Everyday I wake as though nothings wrong.
As though i'm not pleading for another body
A body that's mine and not the daughter the ought for me to be.
Playing pretend to be the one they expect
Just to look at myself in disgust for I can't tell who's staring back at me.
Is it me? Or is it an empty shell that is the body I dare not call mine?
