Summary: JUST TELL HIM ALREADY

Just Confess Already!!!

You were nursing a cup of coffee at the dimly lit bar the Phreaks called their second home. The music was low, a rare lull in the usual chaos that followed the gang. Across the room, Hazard was playing darts, his sharp eyes focused on the target. Every so often, he’d crack a joke or smirk at something Boomslang said, his laugh echoing in the space.

You couldn’t stop staring, your heart doing that stupid fluttering thing it always did when he was near. But no matter how much you felt, you couldn’t bring yourself to say anything.

“You’re pathetic, you know that?”

The sudden voice beside you made you jump, nearly spilling your coffee. You turned to see Boomslang leaning against the bar, her ever-present smirk firmly in place.

“Excuse me?” you said, raising an eyebrow.

“Don’t play dumb” she said, gesturing toward Hazard with his drink. “You’ve been making goo-goo eyes at him for months. Hell, maybe even years. When are you gonna grow a spine and tell him?”

You groaned, burying your face in your hands. “Not you too.”

“Oh, definitely me” she said, sliding into the stool next to you. “And you’re lucky, ‘cause I’m the nicest one in this group. If Susie were here, she’d—”

“If Susie were here, she’d what?”

You flinched as Susie appeared out of nowhere, her boots clunking against the floor as she crossed her arms and gave you a pointed look. “Don’t stop on my account, Boom. Go ahead, finish the thought.”

Boomslang grinned. “She’d give you hell, obviously. Right, Susie?”

Susie rolled her eyes and turned her attention to you. “Look, we’re not trying to be jerks. But seriously, what’s stopping you? Hazard isn’t a mind reader.”

“He doesn’t need to be” you muttered, staring into your coffee. “It’s obvious he’s not interested.”

Susie snorted. “Are you kidding me? Do you know how many times he’s asked me if you’re okay when you’re not around? Or how often he gets distracted during missions ‘cause he’s worried about you?”

Boomslang chimed in, “Not to mention the fact that he’s actually tolerable when you’re around. That’s a miracle all on its own.”

You frowned, your heart pounding. “You’re exaggerating.”

“Am I?” Susie leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a serious tone. “Listen, I’ve been around enough people to know when someone’s holding back. Hazard’s got his issues, sure, but he cares about you. Probably more than he even realizes. You just have to give him a reason to admit it.”

You shook your head, your stomach twisting. “It’s not that simple.”

“Nothing worth having ever is” Boomslang said, clinking her glass against yours. “But you’re running out of time, sweetheart. Guys like Hazard don’t stick around forever.”

Susie nodded, her expression uncharacteristically soft. “I’m not saying he’s gonna disappear tomorrow, but life happens fast in our world. If you wait too long, you might lose your chance. And trust me, regret’s a bitch.”

You glanced back at Hazard. He was laughing now, leaning against the dartboard as another member of the crew tried (and failed) to beat his score. He looked so carefree in that moment, so alive.

“I don’t even know how I’d do it” you admitted quietly.

Boomslang grinned. “That’s the easy part. You walk up to him and say, ‘Hey, Hazard, I’m into you.’ Boom. Done.”

Susie smacked her arm. “Ignore her. Just… be honest. Tell him how you feel, no games, no excuses. If he feels the same, great. If he doesn’t… well, at least you’ll know, right?”

You swallowed hard, the weight of their words settling over you. They were right—you’d been holding back out of fear, but that fear wasn’t going to disappear on its own. If you didn’t take the risk, you’d never know what could have been.

“I’ll think about it” you said, your voice shaky but determined.

Boomslang raised her glass in a mock toast. “That’s all we’re asking for. Just don’t take too long, yeah?”

Susie smirked. “And if you chicken out, don’t worry—we’ll happily push you in his direction.”

You groaned, but a small smile tugged at your lips. “Thanks… I think.”

As they walked away, you took a deep breath, your eyes drifting back to Hazard. The fear was still there, but so was something else—hope.

Maybe, just maybe, it was time to take the leap.

Just Confess Already!!!

The noise from the bar faded as you stepped out onto the balcony, the cool night air wrapping around you like a welcome reprieve. You sighed, leaning on the railing, the weight of your thoughts pressing down on you. This was the only quiet spot, far from the crowd—perfect for what you were about to do.

