I never noticed that the primas-hermanas wear differently-colored clothes from the rest of their family. 

As you can see, the warm-colored family all wear orange/yellow while Dolores wears red, meanwhile the cool-colored family wears blue/green while Isabela wears pink/purple. 

But why is that exactly? Well, here’s my guess. 

Since the primas-hermanas are the oldest of their siblings in their respective sides of the family, they’re expected to get married first as per tradition. Considering that each family unit has their own color scheme, Isabela and Dolores wearing different colors from the rest of their families may symbolize them starting their own family units when they get married and have kids, with Isabela being the pink/rose(pun-intended)-colored family and Dolores being the red-colored family. 

But hold on, there’s a twist! Isabela doesn’t want to get married. She doesn’t want to be with Mariano and have five kids, she still wants to enjoy her life before ultimately getting hitched to a man she doesn’t even love. As the firstborn of the youngest generation of Madrigals, Isabela is expected to set a good example for the rest of them by getting married, but this is not what she really wants. Meanwhile, Dolores is in love with Mariano and wants to be the one to marry him, but feels in the shadows because he is engaged to Isabela instead. Therefore, it is no coincidence that Isabela both sheds her perfect demeanor and breaks things off with Mariano while changing her wardrobe to be primarily blue and dark purple, assimilating back into the cool-family color scheme, while Dolores finally gets Mariano to notice her and maintains her red color scheme. 

It’s because Isabela still needs some time to learn about herself and grow and isn’t prepared for that big leap that is marriage yet(which I don’t blame her for, at 21 you’re brain still isn’t fully developed, even Dolores wasn’t ready and she got her man!), while Dolores will one day create her own family unit that most likely wears the color red.

The Encanto’s church

Okay, okay, since I love to be accurate in my fanfics, and so it turns out I’m writing a lot of religion-related context these days, the question about the Encanto’s church came to my attention. 

Because in the movie, when Luisa is asked to move the church, this is what we see:

In WDTAB, when Pepa and Felix are singing their part, we see the church as well and it looks this way:

Which was insired by an existing building btw, Museo Santuario de San Pedro Claver. It’s in Bolívar, Colombia. It looks like this:

And on the map of the Encanto, we can see that the church indeed does look like the one from WDTAB, not the one Luisa’s carrying:

So… Which church is the real one? Do they have two churches? A church and a chapel, maybe? So that Luisa moved the chapel, not the actual church. The chapel may be used for rosaries, for morning smaller masses, or evening everyday masses, while the church is for big celebrations, weddings, funerals and Sunday Masses.

I don’t know, I just needed to share my observations with you because, as I said, I value accuracy and it irked me that there are some differences in the movie. Unless, as I said, one is the church and the other is the chapel. Then moving the chapel for a nicer morning/evening light would make a little more sense than moving a big-ass damn church. 

🐀🕯✨Let’s Talk About Bruno’s Room✨🕯🐀

Not the tower room, but his hideaway spot!! I’m obsessed with details of one’s living spaces, so I thought I’d point out what I noticed (with low quality pics from my phone obviously💁🏻‍♀️)

First off, rat art!!! Not only is he an actor, but an artist~

Cooking stuff, he’s got his burner and another pan on the wall with jars full of something, I’ve also noticed sacks of what possibly could be flour in another frame. I’m assuming the papers written on the walls are recipes (perhaps written by his sister??). Also in this collage and in the other collages, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of lighting! Glass lamp on the floor, a hanging bulb/candle, candles everywhere, very interesting!

Also, look at all those plates!! That’s odd to me since he’s only one guy. Is this a collection of his? What’s up with that?

More little things like laundry, books, hygiene, etc. I saw a hammock back there, I wonder if he slept on that? If not then the red chair? Didn’t see a bed anywhere so I’d assume the hammock was his sleeping spot.

I also wonder what he read about? I assume with all that alone time he’d have to had read a lot even with his… other entertainment opportunities like the mini theater, watering his single boot plant, patching up the cracks, drawing, and “playing” cards. Sounds like a lot but not really at all!!

In the first pic of this post you can see there’s also more clothes on the other side, and a second chair with a tower of cards! I was gonna point out the little theater box he had, but we all know that one well haha.

