Fenceline weaning the home herd... about 90 mamas. Calves 7 to 8 months old. Dry and running out of grass.
Vaccinated 90+ calves and their mamas today in Frio County. This is our injections setup. Thanks goes to our dad for the old dishwasher basket. The Multimin is hanging on the other side of the chute. It was a perfect day cooler than 60 degrees. Mar. 2020
A410 chillin' in the brush! He's serviced all the girls and needs to relax. 1 of 6 bulls on the home place breeding 120 cows. 7/2019 in south Texas.
Is this real?
My niece is fascinated with the Cicada Hawk! She took this second picture of it guarding its as yet unemergent young which are consuming a cicada in and underground chamber under the steps of the back porch.
A new nurse! The sweet heart is half Holstein and half Jersey and 6 years old. It took her a day or two but she accept her first charge. These Angus have twins with some regularity so a nurse cow is a good thing! Two nurse cows with 3 'kicked off' calves so far. 012919