You pulled your jacket tighter around you, gathering the courage once more. You couldn’t keep pushing it aside—tonight had to be the night. You were tired of hiding your feelings, of pretending you didn’t care. Hazard deserved to know, no matter what came next.

Just as you were about to speak, the door creaked open behind you. You turned to see Hazard stepping out onto the balcony, his eyes scanning the space for a moment before settling on you.

“What’re you doin’ out here?” he asked, his tone casual but curious.

You shrugged, playing with the hem of your sleeve. “Needed some air. A lot things have been… on my mind.”

Hazard’s brow furrowed slightly as he approached, his usual cool expression softening. “Ye a’right?”

You hesitated for a second, then let out a nervous laugh. “No, actually. I’ve been kinda a mess.”

Hazard stepped closer, now standing beside you, his presence quiet but steady. “A mess? What’s got you in such a state?”

You sighed, turning to face him fully. “Look, I didn’t come out here to waste time. I needed to say something.”

Hazard’s sharp gaze sharpened. “Aye? What’s on your mind, then?”

You took a deep breath, gathering every ounce of courage you had left. “I’ve been wanting to tell you something for a while. And I can’t keep pretending anymore… I like you, Hazard. I like you more than I should.”

His lips twitched into a subtle smirk, and you could tell he wasn’t surprised—but it still made your nerves tangle. “Oh?” he murmured, his voice soft but with that familiar teasing edge.

“Yes” you continued, feeling more confident now that the words were out. “And… I don’t want to pretend it doesn’t mean anything anymore. I care about you.”

Hazard’s smirk grew, but it wasn’t mocking—more like… intrigued. “You’ve been carryin’ this for a while, haven’t you?”

You nodded, unable to hide the blush rising in your cheeks. “Yes. And I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I—”

Before you could say more, Hazard took a step forward, closing the small distance between you. His expression softened, his gaze steady. “You should’ve told me sooner, then.”

Your breath hitched. “I was scared. What if I messed things up?”

Hazard chuckled softly, shaking his head. “You’re braver than most I’ve met, Ach, I've seen ye punch guys twice yer size Luv. But you don’t need to worry ‘bout that.”

You frowned slightly, confused. “What do you mean?”

He sighed, running a hand through his hair before locking eyes with you again. “I’ve known for a while now… I’ve been feelin’ the same.”

Your heart skipped, the weight of his words settling in. “What?”

Hazard gave you a small, amused smirk. “Aye, I’ve been feelin’ the same way about you.”

For a moment, you were speechless. Your mind couldn’t process it.

“You’ve felt this too?” you whispered, disbelief washing over you.

“Aye” Hazard replied, his expression serious now, but with that familiar quiet confidence. “Just didn’t want to ruin what we had.”

You blinked, your mind reeling. You couldn’t believe it—he’d felt the same for so long, and yet, he’d never said a word. And now, here you were, finally hearing it from him.

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” you exclaimed, throwing your hands up in disbelief. “Do you have any idea the amount of nights I’ve stayed up thinking about you!? I mean I must look like a damn dog waiting for y—”

But before you could finish, Hazard stepped closer, his hand gently cupping your cheek. He leaned in, cutting you off mid-rant with a soft, sure kiss on the lips—firm but tender, grounding and real.

Your eyes widened in surprise, but your breath caught in your throat, melting into the kiss. It was unlike anything you’d imagined—something more, something you hadn’t realized you needed.

He pulled back just slightly, his Scottish accent thick and warm as he murmured, “Now, does that feel like ruinin’ anything to you?”

You blinked, your heart fluttering wildly. No—this felt right. More than right. And you couldn’t help but smile, your hands gripping the edge of his shirt slightly.

“No… it doesn’t” you whispered, feeling a warmth bloom in your chest.

Hazard smirked again, leaning in just enough so his breath brushed against your ear. “Good. ‘Cause you’ve got me now, and I’m not goin’ anywhere.”

You felt a rush of relief—of certainty—that this wasn’t just a fleeting moment. This was real.

And finally, you let yourself believe it.

A digital illustration of Cayde-6 and Sundance from Destiny 2 as blue ghostly apparitions. They are leaning against ruins in the EDZ, where vegetation and trees are lush. In the distance the shard of The Traveler can be seen. Fireflies are also shown through zipping orange lights and those that are more still. The illustration is detailed and painterly, textured brushstrokes combined with digital gradients and transparency especially on the characters.

