Today, I finally realized something.
A lot of my family member's name is just a variant of the name "Louis".
It dated back from 1837, when Percival Chasterell,my fifth great-grandfather, named one of his sons Alois. Alois was born after Claus II, who was named after my sixth great-grandfather, Claus Chasterell.
And then, there's great-aunt Louisa, grandfather Alois II, great grandfather Aloysius, great-uncle Louis, cousin Lutz, aunt Mary Lou (yes, Lou is a variant of Louis), niece Louella, and of course, me, myself and I. Aloisia Chasterell.
It makes me wonder, you know? Why is there more people named after variants of Louis than people named after sixth great-grandfather Claus? He was a famous poet, playwright, and actor.. and yet there's only two people in his family named after another variant of his name: Claus II, and my sibling Claude.
I mean, Louis is a great name. It means 'famous warrior' or 'famous in battle'. But who is this Louis, or Alois, or whoever their name is, and what did they do to have more Chasterells named after them than Claus?
Sorry for being inactive, anyway here's some lovers from the regency era :>
(their clothes are probably not very historically accurate, but eh)
(Background textures are from ibis paint)
Antonio from Identity V, but he's tiny (and not very accurate to the in-game version XD)
(He's literally the reason I started playing idv and I love him very much)
Early 19th century lady :3
No problem!
Can we talk about THE GUITAR PIECES OF PAGANINI. Jisus, I can’t stop feeling like they’re so underrated, I mean- Listen, I’’m never romantic about music because of personal stuff, but damn… ‘Romanza’. ROMANZA. I feel like seeing a yard of just herb and butterflies flying around. It’s beautiful. And ‘Grand Sonata’ feels pretty nostalgic (maybe because my country took it to make a kids melody…. yikes). It’s just a safe comfort place when I listen to it. And not gonna imagine how GOOD could be the guitar piece he dedicated to Germi…
“I saw then how I had changed. I did not mind anymore that I lost when we raced and I lost when we swam out to the rocks and I lost when we tossed spears or skipped stones. For who can be ashamed to lose to such beauty?”

It's been a long time since I drew nicc.. and I've never post any drawing of him in tumblr.. so here's the drawing

New short story go yeet–
23rd of April, 1920
Louisette was busy with her work. She rereads her handwritten script and crossed some parts here and there.
"Ah, dear lord! Why on earth I made so many mistakes in just one paragraph?! And I hadn't started on describing the clothes.. where can I found something, or anything about late 1820s men's fashion?!"
As someone who was a history major, Louisette based a lot of her novels on history. Her work in progress, When Sunflowers change to Green Carnations, is a novel about a widower who fell in love with his confidant, set in the late 1820s, 1829 to be exact.
And it was hard to find information about the fashion of that time; she only knew that the early 19th century fashion was different from the other decades. She heard some false information about how ladies of that time didn't wore their stays anymore, for the waistline of dresses is right under the bust, and that was it.
Louisette decided that she'll rest for a while, and called Cosette.
"Hello, may I talk to Madame Pellerin–"
"Louisette! Oh my goodness, do you know what day is today?"
"What day is it?" Louisette asked, puzzled.
"It's Aurelie's 5th birthday! Come here, Aurelie, talk to Madame Guillaume!"
Aurelie spoke to the phone. "Hello, Madame Guillaume."
"Hello, Aurelie. Happy birthday to you."
"And what do we say, sweetie?"
"Merci beaucoup!"
"Good. Now, can you go to another room for a while, Aurelie? I want to talk to my friend."
Louisette was curious. Why did she asked Aurelie to leave her alone? Is she going to tell her something?
"So, Louisette, how you're doing?"
"Good."
"How's your novel going?"
"Still stuck on a paragraph. Don't know what men in the late 1820s wore."
"A friend of mine has some fashion plates from late 18th century to 1910s. I'll ask his permission for you to borrow them."
"Thank you–"
"But on one condition," said Cosette. "I'm invited to someone's wedding next Friday, I think his name's Henry something.. He told me to bring a date, and I don't know who to bring, so.. Will you go with me? As a friend?"
Louisette thinks about it for a while. "I.. guess?"
Cosette giggled. "Alright, then. Would you like to stay here for some time before the day?"
"I think I'm going to go to your house on Monday."
"See you later!"

A little doodle of Achilles and Patroclus (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Look, I've read the Hannibal novels as well but can book fans please stop purposefully finding posts by the series fans to derail it and stuff? Like, we get it, the books and the series have different "endgame" ships but.. the term "ship and let ship" exists for a damn reason. And I know that it sucks, the way different aspects of Clarice's character gets split to multiple characters, but A) it was because of copyright issues, and B) you should've directed the anger at the producer instead of the fandom. Also why tf do you guys want to harass the shippers of a mlm ship so bad it's starting to feel a bit iffy.
