but don't worry! he'll get over those fears as long as you reassure him that this is just a front while on this mission. reassure him that although to the public your title is friends, you're much more than that. and after, he'll totally be at ease.

Xiao: when your life was being threatened due to your title of an adepti, he knew it was important for you to go into hiding, effectively immediately. and for your safety, he accepts this instantly, without questions asked. but when zhongli tells him it's better for you two to not see or speak to one another, he is a little bothered. especially when you told him he might as well forget you were together, at least for the time being; it was a little harsh but you wanted to get your point across!! like razor, there's this insecure feeling bubbling within him. he wonders if he's strong enough, worthy enough, to be your lover. it doesn't matter how many times you reassure him that once this all blows over, you two can be together again and express your love to one another publicly or not. until then, he'd wait. waiting was going to be the easy part, he's waited for you to finally be his for thousands of years; what's another thousand, is his thought process. but when some of the younger liyuen's, such as xingqiu and hutao come to him and wonder where his graceful lover is, he can't help but feel momentarily defeated as he tells them you two were never together, just fellow adepti, co-workers, if you will. overtime, he'll come to terms with it, but for now, it does bother him a bit more than he'd admit.

Accepts (he accidentally/not so accidentally lets it slip)

Childe: you're not affiliated with the fatui, so any other group is practically a rival to them. you can't tell your affiliated group who he is to you and vice versa. but he so badly wants to share the secret... childe, like kaeya, walks the thin line of keeping the secret but wanting to prioritize his teasing and corny jokes instead. he'd much rather joke and tease about the nature of your true relationship than ever keep it a secret, and that's pretty much known. only very few of the fatui know of his secret, one being scaramouche after prying the information out of childe one day, and the other being signora who accidentally listened in on your conversation one day… despite how often he fought with scaramouche, and la signora's annoyance to be affiliated with the both of them, they still were his closest friends! so of course, he'd feel comfortable enough around them to joke, and in the process, let it slip that he was dating you. ahhh, it takes so much bribing of scaramouche to not snitch and rat him out to the tsaritsa, and a lot of pleading with la signora to leave you alone; she was more concerned with meeting you, to see if you were truly worthy of dating childe, and far too busy judging you. how they found out? well, he'd accidentally let the joke carry on for too long and shared a bit too much information. unlike kaeya, childe is less than smooth and doesn't know how to keep this specific secret for the LIFE of him, so it's very hard, and practically eating him alive. he's a good keeper of secrets, only in the beginning though. give or take a few months the secret will be out to the entirety of the fatui.

Bennett: ahh, benny... he's so clumsy, he's BOUND to let it accidentally slip during a mission. he understands you want to only call him your friend for the sake of the mission, and that doesn't mean he's not bothered by it, but it works! momentarily... when you're both fighting a large group of treasure hoarders, one of them taunts what his purpose is if he's so clumsy and can't even do one thing right, and benny takes that PERSONALLY. he KNOWS he's not supposed to let it slip, but at this moment, he can't help but scream, "I'm their boyfriend, that's who! and i'm a pretty awesome one if i do say so myself." and suddenly, everything between hammers to swords drops and the world falls silent for a minute. you immediately scold bennett when you return home, claiming although his gesture was... sweet. it was definitely dangerous to reveal. jean had strictly said personal relationships should be kept on the down-low, no matter strength or rank of those involved. and he feels so bad because once again he goofed up. he's so upset about it and doesn't let it go the whole journey home. just reassure him that it wasn't the biggest deal in your opinion, because in the end, you both kicked ass together.

