Israel: Hamas hides inside hospitals and uses them to launch attacks therefore we must decimate the entire healthcare system in Gaza!

Also Israel: *takes over the only cancer treatment hospital in Gaza and turns it into a military base*

I really feel like not enough has been said about this:

Death of Ana Clara Benevides - Wikipedia

Death of Ana Clara Benevides - Wikipedia

Ana Clara Benevides died because Taylor Swift and her team decided to ban personal water bottles at the concert during a heat wave and did not make provisions for an alternate free water source. The water available to buy at the concert was not effectively distributed and many people in the crowd of 60,000 found themselves unable to access it. Many other people also suffered from the heat and poor concert management.

Read the whole goddamn page if you have the time. What an absolute clusterfuck. Ana Clara Benevides was a VIP ticket holder. I have a friend who bought the same kind of ticket and the price is…..fucking exorbitant. That a fan could pay so much, and still lose her life due to gross incompetence, is a testament to the greed and power abuse that’s going on here. It’s also a pretty powerful statement about the effects of climate change and uh. The private jets aren’t fucking helping. Despite her incredible wealth, Taylor Swift did not offer any financial assistance with the funeral. Her fans did. Taylor Swift’s greed and rapacious appetite for fame are the only things that outweigh her spectacular perpetual victim complex. I am beyond sick of her shit.

Lol tumblr just straight up deleted my reblog of the ttpd ad they've shown me 10x promoting the line "one less temptress, one less dagger to sharpen" because I pointed out the misogyny and and hypocrisy considering her album is about her being ~*tempted*~ 🙄 by a guy* and then leaving her boyfriend for him. Mother must not be criticized!

*I'd call Matty something, but there's no male equivalent to the word "temptress" with the same connotations and shaming power. Hmm, what does that tell us?

❝ My life was a storm, since I was born, how could I fear any hurricane? ❞

My opinion is that Macklemore and Kendrick are two different situations. Kendrick’s drop is important because it’s exposing genuine issues within the music industry and exposing a literal predator, womaniser, and someone who has essentially been shitting on the history of hip hop and rap ever since he started his music career.

Macklemore’s drop is important because not only does it call out the IDF and America’s complicity in Israel’s genocide on a huge platform, but all the streaming proceeds actually go to helping Palestine.

What isn’t important is Drake. That’s why Macklemore only shouted out how he isn’t interested in Drake’s response, and doesn’t mention Kendrick at all, because no one should give a shit about what that whiny little bitch has to say and waste time waiting for the response.

But overall, the main takeaway from all of this, including Macklemore’s song, is that you shouldn’t let the actual drama distract you from talking about and supporting Palestine. Kendrick has won the “beef”. We all know that he has, and we need to respect what he did as a legitimate moment in history for the hip hop scene and for the music industry as a whole. That’s why I think viewing it as just “beef” is stupid anyway. Kendrick fucking executed that guy and now Drake should fall out of relevancy for good. I don’t give a shit about Drake’s response either. This isn’t celebrity drama, this was a hip hop legend cleaning up the scene for us.

Meanwhile, we should also be streaming Macklemore’s song because it sends all its funds to the UNRWA, and funding the Palestine relief effort is important as fuck right now. You can have whatever opinion you want on Macklemore himself, but streaming that song will help Palestine.

Basically, the Macklemore song and the Kendrick songs are important for different reasons, and they should be treated as such and not pitted against each other. Even Macklemore’s not pitting them against each other if you actually read his lyrics.

Don’t stop talking about Palestine. Don’t let celebrity drama distract you. Fuck whatever Drake has to say, and stream both Hind’s Hall and Kendrick’s diss tracks.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how absurd it is that there are people on here arguing that it's unfair to judge people's character by how they react to genocide (if they're rich and famous)? No, we should judge their character by how they act when the stakes are lower and it's easy for them, apparently.

hearing someone tell the same boring or only mildly interesting story more than twice is unbearable to me. it's like there are ants under my skin. i have to leave the room or if i can't i have to pull out every mental trick i have to distract myself and then vent later and I'm pretty sure it still shows in my body language despite my best efforts.

taylor swift is like someone who tells the same few mildly interesting stories over and over and over. her music isn't garbage or anything, but at the same time 90% of it is unbearable to me because every single she releases gets so much play, it gives me the same ants under my skin feeling and i often can't get away from it.

and it's not just her music, it's also the constant narrative around her. i was made to sit through a mini documentary about her relationship with travis kelce on espn, treating her like a saint doing a public service for bringing more customers to the multibillion dollar CTE league that is the biggest financial supporter of tackle football for children. (I am on record hating tackle football, the NFL, and its youth outreach long before this)

ever since the self-proclaimed activist happily accepted being named more influential on world events than any world leader and used the platform to talk about no world events or anything worthwhile, it's like the ants have become bullet ants whenever i hear this saint swift narrative repeated. we're even supposed to say "thank you mommy, may i have another" to the billionaire making millions on obscenely priced concerts that are supposedly "holding up the whole economy". i'm just never going to understand people who worship her (not just like her music) and dedicate their time to giving her unpaid promo and claim to care about things like genocide and the environment and wealth disparity.

anyway, that's why stuff bugs me. please tag everything that's related to taylor with "#taylor swift" so people's blacklists work properly. A LOT of y'all don't and it's giving ants!

Rapper Macklemore is releasing a track called “Hind’s Hall”, speaking out on the genocide of Palestinians, and the United States complacency in this ongoing violence. Macklemore has stated that once the track drops on streaming, all proceeds from streams will be going directly to UNRWA— the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East.

The new tracks namesake Hind’s Hall echoes the honours that Columbia University encampment protestors bestowed the Morningside Heights campus’ Hamilton Hall— in memory of Hind Rajab, the 6 year old Palestinian girl in Gaza who was shot by Israeli soldiers after being trapped inside a vehicle, with her dead family. She had begged to be rescued as tanks closed in on her.

Macklemore using his platform to vehemently speak out against genocide, the Israeli occupation and United States-led violence is what every single artist should be doing right now. The power of art should not be underestimated. Macklemore started out in the Hip-Hop scene within communist circles, namely working alongside Blue Scholars, and has never neglected his Leftism through out his career: the artist has spoken on issues regarding mental health, addiction, racial profiling and police violence, Capitalism, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and toxicity of American culture.
