What’s Shadow’s true purpose?

So Shadow’s loyalty is often forgotten what with the fanon marking him as edgy

 and a lone wolf, but it’s there and it makes me mad that people pass it off 

because it’s a big part of his character. 

 But okay so like. Usually most people interpret Shadow’s purpose was to be 

made for Maria and to help the world right? Right. So when Maria dies he thinks

 his purpose is revenge. WRONG. He gets that epiphany when Amy reminds 

him about it. 

 But that’s not it 

 Because okay, Maria wanted Shadow to protect the world. And for awhile 

maybe Shadow interprets this as “okay I gotta be Mobius’ hero.” But! He realizes

that that place is already taken. Sonic is Mobius’ hero and therefore he is literally

 the world. He’s usually the only one that can fix the world when it goes into peril.

 (The only other person to ever majorly save the world by himself was Shadow) 

so Shadow realizes, it’s not Mobius in general he has to be there for, but Sonic. 

The world can thrive as long as Sonic is their world, their core. 

 In a sense you could say that Shadow sees his new Maria in Sonic. In order for

 his purpose to be fulfilled, Sonic needs to stay kicking. That’s why we see in 06 

that he literally doesn’t look at him when he’s dead!!! Their world is broken 

because Sonic is prematurely gone from it. It’s not until Silver says “we still have

 a chance at saving this world!” That Shadow FINALLY LOOKS TO SONIC 

WITH A BROKEN VOICE AND SAYS “maybe we could’ve..if he were still alive.” 

 AND ITS LITERALLY THE LAST STRING IN HIS PURPOSE BEING SEVERED. 

 Sonic and Shadow were fated to meet for a reason. Shadow was supposed to 

meet Sonic because his purpose was to protect the world like a Shadow. HE’S 

SONIC’S SHADOW. HE’S SUPPOSED TO PROTECT SONIC SO THE WORLD

 MAY REMAIN SAFE. 

 Like I’m sure SEGA didn’t mean to be that deep and only meant to make them 

rivals but SEGAAA oh my god you literally made Maria tell Shadow “you’re to 

watch over this world, like a shadow!” And people mistook Shadow!! for Sonic!! 

Because he’s Sonic’s shadow!! He’s supposed to watch over Sonic!! Girl if that

 ain’t some metaphorical stuff!!

 LIKE IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. SHADOWS LIKE NO NONSENSE 

RESPONSES TO SONIC ASKING FOR HELP ISNT JUST BECAUSE THEYRE 

ALLIES, ITS BECAUSE HE KNOWS THATS HIS JOB. AND ALSO? ALL THE 

TIMES HE PROTECTS HIM FROM GETTING HURT ISNT THAT BULLSHIT

 THAT PEOPLE SAY LIKE “oh man it’s because he wants to be the one to kill 

him, nobody else can” WRONG. ITS BECAUSE HE HAS TO KEEP SONIC 

SAFE 

 another example of that is him going into hiding upon finding out about Sonic’s 

“death” in Forces. Every time this bitch finds out that Sonic’s dead he literally 

loses himself. Even if people don’t ship this, it doesn’t have to be seen like that. 

Shadow cares deeply for Sonic because Sonic is his purpose. 

 And that’s the tea.

I believe that in the blackwatch period he would be very insecure about his new body, and really thought that you would stop liking him because of it.

But for his happiness and yours, you liked and accepted him the way he was.

You didn't care if genji was a cyborg, you loved that about him

It’s been about a year since I put these up so I thought it was about time for a bit of an update. I’ve added the most recent comic from Free Comic Book Day about Joker, put placeholders for the new series Foundation and updated all the links.

First off, none of these files were created by me, they have come from various places and friends when I wanted digital copies of the books and comics in addition to my hard copies. So thank you to all the kind people who have uploaded these over the past few years.

Unlike when he was a teen, Genji is slow with his love, being cautious to show who he is to people he didn’t fully know or trust yet. He was scared that his scars and body, or lack there of, would make the person he loved feel repulsed.

That fear still lingered in your 3rd month of dating when you had noticed him avoiding the subject of physical intimacy, or even showing you his face or body often. Whenever you’d bring it up he’d conveniently have a meeting or a mission to get ready for and avoid you for a few hours until he’d figured you’d dropped the subject.

Today you finally wanted to open the subject back up, deciding that it’d be best to ask when you both were home so you waited around for him. You lit candles in the living room and set up a bunch of blankets to ensure he’d be comfortable when he got home.