So with all the encanto analysis stuff I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen people talk about this yet. 😅

Honestly don't think I can hear Bruno's part the same now.

encanto crack theories

(in which i don’t actually think they’re intended to be the truth by the writers but i think they’re really funny)

theory one: camilo knew abt bruno

-camilo clearly cares about his family and wants to keep them safe

-he also pretty accurately knows what current day bruno looks like, even if it’s modified to be creepy (we’ll come back to this)

-bruno didn’t want to be found. if camilo discovered him, his family-loving self would probably want to keep him safe. it’s his tio, after all, and estranged family is still family

-camilo makes bruno look scary to try to throw mirabel off his scent (camilo doesn’t know why mirabel’s looking for him, just knows he doesn’t want to be found)

-in the end when camilo is confused/frustrated by bruno’s sudden appearance, it isn’t bc nobody seems to be reacting, but bc he’s like “i put in the effort to keep a secret and this bitch just walks back out like it didn’t matter??”

-ex. “we gonna talk about bruno?” isn’t him acknowledging the return, but basically saying “oh so we’re talking about him now????”

-dolores saying she knew the whole time pisses him off more bc he’s like “who was he even hiding from if y’all just know????????”

-he’s bitter for a week

theory two: casita is the reason for the movie being a musical

-casita is the embodiment of the miracle, like a sentient personification of the gift given to the family. the closer to the house, the stronger the magic, like the candle being the heart and the house being the ribcage wgile the rest of encanto is a body

-therefore, casita has magical influence over the lands, able to alter reality within the bounds of the island(??) for the sake of musicality

-casita is a madrigal. this bitch is definitely dramatic/extravagant as all hell

-they assist the madrigals in turning their musics numbers into magic to add a little spice

-their influence is also what makes all the animals so friendly (they’re especially friendly to antonio bc his gift not only allows communication but makes them like him)

-the animals aren’t just friendly tho; casita offers them an ability to understand english and comprehend life on a human level (and even make them sing like the donkeys in the surface pressure number)

theory three: the family will live to the longest possible extent of their lifespans (especially bruno) bc of julieta

-julieta’s cooking completely heals the body and restores it to perfect health

-eating her food would repeatedly reset the body, thus removing any negative effects of the day whatsoever, including fatigue

-most people only eat her cooking when in need of healing, but the family eats them a pretty decent amount. this probably partially nullifies the effects of aging, oxygen combustion, and other natural processes accelerating the body towards death

-they’re all in pique condition all the time and are healing even the smallest things

-even the family doesn’t eat her arepas all the time, though

-except bruno

-bruno only eats julieta’s leftover healing food, which explains why living with rats and only eating bread never gets him sick and why, at 50, he’s so agile, looks rather young, and is strong enough to bash his head through a sturdy ass magical wall

-bruno will probably have the longest lifespan bc of how long his diet consisted of only magical healing arepas and nothing else

hey yall. this is probably gonna be one of the last posts about this, since im running out of time. because of @punkitt-is-here's super awesome kind reblog, i managed to make about 500 dollars, bringing me up to 1500, but after that things have slowed down to nearly nothing again. thank you to everyone that has donated, i appreciate it more than you could know, and thank you to the handful of famous people who reblogged and gave me a shitload of exposure.

im not sure if making 500 dollars in the next 2 months is going to be like.. possible. and after all the research ive been doing, im honestly not completely confident that 2000 dollars is going to be enough. im hoping that ill be able to pay for a few months of rent at once, so that im more likely to be able to get a place without already having a job in abq. so right now, my goal is basically "crowdfund as much as i possibly can so i dont have to live on the streets"

im hoping for a miracle right now. maybe, under the right circumstances, that could be you. maybe you just got paid and you dont have anything to use the paycheck on, maybe you have a bunch of savings that you could spare a portion of, i dont know, but god, i could really use as much kindness as i can find right now.

i got bored (<-lying) so i edited the static undercover scenes but with the prisoners' colors!

(warning for potential eyestrain, bc some of them have really intense colors but i did tried to tone it down a bit)
