#Repost @cnn ・・・ Scientists have discovered a planet, named GJ 357 d, that is about six times larger than Earth, orbits a dwarf star every 55.7 days, and could potentially provide Earth-like conditions. Researchers don’t know whether the newfound exoplanet, which is 31 light-years away, is rocky like our own planet 🌎However, they do know that it could potentially support liquid water on its surface because it exists in the star’s habitable zone. "This is exciting, as this is humanity's first nearby super-Earth that could harbor life,” said Lisa Kaltenegger, a professor at Cornell who authored a study on the planet and two other nearby exoplanets. History is, strictly speaking, the study of questions; the study of answers belongs to anthropology and sociology