Xingqiu: this boy strikes me as someone who is a blabbermouth, and i know for sure he'd either accidentally or not so accidentally let it slip that you're really together when you're not supposed to be. your parents would NEVER accept your relationship. one, because you're their child duh, they're your stereotypical overprotective parents, and two, xingqiu is well... xingqiu. in their book (heh), he'd never be a good match for you, especially if you come from a stoic lineage. he's too much of a goofball for them to handle or be taken seriously. but when they were finally free and caught you and xingqiu together one evening running around liyue harbor, they were more than shocked to see their child with a boy?! your more overprotective parent was seething with anger, you had never seen them so bothered until now. but don't worry (or so you thought), xingqiu always managed to talk himself out of sticky situations, and this time had to be no different! you've told your boyfriend a thousand and one times, that if he ever by chance ran into your parents, never EVER tell them you're dating. he was simply a friend in your little group of friends. WRONG. because it seems like the script you spent hours teaching him had been washed down the drain. he's too carefree, and he forgot completely who he was supposed to say he was smh. instead of introducing himself as your friend, he told your seething parents exactly who he was.

DON'T!!! (his pride is obliterated and feelings are extremely hurt)

Scaramouche: unless the mission is incredibly important and life-threatening on both ends, then you should have nor want no reason to call him a friend or just a co-worker. after all these years, after finally coming to terms and accepting how he feels about you, YOU'RE the one who wants to backtrack and turn the clocks? why? are you insane? let's just say scaramouche's pride is shattered. how DARE you tell him you decided your official title would be friends until everything with the traveler blew over. how dare you!!! he feels anger, humiliation, and rejection, and guess what? he loathes it all. he doesn't really care if you're both in danger, because he knows he's more than capable of keeping you both safe, and vice versa. he's with you for a reason. he loves you of course, but he also knows you can handle your own. he will flat out tell someone who he is to you, meanwhile mosey around what you are to him because he's embarrassed to admit his feelings bye. his response to you calling him just a friend is, "we're not just friends, you idiot. stop telling people that!" he'll either be really blunt or like i said, mosey around the matter as much as he can. all i'm going to say is, if you don't want to be lashed out at, DO NOT call him a friend or anything in that vein.

Venti: tsk tsk. as much of a strong front he puts up when it comes to this, this bard, in particular, is a clingy little bastard, and he just can't accept this at the end of the day. why? because, well why would he want to have you refer to him as a friend, or even worse, a stranger? i feel like he would despise flat-out rejection, and if you're trying to call him a friend or stranger due to a mission, well then, that's the biggest form of rejection in his book! venti shows how bothered he is by this as he complains and whines, and is nearly bowing at your feet to not go through with this. "please, y/n! don't break my little heart." yes, he's practically begging. never would you have thought an archon to be bowing at your feet... a literal GOD pleading for you not to break his heart. and as much as it breaks your own heart, you have to go through with this! a mission is a mission, and if this can keep venti safe, you're all for it. although, if your life is in danger then, of course, he'll allow it! but he's going to want to mosey around the fact for a while, and ignore that you're actually calling him a friend... but if you're just trying to protect him, he'll laugh it off, and say he can protect himself. he jokes that he'd much rather face death than ever hear you call him a friend or stranger, AHH.

the drive back to your shared apartment was a bitter one as you were forced to relive your failures over and over again.

you figured the moment you got accepted into the university of your dreams that you were unstoppable; that each and every one of your goals could be obtained as long as you were willing to put in the hard work.

so when your bad grades and failed exams kept coming up regardless of the times you have spent doing your best to study for the material, you wanted nothing more than to cry. your heart ached, your voice was raw from the shouts of frustration that clawed at your throat, and you were just so tired from it all.

when your apartment complex came to view, you parked haphazardly on your usual corner, the tears blurring your vision in such a siginificant manner you were shocked that you were able to walk up the steps and recognize the door.

your hands were shaky, and the trembling of your fingertips made you miss the lock a few times. when you finally jammed your key into the damn lock and twist it open, you winced at how the loud impact of the door slamming against the brick wall reverberated throughout the apartment.

you hoped you didn't bother your roommate, actually praying that this would be the afternoon he slept in without questioning your teary eyes.

with movements that were nothing short of robotic, you lock your door and stiffly walk to your room. as you passed by eren's bedroom, you let out a string of silent curses when the door opens to reveal his disheveled form. dressed in only a pair of sweatpants, you could see the beauty of his godlike form while he ran a hand through his shoulder length hair. ah, so he was still sleeping, and you were stupid enough to wake him up with your commotion. "the hell are you slamming doors for? can't you see i-"

the biting words seemed to die from his lips the moment his emerald gaze meets with your bloodshot ones, still filled with tears. "'m sorry eren, i promise i'll be quiet."

