Fun fact: Dr. Dolittle's name in Russian is Айболи́т (Aibolit) which is a combination of a Russian exclamation «Ай!» and the word «Боли́т» («hurts»). The Russian translators really wanted to make his name speak for itself so they literally named him «Ouch, (it) hurts».

Дайте человеку хлеб - и он сыт весь день (Give a man bread and he's full all day long)

Дайте человеку арбуз - и он ссыт всю ночь (Give a man watermelon and he pisses all night)

There is a pun here, the two words sound absolutely the same: - сыт - is full. - ссыт - pisses This is what makes it very funny in Russian.

Vocabulary: сытый (short form: сыт, сыта, сыты) - to be full ссать - to piss (colloquial)

Find yourself a partner who talks about you the same way the last guy talks about his girlfriend (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

Actually, we don't say 'бутылированная вода' that often because I guess it takes a lot of time to say it. We prefer saying something like 'вода в бутылке' (voda v butilke) which means 'water in a bottle'. Although it doesn't mean that 'бутылированная вода' is not used at all.

"Mi mi mi" (Ми-ми-ми) is used to describe something incredibly cute.

Example:

Этот котенок просто ми-ми-ми! - This kitten is just so mi mi mi!

Fun facts:

A Russian late night talk show 'Evening Urgant' has a rubric called 'mi mi mi', where the host of the show 'interviews' cute animals.

'Mi Mi Mi' is a song by the Russian band Serebro. You must have heard it. The thing is, sometimes online lyrics sites write 'mi' as 'me', which is obviously incorrect. But now you know :)

Russian Idiom: как не знаю кто

Как не знаю кто often cannot be translated directly. It is an idiom meaning “to the extreme degree, too much”. “Я не знаю кто”, literally, I don’t know who, implies that any comparisons with other people or other events would be too weak, too pale. “I don’t know who could be as [something] as you are now”

Here are a few examples for you (thanks, Reverso Context) : 

Эти девушки смотрели на тебя как не знаю кто. These girls have been lookin’ at you like I don’t know what.

Нет, я еду домой, вымотался как не знаю кто. No, I’m going home. I’m completely soaked. 

Надевает наушники и радуется, как не знаю кто. He’s listening on his headsets, happy as a clam.

Ты пьяна как не знаю кто. You’re really drunk.

Воевали как я не знаю кто, чтобы сделать это. You have fought through hell to do so.