My entry for @d2artevents’s Solar Embrace Zine!

I think it is only fitting for me to paint something more laid back and featuring fireflies and a lovable space cowboy and his Ghost.

Also I was listening to a lot of Ori music. lol

thunder - genji shimada x reader

so i felt like genji and hurt/comfort so here u go lol

warnings: angst??

word count: 1200+

Being in Blackwatch had its advantages. For one, rules were laxer, because Commander Reyes was pretty cool for a CO. You also got to learn more skills that might not be as legal as Overwatch allowed.

But of course, there were also disadvantages. The major one being the budget.

Since Blackwatch wasn’t really supposed to exist, less money was given to fund it than if it was a division known by the general public.

So that meant that multiple agents had to share one room.

Lucky for you, you ended up bunking with your closer comrades, Jesse McCree and Genji Shimada.

You were close to Jesse, and Genji? Well, you just happened to have a soft spot for Genji.

You three shared a bathroom and living area, and it actually wasn’t as bad as you’d expected. Sure, Jesse snored, and Genji left his clothes on the floor a lot, but you could deal with that.

Living in close quarters brought the three of you closer, which was definitely a pro. Learning more about one another helped you bond, which helped teamwork out on the field.

It was a normal Tuesday night. You were lying on your back, staring at the ceiling, while Jesse was already in a deep sleep, snoring away happily. Tossing and turning, you pulled your blanket around yourself, trying to get comfy.

There was a storm raging outside. Through the windows, you could see lightning striking the other buildings outside. This type of storm was the perfect weather to sleep through, yet you just couldn’t.

Through the thunder and Jesse’s snores, you managed to hear a noise that seemed to come from Genji; a jagged inhale of breath. The kind that you made when you cried.

You glanced in the direction of his bed. “Genji?”

The noise stopped.

You tried again. “Genji? You okay?”

“No.”

His voice was cracked and raspy, and you could barely hear him.

You slipped out of your bed, and walked to his bed, your feet padding softly on the floor. Thunder sounded in the distance, and in the dark, you could see him curled up in a ball, shivering.

You knelt next to him, asking softly, “Genji? What’s wrong?”

“I…” He took a deep breath. “The storm. The thunder.”

He was afraid of the thunder.

You awkwardly patted his shoulder, murmuring, “there, there,” in the most soothing tone you could muster.

“Do you need anything?”

He nodded. “A glass of water?”

You sprung up, making a beeline for the pitcher of water on the counter. Soon, Genji was sitting upright in his bed, sipping on a cup of water, his red eyes glowing weakly.

You sat cross-legged on the floor, waiting patiently for something; an explanation, a request, anything. You took the sight in: Genji Shimada, stoic, seemingly fearless cyborg ninja, deadly assassin, hunched over in a ball, mask off, shivering.

You sort of expected an explanation, yet you were surprised when he spoke.

“Do you know why I am like this?” He said, putting down the cup and gesturing to his body. He sounded pained, and you worried that you were pressuring him.

“It’s completely fine, you don’t have to tell me, Genji -”

He cut into your sentence halfway, saying, “No. I want to tell you.”

“Okay. To tell you the truth, I have heard rumours. It was…” You swallowed. “Your brother?”

He nodded solemnly. His eyes glowed a bit brighter, and he flinched as thunder boomed through the sky.

“My brother attacked me, and left me for dead. Then Overwatch found me, and saved me, in exchange for my services as a living weapon.”

He sounded bitter, and you felt a sudden urge to tackle him in a hug.

“That night, when he nearly murdered me, it - it was raining heavily. I remember lying there for hours, lost in the fog of my own pain. I was on the verge of death when they found me. And all I heard as I laid there was thunder, sounding over and over again, like knives to my ears.”

Tears were streaming down his face.

Your heart hurt for him. Nobody should ever have to go through what Genji went through. His brother was a sick bastard.

Acting on impulse, you let go of your restraint and hugged him, as tight as you could. He was so cold, and you felt him stiffen before he put his arms around you and hugged back.

The two of you stayed there, in a tight embrace, and whenever Genji flinched at the thunder, you whispered comforting words into his ear and hugged him tighter.

Soon, he pulled away, and he found yourself missing the warmth. He sniffled. “I’m sorry you had to see that.”

