Those who are hating on Simon for leaving Wilhelm and trying to move on so quick or willing to be a secret in the end...let me rehash your memories from s1 shall I?
1. Simon never gave a damn about Wilhelm being a Prince. He is anti-monarchist and subtly told off Wilhelm in their first class. Simon liked Wilhelm for the shy little disaster that he was. So when Simon made a move at him, he didn’t realize the complications that came with being a Prince.
2. But then Wilhelm told him to forget about the kiss and he realized that maybe Wilhelm wont want to come out and that's the first time he realizes this. But then Wille wants to spend the weekend with him so he forgives him thinking that maybe Wille is confused about his sexuality. Then Erik dies and Wilhelm again pushes him away. But again Simon forgives him because he understands how sad and depressed and what a messy situation Wilhelm is in.
3. But when Wilhelm denies the video, it just breaks something in Simon. Simon doesn’t mind keeping their relationship private, he basically did that the entirety of s1. But Simon realized that their relationship is something that needs to be hidden for Wilhelm and his family. It's like a dirty secret that can't come out. And whenever it will come between Wilhelm's family and Simon, Wilhelm will easily dispose Simon and choose his family over. And that's what Simon refuse to be,forever a secret, something to be pushed aside.
4. His animosity didn’t come from him not understanding Wilhelm's position. It came from Wilhelm trying to win him back when nothing changed. Simon doesn’t trust Wilhelm anymore to not push him aside when things get hard.
5. Simon dating Marcus was just him trying to move on. And trying to explore what it likes to be to be with someone openly. Maybe to hurt Wilhelm a little as well for treating him like a secret.
6. The reason why Simon eventually agrees to be a secret is because he understands through the course of s2 that him and Wilhelm are it for each other, there is no moving on from each other. And Wilhelm truly loves him and with time he will acknowledge their relationship publicly. Simon no longer associated keeping their relationship private as being a dirty secret. It was just a way to preserve Wilhelm's and his life and privacy.
So Simon's rebound, Wilhelm and his fights, his inner conflicts, all these plots were on point to show his character development. Sometimes as an audience we don't like a lot of things. But that doesn’t mean that we are right. We may want a lot of things but sometimes these sort of conflicts make stories and characters better.
Steve Rogers: Diligent. Politically, scientifically, anatomically, emotionally correct. Posts on time. Sticks to the schedule and their own well-mapped-out-and-classic-plot. Actually enjoys constructive criticism because it will help them improve but has been known to reply with, “Well, actually...” Always trying to help. He could do this all day. Annoying but has good intentions.
Bucky Barnes: A writing machine in Winter Mission Mode when a plot idea takes over their minds. In between missions they are lost and shopping for plums in a Romanian farmer’s market. Has moments where they can’t remember how to write themselves out of writostasis. Easily triggered by words. Eternal Internal Screaming. Made a grave mistake letting Steve Rogers beta their stories. Might be a mess. Might need rehab.
Tony Stark: Intelligent and knows it. Clearly educated, knows synonyms and metaphors without needing to look them up. Writes elaborate, scientifically correct stories. Reads up on thermonuclear physics just for fun research. Has an explanation for literally everything. Has a literary device for every plot hole. Obnoxious but when you need to read something reliably good, they deliver. Exhausted by constantly trying to prove and improve themselves. Sometimes forgets how to human. Wants to give advice that nobody asked for. Hard to like until you get to know them. Is a little lonely maybe.
Peter Parker: New kid on the scene. Wants to be liked. Writes A LOT. Posts A LOT. Wants A LOT of comments. Uses a lot of =))))))))) in the writer notes. Latches onto senior writers and wants to be in a clique. Often shoot their loads prematurely. Frequently gets some very good plot ideas but currently lacking the perfect execution. Unsure if wants to be a serial fluff writer or tackle more serious and mature concepts. Gets stuck in their own web of plot holes but tries very hard.
