LOL you took this so out of context it's funny, really.
No, that man ain't the brightest. His temper makes him do less than intelligent things all the time. That man is a war criminal. Yes, so are many others in the show and books but that doesn't make his actions any better. It also doesn't make anyone elses actions any better or worse. Aemond has done horrible and inexcusable things. His tragic backstory and (as mentioned) the handsome face of Ewan do NOT make that fact dissapear.
I'm sick of the whole infantilization of adults (fictional or real) and their crimes purely because they are good looking, that is the only thing I was trying to say with my comment! This is not hate, only a realistic understanding of him as a character with all his aspects.
Lastly: I am NOT a native speaker but I am trying my best and learning everyday. To go for my spelling and/or grammar is such a low blow, really goes to show your character.
Originial Post & Comment:
This person can't even finish a proper sentence, can't even form a coherent sentence, can't make a point without resorting to aggressive hate mongering, and they're calling Aemond a "stupid, violent, impulsive little psychopath". TB does take on after their faves.
What did Aemond say to Cole (about his mother?) ? I can't really make out what he's saying before "That makes her a fool"
“Alicent still has love for our enemy and that makes her a fool”
Disrespectful little toad should support his mother’s right to a lesbian life partner.
🗣️ every word that came out of alicent's mouth in s2 in regards to aemond and aegon is bad writing. she condemns aegon to public death and aemond to death in battle because she believes - and the writers believe - and we are meant to believe - that they deserve to die, that they are both so irredeemable and fundamentally worthless as human beings because of their crimes (many of which they committed by c&h's own creative choice) that their continued existence is a shameful thorn in alicent's side. the only one she cares about now is helaena because of her "innocence." to have them wiped from existence would be a sort of cleansing for alicent and a reasonable price to pay for her freedom and the end of the war.
like.... in what world??? how am i supposed to buy that aegon and aemond are any worse than daemon?? than viserys? but only the men who support rhaenyra get redemption arcs, even when those redemption arcs do nothing to address the rot in their characters. daemon's most problematic trait isn't that he coveted his wife's throne. it's that he's a misogynist who was physically violent with said wife after he groomed her as a child in retaliation for a conflict with his brother (and i happen to like the guy!!!). it's that he's dismissive of women in general, including laena and his daughters, and was downright nasty to rhea for the entirety of their marriage until he onscreen!murdered her. and okay, some of these, like aemond and aegon's, are fanon crimes, but none of this is ever brought up, none of this is addressed in any meaningful way, it's okay because he bends the knee to rhaenyra and builds her an army and swears to never leave her. redemption. he is a man cleansed of his sins and we must accept him as such.
but aegon and aemond? who are much younger than him? were written off by the narrative long ago. it doesn't matter that aegon got a few sympathetic scenes this season; the fact that they made his mother offer up his life to rhaenyra (and that the scene approves of her decision by framing her as finally free underneath an open sky, with the belief that it's just her and helaena now) tells us everything we need to know.
"Your beauty never ever scared me"
You tell me it's not about Aemond Targaryen? The scared insecure child that he is inside? The one who deems himself unworthy because he didn't get a dragon as fast as others? The one that a second something worked for him (claiming Vhagar) he lost an eye? Making him "ugly" and "scary looking"? Aemond whi covers his eye so they don't look at him with disgust? Insecurities turning into rage/hatred
And there is the Reader who loves him despite the anger and hurt he carries inside of him. Reader finds it beautiful.
Brb gonna go cry again 😢

Kind of having an “I can fix him” phase atm and Aemond Targaryen is my main victim
A key word here. I'm sure you guys saw how they want to tell us that Rhaenyra is a queen. Like referring to her as Rhaenyra I Targaryen or the last episode name, the queen who ever was. And we have GRRM himself, the author of the book don't even referring to her as queen. He only refers to Helaena and Alicent as queen and Aegon as king. And he himself point out that Helaena is gentle and loved while Rhaenyra is not.
Aegon II literally issued an edict that Rhaenyra was a usurper and only a princess, only Helaena and Alicent are queens. Aegon III took over as Aegon II's heir, not Rhaenyra's heir. Neither he nor Viserys II purged that edict of their uncle. Nor did any other King. In fact, they adopted strictly agnatic succession laws. What more do they need to accept that even Rhaenyra's own sons, grandsons, great grandsons do not see her as the Queen.
In the excellent words of Stannis the Mannis,
“traitors have always paid with their lives . . . even Rhaenyra Targaryen. She was daughter to one king and mother to two more, yet she died a traitor’s death for trying to usurp her brother’s crown. It is law. Law, Davos. Not cruelty.”
Rhaenyra was never remembered as queen. Also not a single Targ kid was named after her because she was a traitor, pretender and usurper.
I'm not surprise the post is not there anymore. Because it's literally change the plot of this stupid show.

Aemond and little Aenyra (he is 42 and she is 3)
I think Aemond loves his children very much. If he had a loving family, he would be able to replenish the love he lost in childhood already in adulthood. As it usually happens "i will be another parent, better than mine".
