I always wonder what Rick told the emergency services/what they concluded about Beth and Diane's deaths. I assume the official conclusion was probably something along the lines of 'one of Rick’s inventions exploded and ended up killing his wife and daughter' but what did Rick himself tell them? Was he too shellshocked to say anything and the neighbours filled in the gaps? Did he tell them the truth and they wrote it off as shock/grief? Did he tell them the truth but in an ambiguous way (e.g. ‘it was my fault’)? Did he lie?
the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

#Man sure has a high tolerance before going insane, otherwise I can't imagine how can he even start writing a word.
And the most terrifying question of all may be just how much horror the human mind can stand and still maintain a wakeful, staring, unrelenting sanity.”
Stephen King, Pet Sematary.