Loki: Professional shit-stirrer of the fandom. You’re never sure if they’re your friend or not. Spends more time being contrary than actually writing. Sometimes leaves stories with cliffhangers that never reach a conclusion. Deliberately writes NOTPs just for fun. Needs constant validation from an audience. Is actually quite talented if they bothered to focus their energy on writing and not bickering. Just wants to be liked (on the down low.)
Wanda Maximoff: Might be a hack. Might be a genius. Has tapped into The Power of Knowledge but doesn’t actually know how to harness it into a coherent story. Flashes of brilliance followed swiftly by flashes of despair and self-loathing. Powerful but poor discipline. Likely to destroy and delete their stories on a whim because some words don’t look right or their aim was slightly off that day. Notorious for abandoning ideas and leaving a trail of incomplete stories in their wake.
Thanos: Trigger Warning-Character Death. A total sadist. The writers you get a little worried about.
Peter Quill: Hilarious. Jokes every two sentences. Pop culture references and always puts soundtrack links in their author notes. A gift for natural dialogue and conversations. Doesn’t get taken seriously because of the lack of drama in their stories but secretly writing humour in order to deal with underlying traumas of their past. One day will write a heartbreaking story and play it off as a joke.
Wade Wilson: PWP Crack writers. R-rated. Anatomically graphic. Sometimes the realism is a touch too real. 50% hilarious. 50% makes-you-uncomfortable. Might have emotional range and depth but often chooses not to show it. Probably mentions pizza, beer and mexican food in their stories. A Good Bro but needs a Mute-Button and thesaurus sometimes. More famous for their personality than actual writing.
Natasha Romanoff: Better than you and you both know it. Gives off an air of superiority. Super clique-y but they also keep themselves at a distance. Good at literally every genre and writing style. Leaves no plot holes behind, ever. All stories are clean headshots with neat conclusions. Their plot twists have plot twists. Either they’ve done extensive research or they’ve actually been an assassin. The type of author you’re intimidated by and too scared to talk to.
Thor: Never Say Die Writers. Hammers out story after story. Will write themselves to God Status, no matter what it takes. Will shed blood, sweat, tears, an eye, a sibling…to achieve their goals. Honourable and respects other writers. They’ve got hustle and you can’t help but like them.
T’Challa: Feels heavily burdened by the Fandom Crown after writing one of the most badass Iconic stories of the century. Fucks off to Wakanda so you never hear from them again. It would take a Fandom Apocalypse to get them to come back. Constructs sentences so advanced that it makes you want to retire from your own writing. Infuriatingly cool. Is benevolent but doesn’t need hits and comments for validation. Gets them anyway, without even trying.
Stephen Strange: A literal wizard at world building. Known for their elaborate plots and multi-tiered-multi-character-multi-chapter stories. Cradle-To-The-Grave-type writers. Doesn’t believe in One-Shots. One-Shots are for the weak. Way too indulgent with language and minute details. Probably knows Latin. Often competes with Tony Stark writers for title of “Most Obnoxiously Complex Story Ever”. Frequently exhausting. Takes writing a little too seriously. Annoying but worth it.
Bruce Banner: Dramatic. The definition of “well that escalated quickly”. Will start off writing an endearingly small and clever story but all hell breaks loose by chapter three. Suddenly there is a lot of shouting and misunderstandings and chapters that read like glorified keyboard smashes. Everyone suffers. You don’t know what happened. Nobody knows what happened. Not even the writer. PTSD.
Clint Barton: 90% Sarcasm. 10% Plot. The master of the One-Shot because that’s all they need. Doesn’t believe in time wasting, indulgent flowery language and poetic confessions. Writes to get it out of their system so they can go back to their actual real lives. Secretly eye-rolls at Stephen Strange writers but also awed by them. Doesn’t know what a beta is.
Groot: The Holy Grail Of All Writers. Straight up literature. Can condense an entire paragraph into three words. Will write devastation and break your heart within the first five lines. Understands language in a way that most mere mortals can’t hope to achieve in one lifetime. The writer you bookmark and remember. Fandom famous. Universally loved.
Part II
You know what I want to know? I want to know what the cast of Harry Potter thought of Severus Snape and Snily. Particularly Emma Watson
My dear lgbt+ kids,
- “If you were really gay, you’d have sex with me. Are you sure you’re not actually straight?” is not helping you find the right label, it’s manipulating you into sex and that’s abuse.
