it is gray and overcast….when i think of my life, all that which has passed…it seems like a bad dream…..its substance withers by the day….images, some vivid, some faded, some distorted….old songs, dead pets….the figures of my parents rendered almost meaningless….there is only this moment, this awful standstill….but the notion of death offers no comfort to me….

The Baron Empain Palace (Qasr el Baron, or The Palais Hindou) is a distinctive and historic mansion in Heliopolis, a suburb northeast of central Cairo, Egypt.

The palace was designed by French architect Alexandre Marcel and decorated by Georges-Louis Claude. Inspired by the Angkor Wat in Cambodia, it was built between 1907 and 1911, in reinforced concrete.

The Palace is located in one of the elite suburbs near the presidential Palace and is founded over a rotating base which rotates the palace to access sun beam in all directions !

Himmler says the execution of homosexuals was “not punishment but simply the extinction of abnormal life” (Herzog 35). In 1937, Himmler declared that any member of the SS convicted of homosexuality must be executed. Because Himmler felt that homosexuality was caused by lack of feminine contact, he often promoted female prostitution. The National Socialist regime’s goal was to eradicate homosexual behavior and not the “homosexual” himself, although the end result was often the same (Heger 96). They often believed that this could be done through re-education or castration.
