So
Aziraphale and Crowley are just Copia Emeritus and Aether in two different fonts.
Aziraphale and Copia are both forced into offices they're not even ready to/do not want to fill in.
Crowley and Aether are the ones cast out of the light (Aether back into the pit, Crowley left on Earth).
Two of my favorite fandoms stuck in a star-crossed tango

My two major thoughts following yesterdays manchester show is #1 how perpetua hiMSELF just before the start of ritual said “take it away, dew” so uhhh i guess that debate is settled??? Also i made direct eye contact with phantom and i felt embarrassed like id accidentally made eye contact with a stranger like oops sorry didnt mean to do that
Im seeing people share their reads on Papa V so far and I just wanna throw my hat into he ring?
So, onstage- he's been described as shyer then Copia and a little unsure, hes charasmatic and a bit flirty, he's implied that he's running on a lot of partial information, and he's having minor confrontations with the ghouls that he's backing down from regularly.
So, V comes across to me as someone who's much sharper and observant then Copia, who's trying to navigate managing a band of literal demons who he has not earned the respect of yet. I read him as nicer on the surface then a lot of the clergy, but very intentionally so. He strikes me as a more controlled person then Copia who's better at masking his frustrations.
I feel like V is also much more aware that the role of Papa is a figurehead with not much of authority, versus Copia who never really internalized that. V wants to be liked, but I don't feel like respect is as big of a deal to him as it is for Copia.
But-
I also get the feeling from the timing of the Lachryma video dropping after Copia starts trying to publicly humiliate him and the main repeated lyrics from the song being "im done crying over someone like you", that he's JUST as catty and passive aggressive as his brother deep down. I mean- he even "borrowed" (i.e. stole) the gold blazer and the idea for the wings from his dear brother. I can see him also having a similar temper, but with his anger running a lot colder than Copia's tantrums.
He also has some more monsterous and creature like traits compared to Copia, which even if just cosmetic or symbolic, still adds a subtext of menace to him.
So- altogether, I see V as someone who, on the surface is a very polite, nice, charasmatic person who might even come across as a people pleaser sometimes, but is a lot more perceptive, sharp, then he gives off. V wants to be liked and is a good person, but is much more calculating than you'd expect and plays the fool because it usually makes things easier him when he's written off as "Just Nice". He has either a hidden or deeply repressed darker side and can be very passive aggressive and catty when pushed enough, but he's subtle about it in a way that Copia isn't.
In a lot of ways, I see V being a foil and reflection of his twin. Copia has the image of a confident and suave sex symbol- but was revealed to be kind of ditzy, openly temperamental, and just a guy. And I'm currently reading V as someone introduced as sweet and a little clueless- but actually very perceptive, prone towards absolutely devastating laser pointed insults when pissed off, and maybe a lil more inhuman then we might expect.