- “I accept your asexuality but I have needs. You need to give me blowjobs at least.” is not a compromise. It’s demanding you to perform a sexual act and that’s abuse.
- “You’re bi and that means you’ll cheat on me if I let you hang out with guys!” is not the cute kind of jealousy. it’s controlling who you spend time with and that’s abuse.
- “I know you go by them/they but I’m angry at you, so I’ll call you he today.” is not a normal little fight. It’s using your dysphoria against you and that’s abuse.
- “If you don’t do what I want, I’ll tell your mom you’re trans and she’ll kick you out” is not a normal little fight, either. It’s using a vulnerable situation to manipulate you and that’s abuse.
- “You’re lucky you got me, nobody else would love someone as complicated and weird as you” is not a love confession. It’s trying to make you feel dependent on them and that’s abuse.
All of those sentences are examples of someone using your identity against you. That’s not acceptable behavior and is not the way you deserve to be treated.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad
so my roommate just sent me this
and then said “can you imagine if every time they talked about Falling in Good Omens we just replaced it with ‘cancelled’”
and I’ve been fucking cackling ever since
YouTube video with 10 million views where man exploits his autistic son so people donate money to a charity associated with Autism Speaks, which has no autistic board members and has recently partnered with Google to find what genes cause autism in order to ‘cure’ it (eugenics).
This video has 10 million views, is #10 on YouTube’s trending page, has already received $700k+ in donations, and has many popular Youtubers like MrBeast in the comments praising this man.
Aside from being associated with Autism Speaks, Next for Autism also supports ABA therapy and a member of their leadership, Alison Bush, worked for an ABA based center, First Leap, before joining Next for Autism.
Autism Behavioral Analysis forces children to suppress their symptoms of autism, such as forcing them to make eye contact, forcing them to stop stimming, and forcing them to deal with or ignore overstimulation, among other things. Nearly half of all ABA patients have PTSD and are more likely to experience it than people not exposed to ABA.
This is absolutely disgusting, as a father to an autistic boy, this man should know better than to support an organization that harms autistic children and is associated with one that wants to eradicate people like his son from existence, and is partnering with Jimmy Kimmel of all people, someone who has done blackface multiple times in the past. Great spokespeople for Autism, guys! (sarcastic)
Please spread this both by reblogging and sharing on other social media sites, and contact the people involved in the Color the Spectrum event to tell them that this is not OK.
im not going to be on tumblr tomorrow (still might check dms), for my own safety and wellbeing. but before i log off, i want to say a couple things
9/11 was a tragedy. everyone knows and sees that. just because i am muslim does not mean that i am going to justify 9/11. whatever bin laden’s motivation was, he did a disgusting thing and killed thousands of innocent people
just because 9/11 was an attack by someone who calls themselves muslims doesnt make all muslims terrorists. i cannot believe this is a sentence i have to type, but here i am. muslims - true muslims - do not condone violence. against anyone. i can go into all the details and the what-ifs and everything, but i dont have the energy for that. just know that violence is strictly frowned upon (note: this does not include self-defense. if somebody is attacking you and you are unable to get away, then fight back. again, there’s no debate on that).
check up on any muslims you know. your friends, neighbours, coworkers, acquaintances, even people you don’t like all that much. we are incredibly stressed out, especially if we live in a western country. just a quick text to see if they’re okay tomorrow will mean a lot
do not think that because you don’t live in america, you’re exempt from this. any western country has this problem, even if you live in a relatively okay area. i do. my friend (who lives in the same area as me) went to walmart and had a hijab on. she was nearly run over (intentionally, the guy was glaring at her and her mother the entire time) while trying to get to the store. she only realized when she got home that it was 9/11. i live in a safe area of canada. this should not be happening. but it is.
if you are in any way, shape, or form, islamophobic, get the hell off my blog
Can you please reblog if your blog is a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non binary, demisexual or any other kind of queer or questioning people? Because mine is.
