Fanfic is a free hobby.

It's one of the last few things we can have as a society that's free. You can engage, for free. People give you things (art, stories, etc), for free.

Don't buy into the consummerism just because it's everywhere else.

You don't have to consume everything you interact with. You don't have to use things, just because they exist.

You're allowed (still, for now), to have things that are enjoyable for free.

Do you realise how insane the world is? We don't have many places where we can just be, for free anymore, but ao3 is. Did you notice we don't have ads in ao3? We don't have pop ups? Where ELSE do we not have that?

Where else can you just go and not have to wait for a commercial to be over or for ads to be on the sidelines?

I don't think the younger people understand, but the whole of internet used to be like this. YouTubers would do Youtube for free, just because. You couldn't monetise your internet presence before.

Ao3 is like a little preserved corner of the internet where the old internet used to be, and it's being attacked by people who do not understand that free things are allowed to exist without judgment.

Please don't ruin this for us.

just a heads up for all writers out there!

I was recently told AO3 is currently being plagued by bots that comment on people’s works and falsely claim their fics were AI generated. and I can see how vile and discouraging hearing that is for authors who put so much time, effort and dedication into creating their fics.

now listen to me, if you ever get a comment like this on your work, please please please please know that they’re most definitely bot who comments the same thing on dozens of people’s works at random without ever reading the works. at all. they just copy and paste the same script onto random fics, any fic they come across.

they’re bots with malicious intentions, and they most certainly want you to lose motivation and/or delete your works. DON’T GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT.

if you ever get a comment like this, just delete the comment and/or report it to AO3.

remember that their comments don’t mean your works look “AI generated”. it only means these bots come across your fic and leave the same copy and pasted comment on it like they do to other writers.

don’t let them make you question yourself. they’re nothing but spam bots. YOU are a writer and you are fucking awesome.

he rests his weight on top of you, breathing heavily as he comes down.

your legs shake as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer.

he can't help but chuckle as he pulls back to look at your fucked-out face, his flesh hand moving to cup your cheek.

you smile in response, pulling him into a tender kiss before nuzzling into his neck.

"lets get you cleaned up, hm?" he whispers before getting up. he groans as he pulls out of you, his hands moving to spread your thighs apart.

"look so good with me spillin' outta' you.." he speaks softly as he runs a finger through your folds, pushing his finger into your entrance before sliding it out and slipping it past his lips.

you simply whimper at his actions, swallowing shallowly.

he stands up before walking to the bathroom and grabbing a towel before emerging again.

"c'mere sweetheart." he speaks softly as he grips your thigh with his rough bionic arm as his flesh one runs the towel through your puffy folds.

your thighs twitch at the feeling before relaxing as he wipes himself off, throwing the towel in the laundry bin next to your nightstand.

he climbs into bed next to you, wrapping his large arms around you as he pulls you to his chest.

you smile softly as you nuzzle your head against his chest, arms wrapping around his mid-section.

You hum as he rests his chin atop your head, his hand running soothingly up and down your back.

"i love you.." you whisper sweetly against his chest, pulling him closer.

"i love you too, baby. " he whispers back, squeezing you tighter as his hand still runs along your back.

you lie there in comforting silence, eyes fluttering closed as sleep overtakes the both of you.