Later on he returned, tiered from the day. He instantly noticed the warm smell of the house as he took off his shoes before he joined you in the living room.

“What is all of this?” He asks, sitting on the plush couch cushion next to you, the material sinking beneath his weight. You figured it was now or never, if it was an answer you didn’t want to hear at least you’d know in stead of worrying that it was you.

“Genji- honey I know that you don’t like talking about stuff like this but I need you to listen” you start, taking his hands into yours, brushing your thumbs over his knuckles soothingly. He stiffens up, looking away from you.

“I understand if it’s just not something you want or- even like but I just want to know…” you sigh, collecting you thoughts before continuing.

“Why don’t you want to kiss me?” the words burn your throat as they come out, a slight embarrassment festering in your chest as he sat silent for a moment.

“It’s not you” he sighs, the realization of his attitude regarding the subject setting in. He does feel guilty that you’ve been waiting so long to know why but he still feels like he’s doing you a favor.

“Then what is it? I promise whatever it is I will be fine with it” you say, shifting to sit closer to him while facing him. The cold metal of his hands had slowly warmed under your touch, the coldness of his work slowly fading.

“I just… I don’t want to disgust you” he mutters, shrinking away from your warmth with a shudder. You stare at him for a moment, contemplating what he could possibly mean.

“Genji I could never be disgusted by you” you reassure, soft hands meeting the jaw of his mask, your fingers grazing the clips holding it in place. His hands quickly covered yours, a pained look in his eyes. He hated hiding from you but he could feel in his soul that you would be utterly repulsed by what you saw beneath the metal plating.

Regardless of his resistance you removed the covering, silently reassuring him with a warm smile. He closed his eyes as your hands met his tattered skin, warmth spreading over the surface.

He was shocked to say the least when he began to feel your lips pressing soft kisses on his scars, lipgloss transferring to his skin, leaving shiny residue.

“Oh Genji” you sighed, taking in his face in full as though it’d be the last time you’d see it.

“I don’t care what you look like, I’ll love you regardless” you whisper as he forces his eyes open to find a genuine smile on your face, is eyes brimming with tears that threatened to fall over his cheeks.

Without another word he leaned in and met your lips, hands shaking as he held you close. He could feel the heat of his cheeks worsening as his cheeks grew wet with tears, happy tears.

“I love you”

Cayde and Ikora's friendship is very important to me specifically because Cayde never feels like he's good enough to be Ikora's friend. Guess what bud??? you isssss

Cayde was swamped. Since the threat of Crota had appeared on the horizon it was all reasonable hands on deck. Xander sent him a dozen reports and mission requests a day at least, often more. Cayde hadn't been Vanguard long enough to see what it was like when the Legion had something to sink it's teeth in to. And it was all important because he needed to get this stuff to Ikora and Zavala so they all could coordinate with Eris and maybe have a moment to reign Kass in as she stalked across the Russian steppe looking for any Hive to blow to smithereens. Hard keeping a hand on that girl. She just did whatever she wanted and how the fuck was a guy like Cayde supposed to handle her? And even without the Legion and Kass and Crota occupying his mind there were also dozens of mission requests and reports from Hunters and those who wanted to hire out their services. Sometimes he was grateful he was an EXO so he didn't get headaches because this would do it.

He looked up from his stack of reports he was organizing with Sundance when Ikora got to her feet. Zavala had left some time ago to go have some meeting or something with the Factions. Or maybe the Speaker? He'd not been paying too much attention. Her 'out' box was full and her own 'in' reports was a stalk a third of Cayde's. He tried not to be resentful. Ikora had been doing this longer, had been Vanguard during dire situations like this. She knew how to handle herself.

"You also leaving me to my own devices?" he joked. "Tired of seeing my mess," it was only sort of sarcastic. A lot of times Cayde's work and reports could consume the entire half of the table and the rest of it not reserved for Ikora and Zavala. He liked being able to see everything at once!

Ikora didn't smile but her eyebrows did move in a way Cayde had learned to interpret as amusement. "No, Zavala called me to join him in his meeting with Xander to discuss allocating Titan and Warlock resources to the Legion temporarily," she said.

Cayde sighed theatrically. "Of course, gotta go to a meeting with your fave Hunter and Big Blue. What am I supposed to do while you're gone?" as if the answer wasn't obvious. Finish his work. He'd be here all night though.

