The problem appears to be that Trump's cult showed up, but nobody else did.
I think, it's not so much his cult as.... Trump has a lock on low (really NO) information voters,
so take 2022 Democrats did really well for a midterm, expanded their senate majority and lost the house very narrowly, but only 46% of voters showed up, in 2024 67% of voters turned out, that 20% of the American public that didn't vote in 2022 but did in 2024 likely don't know what a midterm is.
and for people like that, Trump speaks in HYPER, MEGA! simple terms, terms so simple they're wrong even when he's not trying to lie (which he often is) like "build a wall" well thats not actually physically possible, but no amount of pushing back that there was no way to do that got him to stop saying it or his supporters to stop cheering for a thing that couldn't be done, and it was not done, because it wasn't physically possible.
we live in a country PACKED with people who don't understand how anything works, and Trump won because he speaks at a 2nd grade level and there's where 50-ish% of voting Americans are at rn.

I would like to get a law passed in my state, but I don’t know how. I think it was yesterday (today is November 12, 2024) Trump announced that he would need to scale back his economic plans which included no tax on tips and corporate tax cuts. I didn’t vote for Trump and I didn’t think he’d actually help his voters, however I believe it should be illegal for someone to make campaign promises they absolutely can’t fulfill.
I would like to make a law that makes it illegal for politicians to run on infeasible campaign policies and/or make it so that politicians have to run a feasibility study before making their campaign promises. Would this possible and if so, how would I go about doing it?
I think we as humans need to realize how privileged we are to be born into a human body.
Sure, I've seen a lot of people wishing how they could be a cat, dog or wolf just so they could be cute and taken care of and relax all day.
But let's remember that most non-human animals aren't so privileged.
Not only are pets often neglected and abused, but if you had been born into the body of a fish, a pig, a cow, a chicken?
Your life is seen as worthless - a means to an end. Fish are often not even regarded as living sentient beings, just decorations or food.
Pigs get their tails cut off, chickens get their beaks cut, often living in their own shit and piss. Cows get their babies stolen so you can drink their breast milk or eat cheese. And at the end of the day their lives are ended by being gassed, electrocuted, having their throat slit.
Thank your lucky stars for being born into the human body because your life could've been much much worse.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Near-Threatened
HABITAT & DIET: Like so many bats, we still have a lot to learn about this species. But we do know a few things about their diet and roosts. First, they are carnivores. This species is particularly large (see below) and thus they will eat birds are large as doves and cuckoos, as well as rodents and other bat species. They have even been observed eating bats right out of researcher's nets!
They live in smaller groups that are most often found in hollow trees. One of their unique traits is that they appear to form monogamous pairs, which is very unusual for bats.
Fun Fact: With a wingspan of about 1 meter, the spectral bat is the largest bat species in the western hemisphere and also the largest carnivorous bat in the WORLD!
IMO spectral bats sit either in the middle of weaver-z's Bat Appearance Graph, or have a significant rightward lean because of their dog-like face.
The moment they open their jaws and reveal those fangs, though, they zip into solid 'Those Feratu' territory. Or, that just solidifies their position of being in the middle of the graph.

If you haven’t started already, start archiving/downloading everything. Save it to an external hard drive if you’re able. Collecting physical media is also a good idea, if you’re able.
Download your own/your favorite fanfics. Save as much as you can from online sources/digital libraries. Recipes, tutorials, history, LGBTQ media, etc. It has been claimed, though I can’t find the exact source if true, that some materials about the Revolutionary War were deleted from the Library of Congress.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry and save and preserve what you can. Remember that cloud storage also is not always reliable!

There is so much here you'll have to look at it for yourself, but the climate policy alone is nightmare fuel.
The republican coalition wants to essentially end funding for green energy, dramatically promote and expand fossil fuel industries, and eliminate funding and regulations in all sectors promoting climate change mitigation. Task forces and offices related to clean energy and lowering carbon emissions will be eliminated and replaced with offices for promoting fossil fuels.
They want to LOG NATIONAL FORESTS TO "THIN" THE TREES TO STOP WILDFIRES.
THEY WANT TO FORCE OREGON AND CALIFORNIA TO LOG THEIR NATIONAL FORESTS AND TREAT THEM AS FOR TIMBER PRODUCTION
There are specific provisions in Project 2025 to essentially destroy the Endangered Species Act, causing it to defer to the rights of "economic development" and "private property." The plan includes delisting gray wolves, cutting the budget so that a "triage" system is used to determine which species will get protection, removing funding for research, removing experts and specialists from the decision-making process, and preventing "experimental" populations of animals from being established.
This is so much worse than I expected it to be and there's much more past that: They want to deregulate pesticides and remove much of the EPA's ability to regulate pollutants as well.
Also included in the manifesto is that we should
withdraw from nuclear weapons nonproliferation agreements, build more nuclear weapons, and resume nuclear weapons testing
The manifesto comprehensively outlines the scorched-earth elimination of abortion access, down to ensuring doctors aren't even trained to perform abortions. There are plans in here to disrupt abortion access GLOBALLY, not just domestically.
Not only that,the Republicans plan on reframing family planning programs around "fertility awareness" and "holistic family planning."

The foreign policy is a nightmare. They plan to push fossil fuels onto the Global South and promote the development of fossil fuel industry in the "developing world."
It is aggressive and antagonistic towards other nations, strongly pro-military, proposing that we INCREASE (!!!!!) defense spending, improve public opinion of the military and military recruitment, and increase the power to fund new weapons technology.
Just read the Department of Defense section. It's about greatly increasing and strengthening the military-industrial complex, collaborating more closely with weapons manufacturers, removing regulatory barriers to arming our allies and to inventing new military weapons, and recruiting more people into the military. They include provisions to develop AI technology for surveillance. And of course, continuing to support Israel is in there.
Elsewhere it proposes interfering in foreign countries with creepy pro-USA propaganda campaigns, even establishing international educational programs where faculty have to pledge to promote USA interests.
There's a line in here about getting rid of PBS because SESAME STREET is LEFTIST for God's sake.

All of it, I've got multiple notebooks to I'm spreading it across them.
