The Election and Planned Parenthood

I often get frustrated when people say that feminism is no longer relevant or necessary, and that third wave feminists, like myself, are all just man hating, tear drinking “feminazis.” I could go on for several hours about the specific needs of women of color and women in the LGBTQ community, but for now I will give that particular horn a rest, while still recognizing that it is beyond important. Currently there are several examples of the relevancy of feminism in modern America, and it is so important that we not only recognize them, but do something about them, because they are time sensitive and could have major implications in the near future.

Currently there is a Republican primary going on, and if you are as liberal as I am, it would be very easy to ignore it, or just laugh off their crazy antics, but in reality this is a very scary time. One of these people is going to be running for president against the Democrat’s candidate (Go Bernie Sanders), and that should make every woman shake in their boots. These candidates are boasting about defunding Planned Parenthood like it is going out of style. and apparently none of them even understand the constitution in terms of the relationship between religious freedom and civil rights.

One candidate in particular still seems to think that a woman is unqualified for this position simply because he thinks she is ugly, and then thought telling that woman that her face is lovely somehow made up for the fact that he was so sexist as to think physical attractiveness had anything to do with the job. People of color, whether female of not, you should be terrified too! This same guy thinks that Mexico “isn’t sending its best” and that “the black love him.” Not only that, but he is utterly stupid when it comes to politics, policy, and common sense. He believes vaccinations put children at risk for autism, that building a wall is equivalent to an immigration policy, and that because it has been colder lately, global warming doesn’t exist.

The scariest thing about all of this is how he is polling. In case you haven’t been able to figure out who I am talking about, its Donald Trump: the man, the myth, the legend. And the people supporting him in these polls illustrate how alive racism and sexism still is in the United States.

If that wasn’t enough, ever since the video about Planned Parenthood went viral, our reproductive rights have been under attack. FYI Planned Parenthood is not selling fetal tissue, that video shows Planned Parenthood donating said tissue to science and research, a practice that is perfectly legal. The money that they collect is for preservation efforts and shipping costs. These donations are vital to fetal research that many people have benefited from. Somehow this video has been twisted beyond how horribly inaccurate it was when it was made, and has become the rallying cry of activists who was to make abortions illegal again, or at the very least defund Planned Parenthood.

Lawmakers, you know the people who should really know the most about the law, seem to forget that federal funding isn’t even used for abortions at Planned Parenthood, except for in the case of rape or incest. The money is used for women’s health services such as breast cancer screening, PAP tests, and STD screenings, along with general services like flu vaccines, diabetes screening, and physicals. Less than 3% of what they do relates to abortion. Even so, why are 50 something, rich, white men so concerned with my womb? My body. My Choice.

With the house recently voting to defund Planned Parenthood, it has become all the more real how at risk our rights are. Although the Senate is not likely to pass this bill, and even if they did Obama would most likely veto it, take this as a warning! We as feminists need to be proactive!

There’s all kinds out there.

NO, I DON'T OWE YOU SHIT FOR BEING NICE.

I wanted to share an experience with you ladies because I think it’s important in this talk we’re having about male entitlement.

I went on a date on Wednesday with someone who seemed to be quite ‘smitten’ with me. I use the word ‘seemed’ because of what transpired after the date. This was a guy who since meeting me was constantly texting me, calling me and putting my wants first, for example, making sure he took me to a restaurant I wanted when I was free.

On our first meeting he complained he hadn’t been lucky with women and that he felt that being good natured didn’t always attract good things/people. I dismissed it because I just thought he was a bit bitter and cynical after his previous relationship and said that maybe his luck was about to change. We left that conversation there and continued on.

For our second date he took special effort to take me somewhere nice, paid the bill and was very affectionate throughout the dinner. We then went for a drive and hung out where we didn’t proceed for a home run because I didn’t want to. He seemed fine with this until I dropped him to his car and upon leaving he said “I’ll see you when I see you”…UM OKAY?

So here we are nearly a week later and not a word from a guy who was constantly calling me, except for a juvenile text about how he had to go home and help himself out after our date, on Thursday.

That shit is not okay.

I am not a vending machine where you slot some coins and I put out my services for you. Just because you bought me dinner does not entitle you to my body and when you don’t get to have my body it does not entitle you to make passive-aggressive comments about how you had to help yourself out.

Men think that because they’re “NICE” they’re entitled to some fucking special treatment.

NO.

There is no fucking special treatment for treating me with the respect and common courtesy I deserve. You do not get an applause for being a nice guy. And you sure as hell don’t get the title of a nice guy because you think you’re owed that.

And here’s the other thing: You do not get to fucking complain when someone doesn’t reciprocate your advances, feelings or generosity about how nice guys finish last. That’s not what nice guys do. That is what a self-serving piece of ass does.

BEING NICE DOES NOT MAKE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT.

The new 2017-2022 administration will promote their Businessman President, forget government support of the Constitution, and institute the business process in government. Anarchy will prevail unless they understand that the people are supported by the government laws, and they must support that. Also, by being the richest President, unlike Obama, he will forget the poor, social programs, and rules supporting that. He will also pay attention to the rich and institute 'rules for the rich' in government law. He is forgetting he is the son of an immigrant, but not that he made his fortune here, and even made it to the highest office in the land. One more thing. He has his 'America First' policy. He is cutting America off from the world in The Mexican Wall, making businesses come back to America, build in America, and put heavy import taxes on foreign businesses already here.

What Do You Do About Pornography?

What do you do about pornography?                                                       1/2/16

This is hard to write. My problems are not really for others to know, but my answer was this.

The real question is, what do you do after? Porn is an instant answer with no gratification. In the end, it is too instantly available, too immediately over, with no gratification from it. Too fast and not too much there. Not worth the time and not worth watching. In the end, you reduce it to something less, until its just zero to you. Or less. I left it for more satisfying everyday living life better. Love more real humans for more life and get more real life gratifications.
