ways i’ve been satisfying vampirism because i don’t really shift into it, im always and have always been a vampire. this helps me when i get cravings i can’t satisfy in a traditional vampire practice. also things that i think validate my vampirism
- eat red meats medium rare or rare, it sounds scary to some and as someone with autism it was a huge fear food for a long time but 1) quality steak and meat is ruined by cooking it well done. a less cooked state results in a bolder flavor, and soft melt in your mouth texture. learning to cook a good steak pays off dividends for any carnivore type imo. 2) the visual of blood on my plate satisfies me
- i have always struggled badly with anemia. my body desperately needs more iron, more red blood
- fangs, i have regular ones and decorative ones. i currently have a set of gold ones but im saving for silver as those are the most gender euphoric for me. i don’t like the vampire piercings they just don’t look cute to me and i don’t think it would help my dysphoria
- eating salty deli meats like salami (not hard salami) something like genova salami. i like mine peppered with the little bits of fat on it. chewing on it and biting it, tearing it apart with my hands and teeth.
- i do my own acrylic dip powder nails in a faded natural french ombré, then buff them to make them matte. it gives a natural vampire monster claw look, i do them on the shorter side and in an almond-stiletto shape. i can do a tutorial at some point if anyone is interested.
just some fun things that have helped me from your local vampire prince. enjoy. 🥩🩸📿⚰️
Okay now that I got the bitchiness out of my system a bit, let's see if I can write a bit on """"rules"""" of witchcraft as I would like to see them.
Stop bitching about other people's practices and focus on your own. If you spent a lot of time worrying or raging about how other people practice, how will you ever grow your own? Focus on yourself and your own power and let other people do their thing.
Other people's practices are inspiration, not goals. On the flip side, if there is someone who you look up to, or someone's practice you love seeing, take it as inspiration for your own, but don't look it at as a goal to achieve. Firstly, what people share online is not the whole of their practice, and secondly you're not them and their path is not yours.
Be curious. Why are people harping on "black and white magic"? Why are Starseeds bad, but Alienkin and Starkin are fine? Why is cultural appropriation such a bad thing? (If you answered "because racism" on all three of these, have a cookie!) And not just curiosity about these concepts, but also about correspondences (Why are red roses a symbol for love?) or ingredients you have in your home (will this basil work as well as rosemary for this spell?) or other paths and techniques, or spirits, or -- you get the point. Once you know the "why" you can use your own discernment. Does this work for me? Do I agree with the why? Etc. etc.
Be respectful -. To other people, to other practices and cultures, to spirits and deities. Find out their customs and cultures if you can, and act accordingly. Did you know that not saying "thank you" to the Fair Folk is only a custom in Irish and Scottish folk tales? Yeah, exactly.
-But don't be terrified. You're a witch/wizard/warlock/unicorn/whatever dammit! Act like one! Witchcraft is about empowerment, so be fucking empowered! An anarchy saying is "no gods, no kings, no masters". As a polytheist witch who works with the Fair Folk for me it's more "lots of Gods, some Kings, no masters!" I meet them with respect, but on equal footing. I experiment because if I screw up, well, I'll have learned something, and I've learned a lot about getting myself out of weird stuff.
Have fun. For fuck's sake, your practice is supposed to bring you joy. If it doesn't bring you joy or make you feel fizzy with inspiration and energy, try something else. If you need to, toss the whole thing out and start over. Trust me, it helps.

Witch tip::
Eat a tarot card to gain its powers
the trees you grew up with have not forgotten you. their branches still whisper your name in the breeze and their roots remember the paths your feet once traced through their shade.
Hi! I’ve been awakened for 10 years, going on 11 years next year in February. I’m a silver black phase wolf with amber eyes. I’ve never learned what works for me as far as connecting and feeling since my awakening in 2015.
Sure, I miiight have this rare phantom shift with my wolf ears where I’ll feel a pressure on both sides of my head, and my mind interpreting it as ears when thinking of my form give or take. Seems to be a trigger of mine? I also have small mental flares that only last for a few seconds which has always been my normal so that’s nothing new.
Lately I’ve tried to trigger phantom and mental shifts voluntarily but I end up having an envisage shift instead. It’s weird. I honestly have tried everything else too. Gear, vocals, looking up my habitat, research on my animal, etc etc. It doesn’t do anything for me at all. Not even songs trigger shifts.
I’ve heard that as nonhumans grow older, they slowly lost their connection to their nonhumanity and that it’s naturally stronger in teenage years. I’m not sure if that’s true or if it’s really happening to me. I’ve noticed that it’s difficult for me to find new ways to connect and feel wolf. The things I did before (running in the woods, being outside at night, vocals, etc) just came naturally to me as a teenager and it lasted whereas now it just… doesn’t.
Help?
Y'all know it's okay to just try stuff in witchcraft, right?
Across the internet, I see a lot of people who seem to be asking for permission to do what they want. While I see some validity in getting wisdom from others, I worry that the people asking these questions might miss out on the experience they could get from going ahead and making a good faith attempt.
"Can I do this spell even if I don't have rosemary?" I don't know. Try it!
"Can I use fruit juice as an offering to my goddess?" I don't know. Ask her!
"Can I include a pocket watch in my magic?" I don't know. See if it works!
Of course, it's not a good idea to jump in and try something that could be harmful, but if you're not hurting yourself or others and you're not appropriating from a closed practice, just give it a go! You're allowed. You're a witch with magic and power and discernment of your own. You don't have to get permission from a bunch of internet strangers. Have fun trying new things!
If you're part of a physical shifters group that allows any alterhuman in. Then get upset when physical shifters talk about physical shifting...
Maybe think that you're the problem and not the p-shifters.
Witch Note: You Are the Spell
You don’t always need a candle.
Or a crystal.
Or the right moon phase.
You are the spell.
Your breath, your heartbeat, your intention — that’s ancient magic.
When you cry into your tea, when you hum while cleaning, when you light a candle just because it comforts you… you’re casting.
When you daydream about a better life, a softer one, a wilder one — you’re already calling it in.
Not every spell needs incense and Latin.
Some just need your presence. Your truth. Your spark.
Don’t forget that.
Hello. Wolf here who is unsure of her label. I don’t know if I’m truly a therian or a p-shifter, so my question is this:
How do you know if physical shifting exists?
I know because I've shifted before, plus I believe there's enough evidence to say it's real. My own shifting experiences lead me to believe it's possible in some way, shape and form. Others in the community have also corroborated my experiences, so I know its not just me. Even if I couldn't physically shift, I've seen enough evidence (in the form of historical accounts and modern day claims) to say it's real, or that something supernatural is going on. Most historical accounts of the supernatural talk about shapeshifters in some form or manner, and people still claim to see shapeshifters in the present day, so at the very least we can't chalk it all up to tall tales. I also haven't seen academic studies disprove it outright; as long as the conservation of mass is being followed anything is possible. This is a short explanation, let me know if you want me to go into more detail anon!
Actually sane, actually tuned in to the mysteries ✨️
