So my delusional self is thinking that MCU Flash will be the bridge for MCU Peter to reunite with old friends. ((Currently writing a fic about that but who knows, might finish it in five years.))

My SpideyFlash-loving heart melts at the thought that Flash is technically one of the most constant person in his life. They've known each other since they were young and became good friends as they grew older. Flash has known Peter longer than anyone else in the coffee bean gang. So, like, Spectacular Spider-Man where Peter and Flash are childhood friends and Peter gave Flash his nickname—

Fuyumi: Stop eating my fries. Natsuo: You left them unattended. That’s a declaration of abandonment. Fuyumi: I went to get ketchup. Natsuo: So you planned to make them better. That’s on you.

That Which Marks the Future (of Literature)

The history of literature has been lined with technology, giving us the copious amount of literary works influenced by technology and the imagination of people who’ve taken fictional technological systems to new heights which offered readers a fresh idea on how technology could advance. The contents of works aren’t the only thing impacted by technology, as the medium of writing and reading are also affected by it. With every passing year, technology’s impact on literature and its future only continues to grow in numerous ways, most of which I find beneficial.

The rise of technology within our society opened the doors for people to have the ability to write through blogs, social media platforms, etc. and spread their ideas to a wider extent. With technology, knowledge is easier to access. Everyone with the means uses the internet to scour for news and information for various reasons. Technology could help people with learning disabilities by aiding them in reading. People with dyslexia might be more inclined to use e-books as it helps them read better because of the more dyslexia-friendly formatting which you can also change.

Though technology isn’t always available to everyone and the access to information isn’t always easily accessible. In fact, there is an estimate of 37% of the world population who have yet to even access the internet. Furthermore, studies show that people retain more information when reading from a printed medium rather than e-books. Not only that, but using digital methods for literature erases the use of books which have certain aspects that make people love literature.

However, a study by Melinis (2011) showed that students’ motivation and engagement increased with e-books and strengthened comprehension skills. Furthermore, a study by DeGroot (2019) states that there is an implication that e-books are as effective for learning as printed versions are. Similarly, audiobooks also help people with learning disabilities and those that have problems reading chunks of texts for several reasons. Moreover, audiobooks are more engaging and entertaining due to their nature which is more likely to hook.

As our world continues to advance with technology, it seems that technology’s impact on literature is immense. Digitized methods of reading and writing literature will only continue to rise in popularity. Even in current times, technology’s impact on literature is already vast as it is, with blogs being popular, and online sites wherein writers can post their works to be accessed by a wider range of people. Due to that, there may even come a time where the hardback and paperback books we’re fond of disappearing to be replaced. As we see it, technology marks the future of literature

Xingqui: *posts a new chapter*

Beginning note: hey, guys! Sorry for the wait. I had some personal issues. My boyfriend finally got an evil spirit exorcised and then I met his hot aunt. Oh, then I talked to my cover illustrator and he apologised for the late product, apparently he was doing some experiment about or on some weird tentacle creature and then he lost his notes and then met a clone of himself and badabing badaboom, they're best friends now. Well after he stabs said clone, anyway. But anyhow, I hope you enjoy the chapter!!

For those who saw my earlier posts, nevermind. This thread was so long, I cannot even.

I wanna thank Pinterest for showing me this post:

Flash Thompson's flinch (excuse the language) | Andrew garfield spiderman, Thompsons, Amazing spiderman

Sep 18, 2015 - Flash Thompson's flinch (excuse the language)

CHIS ZYLKA’S ACTING IS ON POINT!! I didn’t even notice this when I watched it years ago in cinemas. Yeah, this is an 8-years-later reblog, don’t judge me

You wouldn't flinch if someone was going to throw a basketball at your head?

[x]

I’m sure you think you’re being original, but I’ve literally (and I do mean literally) seen about a hundred people respond with nearly the exact same wording, and every single one of you seem to be missing the point.

My post:

image

Are we really not talking about this flinch?

Flash Thompson’s father, canonically, is an abusive drunk.

Are we really not talking about this flinch

About a HUNDRED people have responded with various versions of your snotty question. For the most part I’ve just sat back and watched other people explain to you smug whiner-babies why you’re being ignorant high-and-mighty fucks who are completely missing the point of the post, but you came directly to my ask box and you went on anon, so it’s my turn.

Usually I don’t get bitchy when people send me asks, but this is as much in response to the other hundred of you as it is to you personally, so be warned, I’m not going to be nice about this.

Of course he’s flinching because of the fucking basketball. Nearly everyone would flinch in this context. Literally no one is denying that???

However, most people wouldn’t react to a basketball coming at their face by turning their back to it, getting low to the ground, and bracing their entire body. Most people would flinch back, maybe take a step back, and try to block the ball with their arm and shoulder. Most people wouldn’t have that expression of shame and dawning comprehension afterward.

Do you know the difference between a bad actor and a good actor?

A bad actor tells one story.

A good actor tells a multitude of stories.

Of fucking course he’s flinching because there’s a basketball coming at his fucking head, that’s story #1, that’s literally the scene, NO ONE is debating or disputing that. There is no other reason for him to be flinching in this moment.

The WAY he flinches is what’s interesting, because that’s story #2.

He turns away and brings his forearms up to cover his face — children in physically abusive homes learn to protect their faces at all costs so that no one sees evidence of the abuse and asks about it.

He braces his whole body.

He gets low to the ground.

And after he registers what’s happened he looks ashamed, humiliated, angry at HIMSELF, not at Peter.

When you react to something involuntarily, because of a learned behavior, because of anxiety or fear, and you realize you’ve reacted incorrectly to the situation at hand? That you’re using the wrong social script, and your reaction was disproportionate to the situation? THAT is the fucking look on his face afterward.

Anyone with anxiety can relate to that expression. That expression says “fuck, I fucked up, now everyone knows.” It’s fear and shame and self loathing, and it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fucking basketball.

Would I flinch if someone was going to throw a basketball at my head? Yes, of course I would. But I wouldn’t flinch like THAT. I’m going to go out on a limb here, since you’re being an asshole about this, and say neither would you.

What are the odds of one sibling being really pale and the other sibling having a darker complexion?? Because Human!Twilight and Human!Shining Armor being brown and white respectively...IDK actually. Like, the art for when they make them have IRL skin tones. Then again, Twilight Velvet is grey.

An Atrocity of a Piece

In the silence of the night,

With all the stars shining bright,

The silken sheets encirling my pale skin,

Fiery ginger hair was all that was to be seen.

I close my eyes to dream,

And see your bright blue eyes gleam;

Your haunting makes me frown,

The sunlight behind you like a crown.

I despise the way you beleaguer me,

Holding me in captivity;

With unrealistic fantasies,

Of what could-be's .

It makes me despise you,

The way I want it so badly to be true;

But alas, it is one of the many could-be-nots,

And I will weep in my head full of thoughts.

Thoughts, and fantasies, and imaginations,

Of us and our destinations,

Of domestic bliss

Sealed with a passionate kiss.

Yes, I despise you,

None else could be as true.

For in you, I see a fanatical future,

For you, I become a delusional creature.

Almost driven to madness like my aunt,

While you glower and frown and taunt

At all my sneers and jeers and leers,

My affections become clear to I through the years.

I can only wish that to you, it is as clear,

Yet the fact it is not shall abate my fear,

As knowing will surely be a recipe for grief,

For who, I do not know and it is a relief.

For I despise you,

And I love you.

And such is forbidden for us two,

So I can only dream of your eyes so blue.
