They had been sitting in their living room, Dream worrying aloud about how the sleeping arrangements would go and picking the skin from his nail when George interrupted him. “Don’t be silly. They can just use my bed and I’ll sleep with you or something.” He’d even reached over and gently slapped Dream’s hand to stop him from picking at his nail, a habit he had gotten into from the first time he had seen Dream doing it in person and frowned wordlessly at the action. And, before Dream could even begin to question him, Karl had loudly barged into the room and announced his presence, deferring the conversation for another time. And that’s how they had gotten here, to Dream awkwardly standing in the doorway of his ensuite bathroom, with his teeth freshly brushed and his face washed, unable to do anything but watch George where he was already comfortably lying on his side in Dream’s bed, scrolling through something on his phone.

George might very well be stranded in the middle of his bedroom, with his best friend slash crush due to arrive in less than ten minutes and a fucking fish tail attached to him, but everything was definitely fine if you looked at it from the right perspective. George, having fallen onto the ground the moment his legs decided nope, we’ve had enough and sold him to Fish God for one corn chip or some shit, was not currently able to get any perspective other than ‘lying on the floor’, but he would find one somehow!

I read the fic a while ago and it was like, dream had a lot of money from his shitty dead dad and he and George were spending it traveling but they’d also kind of fight and it wasn’t exactly a healthy relationship but It was really potent and I think I discovered it on this page

DNF writing post

Hey folks, my name is Maya. I’ve been in the mcyt fandom for about a year but not very active. Today I wanted to share four DNF pieces I’ve written so far! Please give me a chance if you like experimental but realistic fics. These end happily, but they certainly explore character flaws and failings along the way;)

I used to think a wedding was a simple affair | 3.6k | Gen | Complete

What ought to be one of George's proudest days in America ends up being his saddest. Maybe it's his own doing. He's always been a little too sharp-tongued and frivolous. Maybe it's his ineptitude. He's never quite been able to pour out his feelings to the world. Or maybe it's his destiny. To be another shitty father in a long line of shitty fathers. Luckily, he has Dream to talk him out of spiraling.

IMPLOSION | 15.8k | Mature | WIP

Five years to the day the Dream Team moved in together, it all falls apart. One window, two noses and three hearts are broken. Dream presses a desperate kiss to George’s bloodied lips and wonders where things went so wrong.

Scratchy Grounding

Summary: Remus is lost in thoughts of things that scare or upset him, Virgil comes to help him break out of them

Well Remus has always been one to have dark thoughts, to revel in the decaying, destructive and death-touched, but sometimes that became too much and twisted. Occasionally his thoughts stop being on the things he likes but turn to the words that tore into him, to the people he swore didn’t matter to him but actually still terrified him, to everything that his brain could bring up to make him feel like shit.

On days like those he would flounder and drown in his thoughts, nothing to anchor him, or bring him out of it. Why would there be anything? He lived alone and had nobody there to realise something was wrong.

He’s not.

He’s not afraid of the Imagination, either. That would be stupid. The Imagination is his playground! His much cooler playground, since his brother’s is lame. All fluffy clouds and stupid little castles and dumb villagers. The only cool thing is the dragon witch, and Remus helped create that. She lives on his side and occasionally visits Roman’s kingdom to wreak mayhem. He giggles to himself a little, tucked up in his bed.
