One of the things Ursa absolutely adores about her girlfriend is her skill in giving messages.

When Ty Lee would try to show Azula and Mai how to chi block she would show them the pressure points on the body.  Where energy tended to build up and how best to relieve that pressure.  Which in chi blocking could be an effective combat maneuver.  But it could also be done gently as a message.

Ursa had no idea that all the times she walked on Azula practicing with her friends that one day she would enjoy the fruits of that labor.

Azula conversely loves how Ursa knows just how to pamper her.  Be it knowing what foods she loves and what food she only pretends to like.  That at a romantic dinner Azula can expect to find her plate laden with the sweet fruits and honey glazed meets rather then the overly spiced fairs common in the fire nation.

Keep on thinking about the start of Urzula. After the war ends Azula goes to live with her mom on ember island. Only things are so different now. Neither of them can seem to fit in with their peers. Either being deliberately left out or feeling out of place.

Naturally this leads to them spending more time with each other. Connecting through their shared isolation and enjoying the developing relationship they have. They even remark how little it feels like mother and daughter. That given the failures in the past being friends may be better. In truth they are becoming closer then they ever have been.

Till someday Azula gets stood up on a date, again. Ursa not wanting to see her daughter all night asks if she should just go with her. Get them both out of the house and enjoy the night.

They do, and have a wonderful time. On the walk back under the illumination of moon light they hold hands and without thinking lean in to kiss. It’s a wonderful blissful moment.

Yet they both feel shame afterwords, breaking apart they avoid each other for a few days. Till the start talking. Getting closer. Until they kiss again and stay apart for a time. Only the time apart is shorter.

The cycle happens a few time until they both admit that they don’t want to be mother and daughter. Or even friends. But girlfriends (and eventually wives).

Their struggle now is trying to keep the relationship a secret.

Is it too cliche to think that Ozai loses his mind over Azula in her school uniform in modern AUs? I think she'd totally attend some private super fancy high school that would absolutely have an uniform. She walking around the house in that short pleated skirt 5 days a week and it drives him nuts

I mean maybe it is cliché but I will allow it. Ozai would love that shit. He'd always be trying to her to bend over and he would flip it every time she walks by and get a look at her butt. Maybe Azula even starts teasing him by not wearing panties.

It’s great. Maiko is obviously already the canon dynamic and Zucest is my absolute favourite, but all of them bounce off each other in such fun and interesting different ways.

So they should all kiss.
