Gosh it’s a hard question because I love so many characters and they all have some horrible misinterpretations.

But for this I think I’ll go with Ron, as I rlly love this boy

Alright so let’s first get over some things ppl like to say about Ron or write Ron as being like ( all of these are horrible and just bashing ):

- Ron being abusive towards his partner and friends

- Ron written as very unattractive, being fat and nasty

- Ron written as a cheater

- Ron written as dumb, unintelligent, illogical

- Ron being shunned back from the trio and replaced by another character ( Neville/Luna/Ginny ) bc they are better friends

I hate all of those takes, Ron doesn’t deserve this treatment by the fandom TwT

So let’s establish some facts now

Ron’s magical abilities are on the same level as Harry’s with the only exception being Defense against the dark arts.

However he does have his own abilities that he’s good at. Ron’s an outstanding chess player, he wins with almost everyone, even with Hermione which really frustrates her

He’s a pretty good keeper (unfortunately, due to stage fright, it is difficult for him to show his best side when playing in front of a large audience)

Ron could drive a car at the age of 12. This is an extremely amazing achievement considering that even adults often have trouble operating the vehicle, and Ron was able to fly it all the way to Hogwarts. This means that within a dozen or so hours, Ron drove a car and flew from England, London to Scotland, without using a map and only following the tracks he saw beneath him. It is also important to remember that the car had additional functions as Arthur Wesley magically improved the vehicle, meaning it was even more complicated to operate than a standard car.

Now here's something you may not have noticed, although it's partly just me looking deeper but a lot of things points to Ron having some future-predicting power within him. Why do I think so? Especially since no one, not even Ron himself, seemed to think so?

The answer, of course, lies in the books. Just look at those quotes :>

1. Ron predicted Harry's getting unexpected cash and more

In the third book: Prisoner of Azkaban, during the first lesson - making predictions with tea leaves - Ron was examining the leaves in his friend's cup.

"(...) "There's a blob a bit like a bowler hat," he said. "Maybe you're going to work for the Ministry of Magic…” He turned the teacup the other way up.

"But this way it looks more like an acorn... What's that?" He scanned his copy of Unfogging the Future. “A windfall, unexpected gold.” (…)

As we know, Harry became an Auror after the end of the Wizarding War. So, as expected, he works for the Ministry. But what's the deal with cash? A Well, for example, unexpected gold for Harry was the prize for winning the Triwizard Tournament - 1,000 galleons, which amounts to about 5,000. GPB or 28,000. PLN. That’s a lot right?

Another unexpected influx of money was Harry receiving Sirius's estate after his death. Because how could he expect that his godfather would end his life?

2. He predicted that Voldemort killed Moaning Myrtle

“I wish I knew why someone did try to chuck it,' said Harry. 'I wouldn't mind knowing how Riddle got an award for special services to Hogwarts, either.'

'Could've been anything,' said Ron. 'Maybe he got thirty O.W.Ls or saved a teacher from the giant squid. Maybe he murdered Myrtle, that would've done everyone a favour..?”

3.He also predicted their argument during GOF and along with Harry most of what would happen in the book

“(…) Why don't you get stabbed in the back by someone you thought was a friend?"

"Yeah... cool.." said Harry, scribbling it down, "because Venus is in the twelfth house."

Ron was very brave.

Despite his fear of spiders, went with Harry into the forbidden forest, that most of the school avoided, following a spider trail. We know well that this situation ended with a meeting with Aragog, but despite his obvious fear, Ron waited for Harry to finish asking Aragog questions.

He also went with Harry straight to the Chamber of Secrets, knowing full well that the Basilisk was there. One of the most dangerous creatures in the entire wizarding world.

He overcame his fears in order to help his friend.

Ron was very loyal. Yes, they had arguments, but all of the trio had, Hermione abandoned the boys a few times too, but that’s how life works, friends sometimes argue and don’t agree with each other but what makes them a good friend is that they apologize and always come back. Harry appreciated him very much for this, after all, Ron was the person Harry missed the most and whom he had to save during the 2nd task of the Triwizard Tournament.

Ron also has an absolutely amazing sense of humor, here are some of the funniest things he said that I quoted:

All in all, I love Ron, he’s an amazing character and I hate how much he’s mischaracterized and brushed aside or bashed he is.

