Fucking up so bad that scenes like this don't exist in the movie is a travesty
Inserting this into The Electric State tag to get people to read the book. So many cool fucking scenes in the book that weren't included in the movie. Such a shame.
I recommend not visiting the 'The Electric State' tag then, so many people who didn't read the book insist that you must like it or else you hate fun or smth
why the did my parents reccomend The Electric State
Before I made this post I explored the turkey tom tag and WOW! the amount of people who are fans of this piece of shit is insane! How can anyone be fans of this piece of scraped off gum? Fucking disgusting.
My guilty pleasure right now is watching luxury hotel reviews and I found this british guy who keeps accidentally clipping into the backrooms.
He's unintentionally making the best liminal horror content on youtube
THEMMM!!!? š©·š§”
Scott Cawthon is not your friend. He is a business man.
Okay so most people are probably gonna ignore this but I've gotta say it anyway cuz it's important.
FNAF fans have been queerbaited on an EXTREME level and this fandom is stupid for not realising that. And the worst part is, there are a lot of LGBTQ+ people turning a blind eye to blatant homophobia and transphobia in the community as if it's not doing them any harm (but it very much is).
As much as I love Five Nights at Freddy's, the fandom should NOT have turned a blind eye to Scott Cawthon donating to a bunch of homophobes and transphobes. I know it was a long time ago, but even back then, no one seemed to really care and, honestly, what he did is not something that can be forgiven, especially considering how he responded to the allegations.
For those who don't know, in 2021, Scott Cawthon's political donations list was publicised on Twitter, revealing that he had donated money to several homophobic and transphobic politicians, such as Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.
His response to this was that he "chose to support the candidates he felt were best to run the country", proceeding to share his support for the Republican party and refusing to apologise for supporting them.
But, of course, he also said that he "loves his LGBTQ+ fans" and that he is "grateful for the support from his LGBTQ+ fans".
And, of course, many of the characters from FNAF are implied LGBTQ+. Mangle, Funtime Foxy, Springbonnie and Lolbit don't have confirmed genders. Glamrock Freddy and Glamrock Bonnie were implied to have been a gay couple. So OBVIOUSLY he supports gay and trans people, right?
This is one of the most extreme cases of queerbaiting you will ever see. Actions speak louder than words. Scott Cawthon can say whatever he wants about supporting gay people but he has admitted and proved that he will always choose to give money to the people that want us dead, rather than the very few people in power who actually do good for us. Saying that you support gay people does not mean that you actually do.
I'm not gonna say people are entitled to their own opinions because, quite frankly, some opinions stink. If you seriously think that supporting Republicans isn't doing damage to the LGBTQ+ community then fuck you. I'm not usually political but it's so blatantly clear that Republicans want gay and trans people dead, and every time you donate money to them or even show them support, you help them with that cause. So fuck you. And fuck Scott Cawthon. Because he did the same and then tried to cover it up.
"The support of my LGBTQ+ fans means a lot to me" is actually such an awful thing to say considering that your LGBTQ+ fans need your support so much more than you need ours, but you refuse to give it to them and then pretend that you do. And you have to admit that it is suspicious how he chose to announce his retirement just days after this came out. I'm not saying that he isn't retiring to spend more time with his kids like he said. But there's definitely more to it than that, considering how angry he was at being cancelled.
I am, however, going to keep in mind that he was doxxed because this was completely wrong, no one deserves to be threatened or for their family to be threatened, but it's as though he's using that as an excuse to be forgiven by the fandom because he knows he's done something wrong and just doesn't want to apologise for it.
Something to always keep in mind: people who do bad things should always apologise. If they don't, or if they disguise denying they did anything wrong as an apology, they don't deserve your forgiveness.
And it just upsets me that there are so many LGBTQ+ FNAF fans that choose to ignore this. To those of you that this applies to, I URGE you to wake up and realise that he is helping the fight to get rid of the rights that we had to fight so hard for.
In short, Scott Cawthon is a homophobic and transphobic republican who pretends to be supportive of the LGBTQ+ community so that he doesn't lose fans because he knows what he does is wrong, but refuses to apologise for it.
So go ahead, continue to support Scott Cawthon, but just know that he probably doesn't support you back as much as you think he does.
