“Logic – The Incredible True Story” Album Artwork for Def Jam Recordings by Sam Spratt

I’m so pumped to finally share the main piece of artwork for Logic’s next album that I’ve been doing creative direction and painting on for quite awhile now. This is a truly bonkers cinematic concept album revolving around an original Sci-Fi story that he wrote. After finishing the art for his last album, Logic reached out with a general idea of what he wanted and a list of his biggest film inspirations including Tarantino, Akira, Interstellar, Kubrick, and above all: an iconic shot from Wes Anderson. Using these as a foundation, I painted a 3 panel panorama of the interior of the “film's” spacecraft, populated with him, the characters from the story (including Steve Blum), and the most integral people from his team who contributed to the album. While the center panel serves as the album cover, the physical release folds out to reveal the whole panoramic scene, with more artwork on the flipside.

We dove really deep on this one to try to make it as special of a physical release as we could since owning a disc case or vinyl sleeve is increasingly rare. While only some of this can be shared now, he really wanted to build a universe so I designed everything from the blueprints for the spaceship, space station, world design and concept art for an alien planet, the space suits, color palettes, art direction for the interior album typography and graphic design, all the way down to tiny minutia like the flight badge he wears.
