there is no tomorrow  there is always last night  and i know that when you are alone and crying into the darkness  you rise the sea and the tides  and you think nobody notices

Yea, of course I’m

Scared

Nervous

Frightened

But then I realize

I’ve felt like this before

Afraid

Uncertain

Worried

And I got through it

I survived

It may have been a bad dream

But oh

Felt so real

I could almost feel the tears sting my cheek

Hear the pounding of the knocks on the door

Hear everyone yelling at me, trying to grab me

Feel the fear and anxiety rush throughout my body

Mom?

Dad?

Where are you?

I try my best to push the bed out from the wall

As I hid behind the bed

I internally screamed because I knew that if I actually did they would find me

I put my hands over my ears to stop the loud pounding noise of the knuckles against the door

tears run down my cheeks

trying my best to not have them hear me crying for help

I wake up

I didn’t know it was a dream until 6 years later

So I know

If I’ve felt like this before

And if I could survive then

I know I can now

After taking the life of another human being, Armin knew he had to put the mission and the safety of his comrades before his own mental anguish - that’s why, after experiencing the trauma of shooting and killing another human being for the first time, instead of allowing himself to react or reflect, he immediately soldiered on and drove the wagon and his team to safety first. This is the heart and strength of a true soldier. No, a selfless hero.
