My cartoon for this week’s New Scientist
A small update: A few hours later, here are the two other comments that make up the top 3.
So the trailer for Our Flag Means Death Season 2 just went live on youtube, and this is the top comment. I agree with it wholeheartedly.
I’ve read that a tactic a lot of studio execs are planning on waiting out the strike through October and are hoping writers losing their apartments and needing food will break the strike. How true is this and what are some of the best ways to support the writers and maybe donate money to any who have fallen on hard times?
I’ve read the same article you have.
I love how when we are first introduced to Vetinari, he's this all-powerful tyrant with spies everywhere, twenty steps ahead of everyone else, of whom people aren't even sure is human and then he proceeds to spend pretty much 90% of his time in the Watch books and The Truth being a damsel in distress (often with Vimes co-starring as the knight in shining armour) and is still seen as this all-powerful tyrant. Vimes hears someone call Vetinari unkillable and has to stop himself from snorting.

Yk sometimes i think getting caught up in 70s dm makes me lose appreciation for the fact that if 70s dm didnt happen then thats actually equally insane. Like Daniel and Armand having a whole multiyear romance Daniel forgot about is fucking crazy, but so is the fact that armand broke his vow of never making a fledgling for this guy after knowing him for a cumulative two weeks. At least if the 70s happened he could have had a respectable period of becoming obsessed with him. If they truly hadnt seen each other in 50 years and Armand just looney tunes tripped and fell into being in love with this guy thats actually also crazy.