"wait, who the fuck made you cry?!" you did not want to deal with this, already feeling a pounding headache forming against your temples as you continued your way toward the sanctuary of your bed. when you felt his large hand encircle around your wrist, you immediately ripped yourself away from him. "i said i'm FINE, don't touch me!"

knowing your roommate was a stubborn asshole who refuses to let things go, the moment you entered your room with every intention of slamming the door in his stupidly pretty face, eren stops you, placing his full weight against the door all while glaring down at you as he spits out your name, "i asked you who the fuck made you cry! i'll kick his ass if he does this again, so just tell me already so i don't have to see you like this!"

"and why the hell do you care?! why can't you just-"

you feel his hand on your lips, thumb stroking at them with a gentleness you didn't think the eren yeager was capable of. through your many months of living with him, you found him to be an immensely attractive young man; you thought of him as being devastatingly handsome, even. sometimes, you found it hard to look at eren without feeling your heart clenching at least once.

but in time, you got used to his presence. you hid your growing crush on him, buried it within the deep depths of your heart each time he brought a new girl home and lead him to his bed like it was second nature. while he kept those beautiful women warm at night, you forced yourself to focus on your own goals. you buried your entire heart and soul into achieving your dreams, and each time you fell short, you could never prevent the feeling of helplessness that came with it. which was why you desperately needed to fall apart on your own, without eren's powerful and prying eyes on you.

yet when you tried to pull yourself away from him, he pulls you back with a grunt, not relenting. you continue watching with wide eyes as a ferocity you have never seen before hardens his gaze, "we've been living together for 8 months now, you think i don't notice when you stop singing in the shower, or how you don't dance anymore whenever you're cooking dinner for us? come on angel, tell me who made you cry. who made you lose the light that i..."

he trails off for some reason, appearing frustrated in himself. in a vain attempt to save yourself, you wiped away the snot and tears with the sleeve of your sweater to give him a self deprecating laugh. "it's never over a boy. some guy would never make me cry this fucking hard, but my failures will."

when he finally hears the truth, eren softens his gaze and gently pulls you toward his chest. you struggle a bit, asking him what he was doing, yet he merely ignores you. with your bed in sight, eren falls back on it with you in his arms. "it's okay. i understand what you're going through, more than you'll ever know."

the warmth eren surrounded you with tears down your defenses as you bury your head within his naked chest, allowing yourself to cry in his arms as you cling to him, like a child seeking comfort with her favorite blanket.

"eren, i'm so afraid of failing...so afraid of not being good enough. and i keep, i k-keep falling short and i don't know how to fix it....!"

"sssh, it's okay. you've just been working yourself too hard, baby. you're not a failure at all, you're the most hardest working person i've ever met, angel." eren scratches your scalp then, running his fingers through your hair as he smooths out each strand, making you melt against him as you felt all of the tension disappear with his mere touch alone. "give yourself time to feel better, to do the things you enjoy so that brain of yours can get that serotonin and shit."

eren's oddly considerate words makes you snort as you wipe away the last bit of your tears, feeling as though a weight had been lifted off of your shoulders when you lift yourself off of him-

only to be stopped when his powerful arms wrap themselves around your back, effectively trapping you against his naked chest once more.

you could feel the heat pool against your cheeks, embarrassment flooding your system as you weakly struggled against him, "eren, i feel better now, you can let go."