“I’m sorry you had to go through everything. You don’t deserve any of this.” You gestured wildly.

He stayed silent, hesitating before he asked, “Would you stay with me? For tonight?”

You practically melted. “Of course.”

Genji lay down, as you slipped under the sheets with him, putting your arms around his body. You nuzzled your face into his neck, sighing contentedly as warmth spread through your body.

“Good night, Genji,” You mumbled, placing a kiss on his neck.

It seemed like he got hotter, temperature-wise.

“Good night, Y/N.”

***

The next morning, you woke to see Jesse wearing a shit-eating grin as he stared down at the two of you.

“Never would’ve pegged you as the big spoon, Y/N.”

You stuck your tongue out at him as you glanced at Genji, who was still asleep. You couldn’t move, or you could risk waking him up.

Aww. He looks so precious when he’s sleeping. Like an angel.

“You two are going to be late for breakfast at this rate.”

You shush him, glaring at the cowboy. “Go away, McCree. I don’t care if I’m late.”

Jesse pulled open the door, tossing a final, “I think Reyes would care, but have it your way” before leaving.

With as minimal movement as possible, you gaze down at Genji’s sleeping face. Who cares if you were late for breakfast, or maybe even training? As long as it was for Genji, you’d be okay with it.

You swept a loose hair away from his face, hesitating, and placed a light kiss on his cheek.

A blush spread across his face, and his cybernetic vents opened to release steam.

You raised an eyebrow. “Genji?” You whispered. “Are you awake?”

He slowly opened his eyes, one at a time. “No?” He answered, but it came out more like a question. He smiled sheepishly, and your mouth fell open in shock.

“Holy shit,” You muttered.

He tensed, dropping the smile. “What?”

You shook your head. “Nothing. It’s just that I’ve never seen you smile before. You should do it more, you look so beautiful.”

He released steam again, blushing.

You leaned in, eyes fixed on his lips.

Noticing this, he got visibly nervous, licking his lips.

You wanted to ask if you could kiss him, but as you opened your mouth, Commander Reyes’ voice blared through the holofeed speaker in your quarters.

“Agents Shimada and L/N, get your asses to breakfast, or you’ll have to run ten laps ‘round the base.”

You straightened up, disappointment weighing in your bones. Trying to make the best of it, you offered a hand to Genji. “Come on. Let’s go to breakfast,” you said, smiling softly at him.

He took your hand.

Ticklish Bear

Hazard x Reader

A/N: AAUUGGHH I LOVE THE WAY THAT YOU THINK (WHY DIDENT I THINK THAT THIS COULDVE WORKED IN SO MANY SCENARIOS)

Summary: Hazard just wants to tune his guitar…

The dim glow of the city lights filtered through the window as you sat beside Hazard on the floor of his small apartment. A half-empty bottle of whiskey rested on the table nearby, his idea of a “relaxing night.” He was leaned back against the couch, his guitar balanced across his lap, fingers absently picking out a haunting melody that seemed to match the low hum of the world outside.

You watched him silently, captivated by the way his hands moved—so sure, so precise. His cybernetic fingers glinted faintly in the light, but it was the smooth transition from flesh to metal at his neck that caught your eye. Right at the base of his skull, just beneath the implants, there was a sliver of exposed skin that seemed softer than the rest of him.

“You’re starin” he said without looking up, his Scottish accent pulling you from your thoughts.

“Maybe I am” you admitted, leaning a little closer.

“Careful” he muttered, his lips quirking into a faint smirk. “Ye keep lookin’ at me like that, and I might think ye’ve got plans.”

“Maybe I do” you shot back, voice light with mischief.

He chuckled under his breath but kept playing, the gentle melody filling the space between you. Emboldened by the moment, you reached out and lightly brushed your fingers against the nape of his neck, where flesh met cybernetics.

The reaction was immediate. His entire body stiffened, and his hand froze mid-strum. A sharp inhale escaped him, followed by a muttered, “Christ!.” He twisted to look at you, his glowing eyes narrowing.

“What the hell was that?” he asked, his voice tight, the faintest edge of a tremor betraying him.

“What was what?” you replied innocently, though you couldn’t stop the grin forming on your lips.

