Stickers From My Fundraiser:

I hope you are all joining your local campus protests! I know they're in the news less but they're still going strong and putting a massive amount of pressure on universities. I'm seeing more people out here than ever this week!

I realized I hadn't made anything for the protests yet so I wanted to add this simple shirt design. As always ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my best friend who is Palestinian. The extra income will help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.

Approval of "controversial" designs (so everything related to Palestine) has been really slow this week. So I'm going to repost a few designs while I wait for my latest to be approved. My birds have been very well received so I'm going to start with them. Here are a couple birds associated with Palestine:

The left is the white-spectacled bulbul, common around the Levant. They are omnivores robust to urban life, and are known to be quite noisy. Fun fact, bulbul (بلبل) in Arabic actually is used to refer to nightingales as well. This was pointed out to me by an Indian friend because it's the same in Urdu apparently. In English the word has more limited use.

The right is a Palestine sunbird, the national bird as of 2015. They eat insects and nectar and kind of look like giant hummingbirds, though they are not at all closely related to them.

As usual, ALL PROCEEDS from my designs are for my Palestinian best friend, to help his girlfriend afford to join him safely in America and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

Palestine Designs

A selection from the things I have made these past couple weeks. My best friend is Palestinian and ALL PROCEEDS from these designs will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.

I made a second pixel art design for my fundraising shop, found here. It's a woman with a keffiyeh and a Palestinian dress featuring tatreez embroidery. It was made with stickers in mind but it is available on a lot of products. The original (below) is found here.

Recently we've been trying to help a friend of his get out of Gaza to an Egyptian university to finish their studies, if we can obtain the necessary permissions for them. They're a brilliant student and they are hoping they can get a good job to support their family after school, but sadly there are no universities left in Gaza now. If that doesn't work out this month's money will probably just go to helping a few more friends/extended family purchase food. We're kinda figuring out who needs it most at a given time as we go.
