60s Sex Kitten: A Guide

The term "sex kitten" is something that hasn't been used in Hollywood in decades. Usually in reference to stars like Brigitte Bardot and Eartha Kitt, it is often vaguely defined as "a young woman with conspicuous sex appeal who asserts or exploits her sexual attractiveness". It's important to note that physical attractiveness is not the key factor here but sexual appeal is.

What's referred to as a "sex kitten" is probably what we call a coquette or minx today. She embraces her sexuality with a coyish grace. She's erotic and sensual, but not overtly so, and often times uses her sexual appeal to get what she wants. Looking at the women who fell under this category, they all had a doll-like look about them. They were perfectly put together, flirty, sexy, but still retained an innocent almost childlike air about them.

Voluminous hair was all the rage in the 60s, and the iconic "beehive" was notably seen on celebrities like Diahann Carroll, Eartha Kitt, and Priscilla Presley. Perfectly teased voluminous hair gives a glamorous aura to your look. Fluffy hair can make you look like a living doll, almost unreal, like a fantasy!

Mini, mini, mini! Fill your closet with mini skirts and dresses. Buy some that leave a little wiggle room so that the loose fit + short length combo plays off one another. You're showing just enough skin and curves to spark someone's curiosity and imagination. Do not shy away from color!