“Dinnae play dumb wi’ me” he said, rubbing the back of his neck with his cybernetic hand, careful to avoid the spot you’d touched. “Ye know exactly whit ye did.”

“I barely touched you” you said, scooting closer.

“That’s the problem” he muttered, shifting uncomfortably. “It’s—ach, it’s just sensitive there, alright?”

“Sensitive how?” you asked, curiosity sparking as you leaned in.

“Sensitive like—don’t bloody touch it again” he grumbled, though the faint flush creeping up his neck was impossible to miss.

You didn’t listen, of course. Reaching out, you brushed your fingers over the spot again, lighter this time. His reaction was immediate—he shivered, his shoulders jerking as a muffled curse escaped him.

“Are you ticklish?” you asked, your grin widening.

He shot you a glare that could’ve melted steel. “I’m no’ ticklish” he growled, though the pink blooming on his face told another story.

“You’re definitely ticklish” you teased, leaning closer.

“Touch me there again, and I’ll—”

“You’ll what?”

Hazard sighed, letting go of your wrist, but only to grab his guitar and set it on the table behind him. “Keep pushin’ yer luck, lass, and I’ll show ye squirm” he muttered, his voice low and teasing now.

“Is that a threat or a promise?” you asked, your grin widening as you inched closer to him.

He raised an eyebrow at you, his glowing eyes narrowing. “It’s a bloody guarantee” he said, and before you could react, his hands—both flesh and metal—moved toward your sides.

You squealed as his fingers dug lightly into your ribs, tickling you relentlessly. “H-Hazard! Stop!” you gasped, squirming and laughing uncontrollably as you tried to wiggle away.

“Ye wanted tae play, aye?” he said, his tone smug as he continued. “We’ll see how ye like it.”

“Okay, okay, I give up!” you cried, breathless from laughter.

He finally stopped, leaning back with a satisfied smirk. “That’s what I thought.”

You glared at him half-heartedly, still catching your breath. “You’re evil.”

“Aye” he said, his grin widening. “But ye love me anyway.”

You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t help smiling. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

He chuckled, reaching for the whiskey bottle and taking a swig. “Damn right I am.”

Bayverse ideas I found cool

What it says on the tin :D ~ Not saying that all these are ideas are wasted in Bayverse btw, some worked just fine within the movies, some could have used more depth and some are indeed wasted potential, SAY GO!

1. Jazz as second in command of the Autobots 2. Decepticon Police Car Barricade 3. Mikaela, just, everything about her 4. Girl Gestalt Arcee, Chromia and Elita 5. Humans and Autobots working together - like, seriously! I would have enjoyed these movies so much more if instead of following Sam, we had Lennox as the main character and had scene his team bonding with the Autobots as they work together to catch Decepticons. I would have loved to see that happen, but alas, we just have the concept and one like from Epps when he says "they killed my friends" while referring to the Autobots in Dark of the Moon 6. Old man Jetfire 7. The whole Sentinel storyline - would have made a far better story if they had given it more to time, but I really liked the idea and what we got! 8. Humanity turning against the Autobots - this is something I always assumed would happen in the shows in which the Bots are common knowledge - the good thing about this is how it leads to good character arcs and drama for the Autobots, mainly Optimus Prime. His arc (carried over from the end of Dark of the Moon) in Age of Extinction was good! Liked it a lot and it made me love this version of Optimus! Not as well written as it could have been, but the idea is great and they did a good-enough job with it. 9. Laserbeak as a cocky assassin who can shapeshift - great stuff, great stuff :D 10. Shockwave and his giant pet sandworm 11. Optimus starting the 4th movie as broken as he was 12. Having a dad as the Protagonist and drawing clear parallels to him and Prime - I found it cute and they actually stuck with this in the final :D Also, Optimus and Cade is maybe my favourite dynamic any version of Prime has with a human 13. Cade being fucking badass and doing what he does for the Autobots 14. Crosshairs, mostly his design - his trenchcoat looks so epic! <3 15. Lockdown, I liked his role in the 4th movie a lot 16. Megatron's whole plan to use the humans to make him a new body - nice plan pal 17. Quintessa 18. Optimus being brainwashed instead of Nemesis Prime being a clone - and being forced to turn against his family! Super angst source, too bad they didn't manage to make it good 19. The whole negotiation scene between Megs and Lennox was nice - I wish it had meant anything 20. The Dinobot babies