"no, i refuse to leave my girl alone even when she's done crying."

you felt eren stiffen beneath you, stuttering out excuses, "i-i mean, we're roommates, a-and roommates have each other's b-backs a-and...uhm...!"

your smile widens now, and you were finally able to pull yourself away from eren's grip to look down at him, "oh, i'm your girl now?"

you take your time and admire the blush quickly spreading across eren's cheek as he quickly looks away from you. loving this surprisingly soft side to him, you gently made him face you as you nuzzled his nose with the tip of your own, "what about all the other girls who spent the night here with you?"

"that was before i ever got to know you. they don't come around anymore because i made 'em go away. you're the one i want, angel." you take the time and relish in the way his lips gave you a soft pout, immediately making you lean down to capture them in a sweet kiss as he returned your kiss with a fervor.

with a newfound determination and warmth filling you, you had a feeling you could take on the world, failures and all, so long as eren was by your side.

- in fact, he cooks almost every meal the two of you eat because he needs someone to help him improve on his skills

- always bakes two loaves of bread because ya’ll end up eating one before you can use it for the rest of the week

- takes you to super fancy dinners and buys you a new outfit every time (also asks your opinion on the places so he can find a better place next time

- if you’re on the chubby side his hands are always going to find a way to your stomach pudge when you’re cuddling (he likes the squish don’t @ him)

- not really pertaining to him in particular but his family always asks about you when they call, regardless of what the call was for

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐨:

- pretends to flirt with you like he’s never met you before at bars because he finds it entertaining (if you reciprocate there’s a 99.9% chance you’re going to have a “one night stand” if you catch my drift)

- does typical “chivalrous” stuff like holding open doors for you, pulling out your chair when you sit, offering his coat when you’re cold, and buying you flowers every time he visits you (seriously EVERY time)

- lets you play with his hair and give him different hairstyles (don’t be surprised if he pulls up to a fight in space buns)

- gets aggravated when someone gets too friendly with you cause he’s ~possessive~

synopis: waking up to their embrace after staying at their place last night.

childe: when you wake up with sleepy eyes after coming home, to childe’s apartment you feel a loose arm around your waist. already noticing that the dull eyes have been staring at you before you had awaken. you cannot help but get flustered, as he presses a kiss to your head.

diluc: your back would be to his chest while he holds you by your waist, sleeping and nuzzled deep into your hair. he loved your aroma and scent and adored it so much. waking up to him is nice and cozy because he hardly snores and he usually wakes up after you do to say good morning.

itto: waking up to him is basically like being held by a huge teddy bear. he does snore a bit in the morning but perhaps it’s a sound you can get accustomed too. though if you wake up before him, he’ll just encourage you to go back to sleep.

kaeya: waking up to him feels like a short blessing, because he is so warm and hearing him praise and flirt with you at dawn is like the cherry on top. though a majority of the time his flirty comments makes you nervous so you end up burying your head into his shoulder.

kazuha: he always holds you upon his chest carefully, stroking the strands of your hair and saying good morning once your eyes meet the sun peaking through the windows. he’ll ask simple questions and always asking if you wanted to catch breakfast with him.

xiao: he generally likes to watch you fall asleep but the temptation and the urge to hold you, is way too strong which is why you awake in the morning to him pressing your head upon his chest while he tells you to go back to bed and kisses your forehead.

zhongli: oh archons, he is so gentle. he holds you very carefully and softly, making sure that you are safe in his warmth and embrace. he either has your head placed on his chest or shoulder to guarantee you comfort.

Xiao’s a bit reluctant, seeing himself as a weapon, simple touches are foreign to him. But when you cup his cheeks, or press your lips to his forehead, or even rub your thumb against his bloodstained knuckles- it is hard to resist, especially yours.

So he reaches out, careful to not accidentally scare you or worse- hurt you. He lets himself rest against your body, hiding his face in your neck. He finds himself longing for your kisses, silently asking you by pressing his own against your lips. He found that his hands hold more than just the blood of his enemies, but your heart as well. He now understands why mortals- lovers- cannot get enough of each other.

Albedo had been stuck in thought, only one occupying his mind. He had wondered why he only thought of you: your hands holding onto his when excited, or when you lean your head against his shoulder when you feel tiredness. Not only that, but why he had a sudden craving for it.

