Neil Banging Out The Tunes (2023)

A photo of a hand-sized painted clay figurine of Neil the hairless rat, playing a small purple synthesizer. The photo is taken slightly from above, showing Neil's left side.

The knobs, wheels and black keys of the synth are in the colors of the rainbow. The figurine has its right forepaw raised, resting on the keys.

The figurine sits on a grey vinyl floor, and is surrounded by colorful glittery pompoms and plastic beads in a variety of shapes laid out around it. Some of the beads are shaped like stars and musical notes.
A close-up photo showing the front half of the aforementioned figurine and giving a closer look at the miniature synthesizer. It is taken at a slight angle, peering over Neil's right shoulder. This close, the brushstrokes and texture of the figurine's surface is visible.
Another photo showcasing another angle of the aforementioned figurine. It is taken from a bird's-view angle, showing Neil's left side.
Another photo showcasing another angle of the figurine. It is taken closer to the floor, showing Neil's right side.

my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor

Yongasabi, Slugcat Language Of The Rain World Undergrowth AU

Yongasabi, Slugcat language of the Rain World Undergrowth AU

Yongasabi originally started as an attempt to turn Rain World's glyphs into a functioning writing system for the slugcats, and that eventually inspired me to make a language for the writing system to support. As it grew, it became increasingly intertwined with my own ideas for Rain World worldbuilding, and my own project, the Undergrowth AU.

Now I'm publicly opening my language to the Rain World fandom! Seven months of work from start to the official release, with fully functioning grammar and over 1500 documented words just at the time of writing this post, I'm excited to finally release this language for other people to view, and potentially even use.

Note that Yongasabi is made with the Undergrowth AU (which is an anthro AU) in mind. It presupposes that the slugcats are humanoid, and their technological development is further along than in the game. Despite that, the language should be otherwise applicable to regular slugcats.

Yoŋasabi (Scuglang) by oPashoo (Find me on tumblr) The Slugcat language of the Rain World Undergrowth AU Document started 2024-09-03 First

While Yongasabi has been developed through the lens of my own projects (Rain World Undergrowth AU and its worldbuilding) and understanding of Rain World's themes and lore, it's something I want to be accessible to the entire community. Consider it something of a gift. Anyone has permission to use Yongasabi in their projects—credit would be appreciated, and I would actually be so excited if you messaged me to let me know what you were doing. If I'm available, I can translate things too, if you need, or explain concepts from the document. Just send it to me and I'll see what I can do! Good luck!

Do you think they realize how much cooler that makes it sound?

A photograph of a passage from a newspaper. The sentence "The Vatican added that gender-affirming surgery is a risk to 'the age-old temptation to make oneself God.'" has been digitally highlighted in green.

Like. I'm not even an apotheosis type of guy. But you do know that makes it sound so much cooler right?

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird from the Altai Mountains of Siberia, c.400-300 BCE: this figure was crafted with a felt body and reindeer-fur stuffing, all of which remains intact

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird From The Altai Mountains Of Siberia, C.400-300 BCE: This Figure Was Crafted

This plush bird was sealed within the frozen barrows of Pazyryk, Siberia, for more than two millennia, where a unique microclimate enabled it to be preserved. The permafrost ice lense formation that runs below the barrows provided an insulating layer, preventing the soil from heating during the summer and allowing it to quickly freeze during the winter; these conditions produced a separate microclimate within the stone walls of the barrows themselves, thereby aiding in the preservation of the artifacts inside.

This is just one of the many well-preserved artifacts that have been found at Pazyryk. These artifacts are attributed to the Scythian/Altaic cultures.

Currently housed at the Hermitage Museum.

Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it's hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.

LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we're still contributing to it.

Stop using it. Stop using it for a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. We need to kill it.