Dracula voice: I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for my lawyer, his wife, his wife’s girlfriend, his wife’s girlfriend’s fiancé and their extra boyfriends the Cowboy and the doctor and the doctor’s thesis advisor who knows how to kill vampires for some reason!

ron weasley did not

come to privet drive to rescue harry from his abusive home after he hadn’t been replying to any of his letters and he was worried

almost back out of following the spiders bc they’re his biggest fear, but upon seeing hermione’s empty seat at dinner, find the courage to go

defend hermione from any and everyone who called her a mudblood

constantly worry about hermione’s workload (especially in 3rd year) and notice that whenever she disappeared

offer to teach hermione his entire family tree so that she could pretend to be pure blood to keep her safe from death eaters

defend harry to everyone (percy, seamus, half the school) when everyone thought he was lying about voldemort’s return

stand up on his broken leg in front of harry and say that “if you want to kill harry, you’ll have to kill us first!” to what they believed to be a raving lunatic mass murderer

gift dobby his newest weasley jumper and the new socks he got given for christmas

stand up against snape when he was bullying hermione (and got a detention as a result)

beg the deatheaters who were torturing hermione to “leave her alone!! take [him], have [him] instead!”

always check up on his friends when he notices something is up, even if it’s in subtle ways

immediately befriend harry on the train in ps and teach him about the wizarding world

write to charlie immediately so he could help hagrid out of trouble (re the dragon, norbert)

encourage neville to stand up to people, and praise him when he actually does it

help harry put on his pajamas after he broke his arm during quidditch

have to be physically restrained from attacking malfoy after he said he wished hermione had died in cos

worry about harry’s preoccupation with the mirror of erised and how it was affecting him

remind hermione to eat her meals and get a good night’s sleep when she’s studying 24/7 for their owl exams

display acute levels of emotional intelligence in the way he interacts with harry and hermione, essentially being the glue that keeps them all together

get splinched almost in half, lose blood and suffer agonising pain but seem more worried about the cattermoles and whether or not they were okay

realise his mistakes & own up to them, acknowledging his role in certain falling outs (especially in deathly hallows)

be genuinely hilarious and fun, and lighten the load in everyone else’s’ lives with the humour he brings to

write to his mother in ps asking her to give harry presents too because he doesn’t think he’ll received any

go to the department of mysteries to help harry without a second a thought

go on the run with harry to hunt for horcruxes without a second thought

run to hermione’s aid when malfoy hits her with a nasty hex outside snape’s classroom and take her to the hospital wing

help hermione with buckbeak’s appeal, spending hours upon hours reading up on the case

extend the first olive branch after fighting with hermione because of scabber’s “death” and apologising, after which she then apologises too

demand to re-try out for the position of keeper on the quidditch team because he wanted to earn it himself with no favouritism or help

choose to stay on the quidditch team despite the bullying from the slytherin team and his nerves about his flying ability

stand up to malfoy at every opportunity, when he was insulting him, but more importantly, insulting his family & his friends

save harry’s life in dh by pulling him out of the lake, and then kill the horcrux

remember the houseelves during the battle of hogwarts and worry about their safety

continue to admire and adore his older twin brothers despite the fact that they were sometimes cruel to him

become almost annoyingly protective of his little sister (ESPECIALLY after the diary situation)

single-handedly out smart and escape five armed and deadly snatchers

try his best to overcome his insecurities and feelings of being overlooked, in order to support the people around him

sacrifice himself without a second thought during the chess game in ps because he knew harry’s survival was more important than his

for y’all to speak on him the way you do. calling him cruel, evil, selfish etc??? open your fucking eyes

'open my eyes to everything (there must be something more)' by zinder_fox - Only ongoing fic on the list but its so damn good I only drew like ten things for it. Also read all of their stuff its so, so good. One way time travel fix-it ✨

'Take Me Back To The Night We Met' by Mushroomfields - An absolute CLASSIC if you ship Dazatsu you have probably read it. Time travel fall in love 🙏

'Broken glass can be put together' by Anonymous - I don't really subscribe to Dazai liking pain but this is one exception and that exception is probably like top 2 for me and no I will not answer further questions COUGH

Funeral Bell by chimesDissent - I know this is technically two fanfics but they're the same tale but from different POVs and I love it so much. Read all of their stuff also its so damn good

Something about Rarry that I think is just so beautiful is the fact that Ron thinks he needs to be better than his sibling and friends, needs to be better than what he is to be worthy of love, but the very moment Harry Potter, The Chosen One, saw the lopsided smile of the scruffy redhead with dirt on his nose and worn clothes, he loved him like he had loved nothing else. And he never, throughout his whole life, loved anyone in the way he loved Ron.

Ron believed himself unlovable — Harry had never known love until he met Ron, and loving him was as easy as breathing.