I think this drama is stupid as fuck. Like I feel so bad for illymation. Like imagine this from her perspective like 1 day you Make a video about how kids shouldn't be going into drastic diets because of how they feel about their body. And then some random ass Conservative Youtuber makes a whole ass video about how your indoctrinating children and that you're trying to make people fat. And because of that random ass conservative Youtuber, you're getting harassed by his fans. you get so much harassment That you have to turn off your comments on that video you made. And then After a while of this, you decide to respond Like an adult By making a post on Tumblr Telling your fans not to watch the video and to just report it. And then Out of nowhere. Conservative Youtuber decides to make a 32 minute video Pissing and shitting himself over the fact you dare to make a tumblr Comment Telling people not to watch the video. And in that video he directly tells his fans that you're cyber bullying him And you're trying to censor him and you're trying to censor people with disagreeing opinions. Which makes the harassment much worse. And you're just stuck in limbo not being able to do much about it because if you try to say anything again he's gonna make another video about you which will create more harassment. I want to become an alcoholic cuz of hearing this whole situation. I cannot imagine what it would be like being her in this situation. if By any chance illymation is reading this I just have to say I am so sorry that a Whiny conservative Manchild Is doing this to you. I don't know how to end this sooooooo um byeeeee
āBelieve and support victims ā except for when the accused is your best friend, then yāknow, the lines are kinda blurry⦠what is consent anyway?ā ā the green bastard circa 2024
Now imagine how us fans of the book feel :'(
Anything but electric
The Russo Brothers have made a career out of injecting rare smarts and soul into big studio films. While perhaps best known for master-minding the high point of the MCU in Infinity War, they also produced the weird and wonderful Everything Everywhere All at Once. That means that their latest film, based on Simon StĆ„lenhagās graphic novel, arrives with a fair bit of expectation.
For the most part, The Electric State fails to meet them. Set in a technologically dependant version of 1990s America, we open with a rushed news montage that breezes through a multitude of key information in about 5 minutes. After a war that pit humans against their friendly robot aides, a fragile peace treaty has separated the illegal ābotsā into an āXā zone behind a massive wall (If that feels like an on-the-nose reference to current political events, just wait till youāve seen the rest of the film).
At the heart of this story is Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), a teenage orphan whose brother (Woody Harmon) died in mysterious circumstances. But when a robot based on their favourite cartoon - Kid Cosmo - appears to share his living consciousness, Michelle joins him on a quest to find answers.
On the surface, this journey has all the elements of an engaging sci-fi adventure. As Michelle joins her new companion to the robot-infested desert, thereās plenty of WALL.E level cuteness at play (the leader of the robots is a stately Peanut voiced by Woody Harrelson). Thereās also a thoughtful plot about our attachment to technology, and an emotional story of brother-sister reconciliation to tie it all in together. Stanley Tucci even stars as a soft-spoken tech billionaire with questionable intentions - think Elon Musk but more (italics) evil.
In reality, it doesnāt quite come together. For a film about a shady conspiracy, what stands out most is the lack of surprises. Everything in this film feels obvious and over-polished, from the predictable one liners - ānot in my house!ā, quips a robot sidekick - to the rather staid action sequences. Fittingly for a film about sentient robots, it feels like the script - adapted by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely -has been engineered by AI.
This also comes down to the casting. Chris Pratt, while occasionally funny as a loveable rogue that Michelle meets on her journey, is essentially just playing another version of Starlord - complete with a small, fast-talking sidekick. Giancarlo Esposito plays another ruthless villain, this time a robot hunter nicknamed āThe Butcherā, who gets a laughably formulaic story arc in the final act. Ke Huy Quan makes a charming cameo as a doctor but essentially exists to spout exposition. And while Bobby Brown does get some emotional flash back scenes with her brother, sheās underserved by an otherwise bland teenage rebel role.
Itās a shame, because there are some good ideas here. The Russo Brothers have crafted a beautifully realised world, and thereās some striking character design amid the human on robot carnage. However, it all ends up feeling a bit derivative, with ideas that were seen before in Ready Player One, and recently The Creator. Unlike those films, this does little to inspire the imagination.
Despite a star-studded cast and the best of intentions, this robotic sci-fi adventure ends up on the scrap heap of sci-fi cinema.

Me but with the Electric State too. Fuck the Russo brothers, they're just another blight upon the industry now.
can we like, have adaptations made by people who care about the thing they're adapting
Reminder that scott cawthon donates money to anti-lgbt republicans