It started with subtle touches: fingers tracing the features of your face, his own hands guiding yours when helping him with experiments, small forehead kisses when greeting you. However, he felt as if it wasn’t enough. It was only when you were around that he felt his thoughts calm, when he was able to hold you, keeping him grounded.

General Gorou felt appreciated when you didn’t ask about touching his ears and tail, only giving glances every once in a while. Though it soon turned into worry; did you not like those features about him, or did you know about his apprehensiveness due to his past encounters with nosy soldiers?

Those worries went away very soon after when you did start asking, not just to pet them but how it felt to have them. It made him happy that you had a genuine curiosity towards it, giving you full permission to touch them when in private with him. Even then, he felt the need to sometimes shove his face into yours, needing to have your fingers brush out the knots accumulated in his fur, or so he said.

Aether was happy that you were just as touchy as he was. He was happy that you let him hold your hand when walking, giving you light kisses on your cheeks when he said his ‘good mornings’ and ‘good nights’, hold you tight against him when he felt as if the whole world was against him.

He found you to be his anchor, his rock, the one person whom he felt comfortable enough to let them hold him the same way he would a lover. The way you hold him to you, letting your fingers weave through his hair and whispering quietly to him, it almost was surreal. He would hide his overwhelming joy in your neck, placing small kisses there as well.

Scaramouche, the man who shed tears in his sleep, was only comforted by the one he called his true love. A private man he was, only showing an ounce of attention towards you out of public eye, but would make it obvious to anyone else if need be.

Thumbs drying his tears, bringing his ear to the only other heart he needed, he would hold on to his lover like his life depended on it. He would sometimes question your willingness to be with him, but when you kissed his forehead and didn’t bring up his sleepless tears, he understood that there would be no one else like you. He vowed only to protect you from the cruelty of the world.

Kazuha’s touches were as light as his words, they would hold just as much meaning. His haikus and poems would depict the most beautiful of sceneries, however, his lips against your face and his hands holding your own would leave you wondering if they were actually about you.

Drunken nights were a rarity, a light buzz would leave you both to ignore the outside world while you bask in each other’s presence. His head would be placed under yours while his fingers traced random patterns against your soft skin. You, on the other hand, would be fixated on his hair, as soft as his words. Delicate whispers of love surround the space you both share.

Stop because I will start yearning. You barely remember Aizawa from that time you met when you were young, but he remembers what your favorite flower is and fills your room with them when you arrive to stay at his palace. He's quiet, but attentive. All the workers are whispering and giggling when no one is around because he's so smitten with you and is always asking them to find out your favorite foods so they can be served at dinner, your favorite color so he can have dresses made for you, what book you were reading in the garden so he can read it as well and discuss it with you. your husband leads you down the hall into your own quarters, a brightly lit room, flowers draped from the windows and balcony.

They bring you more comfort than he could ever know-- the same flowers grow at your gardens.

"I want you to be happy here." he barely meets your eye before he turns into the hall, presumably to his own quarters, "Let the maids know if you need anything else."

You clutch on the the hem of his shirt and he stops, turning back to you in surprise.

"A-aren't we supposed to-?" you gesture to the bed, unsure of how to bring up the idea of your... martial duties.

"Supposed to?"

You run a thumb over the stitching of his clothes, pretending to admire the craftsmanship instead of avoiding his gaze.

"Sleep together." Worry creeps into your voice. You're no stranger to sex, but, as you look on to your husband, you can't help but realize how much of a stranger he really is. You know nothing about him but his name and yet you're expected to give your body, your life, over-

"If-" His hand clasps over yours, gentle and reassuring, "-we consumate this marriage, it won't be because we're supposed to. I would never ask you to do something you didn't want to do."

You squeeze his hand back. "Thank you." You wish you knew him better-- just well enough to read his expression, locked somewhere between sadness and something softer.

"It's your home too, my dear." Aizawa pulls away once again, "You deserve to feel comfortable."