Ikora's face didn't move but her brows creased. He wasn't quite sure what that emotion was. Cayde had been Vanguard a few decades but some of Ikora's 'emotions' were still unknowable to him. "No he's staying here and keeping watch over the Hall," she said, almost befuddled.

Cayde was surprised when his voice box cracked as he said, "You got it, I'll hold down the fort." And what the fuck was wrong with his voice? He couldn't control the speaker in the back of his skull that acted as his voice but it was coming out almost... distorted?

"See that you do," Ikora said and left. Cayde stared after her.

Sundance flew up next to him. "That's cute! You're her favorite," she said cheerfully.

"Pft, yeah right," he scoffed and had to clear his throat to settle the sudden buzzing in his nerves. He couldn't get his voice box to chill out though and it kept making a noise that was almost unhearable and more a low vibration in his skull so it made all his servos and bolts shiver.

"Are you... crying?" Sundance asked him.

"What! No," he almost shouted.

"You look like you are," Sundance said smugly and floated around in front of him. "You're doing that flickering eye thing EXOs do."

"I am not. Shut up," he looked away from her and back at her reports. "You're distracting me. What was I doing?" he more said to himself. Sundance just giggled and highlighted the report he'd been looking at before Ikora had left. He picked it up. Right. This one. He leaned over the table so his hood hid the front of his face and looked down at the report.

"I think it's sweet," Sundance said nicely. "I'm glad you and Ikora are friends."

"Pft, yeah right," Cayde said dismissively. "Now quiet I'm trying to read this report," which he was having a hard time doing because of the vibrating from his voice box. He stood there staring at it, not able to even really read it, until the vibrating finally stopped and his vision cleared. Thank the Traveler Ikora or Zavala wasn't there to see him do that!

TFP: Elita-One

So here is a long long bio for Elita-1 and my story for her in my AU !

Formerly Ariel, she was once a council worker on Cybertron, specializing in supervision of all sorts of workers from mid and lower castes. She could have done far greater, as she had been gifted by the Well of AllSparks with the ability to change her form not just twice but three times total, to walk on legs, wheels or fly.

Yet she still chose to work where she did. Grunt work, in comparison to the great Senators and other somewhat rulers of Cybertronian society but…Ariel loved her line of work. It kept her humble, in comparison to great many of her councilmen and women who did otherwise.

So, Ariel spent many many times seeing how they worked, as well as going to the record halls, studying what she could to ensure she did her work correctly. That was how she met, then Orion Pax.

The two were close, as he often fetched her the necessary data of her work, and would speak with her about all kinds of things. Be it speaking of the caste system, history, myth, legends and so much more. It was only natural thus that she fell for him, and he for her.

Of course, then all changed as Megatronus and Orion crossed paths, and tensions rose, when Orion was deemed worthy of a Prime by the council. Ariel, who had sided with Orion, made it clear to the council that this caste system was by no means a benefit to anyone, made her voice heard and…paid the price dearly for it. If she wanted to advocate for the lower caste, then she would live as lower caste.

Sentenced to the docks, she was. Made to toil in them day and night, as rebellions stirred further and further…till Megatron came to be, and Optimus Prime was reborn. When alliances came to be, factions decided and each parted from one another.

Ariel, found by the Autobots after an attack on the docks, was heavily damaged. Awakening to a medbay, she was delighted and saddened to be reunited with Orion,now Optimus. Had they lived another life, perhaps things would be different. So, that night, Ariel died. In name and frame, she was remade and rebuilt by the medics, and chose a new name for herself. If the council thought herself so elite, then she would take that name. Elita-1.

She rose the autobot ranks, using her knowledge from her former line of work to coordinate attacks, recruit and train soldiers of all kinds.

Then came the grand Exodus, and Elita-1 was forced apart from her Conjunx, having only committed themselves to each other a week before. He had given her the coordinates for Earth, to follow him, but she couldn't follow aboard his ship, as she and the last of her team would forge a distraction till they made it out.

And when that was secured, and she was the only one left standing, she boarded a ship of her own, broken as it was, but it was something still. The damage was substancial, especially as Cons found her, and alone, she could do nothing but chart her course…and jump into a cryo-stasis pod, and wish that Primus would keep her safe. That she would make it to this new planet in one piece…and that maybe, Optimus would be there when she made it.
