New writing rule: Checkov’s friend
If you introduce a named character with a relationship to a protagonist, their character arc must be resolved in a way that feels reasonable and satisfying
Which is to say: they can’t just dissappear when they’re no longer a convenient plot device
You're just a mammal. Let yourself act like it. Your brain needs enrichment. Your body needs rest. You feel hunger and grow hair. You need to pack bond with other sentient things so you don't become unsocialized and neurotic. You are biologically inclined to seek dopamine and become sick when chronically stressed. "Hedonism" is made up to place moral value on taking pleasure in sensory experiences. I am telling you that if you don't let yourself be a fucking mammal, as you were made, you will suffer and go insane. No grindset no diets no trying to be above your drive for connection. Pursue what makes you feel good and practice radial rejection of the constructs meant to turn you into a machine. You're a mammal.
Okay, guys, I’m an idiot. When I was a kid, I thought Zuko got shot in the stomach with lightening and was really confused about how he survived, but I was soooo wrong.
He survived because he DID redirect it. He catches it with his left hand
But he had to jump to catch it so he isn’t grounded. He has to try to direct lightening around his heart into his stomach while he’s falling.
And as soon as he hits the ground, he directs it out his right hand
I always wondered why his burn scar didn’t look any different before and after Katara healed him. Then I realized, the visible superficial burn wasn’t the issue. The whole time he was falling, he was trying to control lightening that was literally burning him from the inside out.
Damn, son, that’s fucking metal.
Elon Musk lands on Mars and steps out of his spaceship
“It’s a small step for a man, but a giant leap for mankind,” says ground control officer and cuts off all communications.
every time i see discourse about pedohysteria amidst a trans genocide i think about that news article from 2016 about the mexican immigrant who voted for trump because trump said he’d get rid of all the “bad hombres” from mexico, only to be deported himself because it turns out what trump was really saying was that he wanted to deport all mexicans, not just “the bad ones”
not just him, but there were many other examples too, like white conservatives who have mexican immigrant friends and family or people in the community important to them who were mexican immigrants, and they voted for trump because they thought trump was just getting rid of “criminals”, and then they regret it when their families and communities get torn apart by deportations of their spouses, their friends, their favourite restaurant owners, etc.
anyways, i hope young queers, trans people esp, understand that when conservatives talk about “pedophiles” and “groomers”, they’re not talking about actual child abusers, they’re talking about all queer people. they’re talking about all trans people. it’s why in florida, they’re categorizing “drag” as a child sex crime, and making sex crimes against children punishable by death. they’re trying to execute every single trans person, and that’s just the rhetoric they’re using
so stop buying into the pedohysteria. it’s easy to think “well, i’m not a pedophile, so i’ll be safe” when you don’t realize that in the eyes of conservatives, every single queer person is a pedophile and deserves death, and contributing to their rhetoric by trying to figure out which trans woman is a pedophile is just accelerating your own march to the gallows
I’m really glad that KC Green’s work is being more widely recognized after the whole “This is not fine” comic came out.
He’s been in the comic making game for a really long time and he has…a bit of a knack for creating things that are used as reaction images and never credited back to him.
He’s a really cool guy and a great artist and I HIGHLY recommend following his work.

I keep seeing this so I feel it needs to be said: trying to ship Wednesday Addams with other characters based on what's "healthy" or "toxic" is just...so absurdly ridiculous.
Wednesday is not the "iconic goth girl aesthetic uwu." She's not just odd, quirky representation for people who aren't accepted based on outward appearances.
SHE IS LITERALLY DOWN FOR TORTURE. AT ANY GIVEN TIME.
SHE IS SELFISH, OBSESSIVE, JUDGMENTAL, AND DISMISSIVE.
SHE WILL STAB YOU AND THEN LICK THE KNIFE. FOR FUN.
Our girl does not represent society's concept of "healthy."
She's an outcast among outcasts not just because of her personality but also because she truly and genuinely loves fucked up shit and initially doesn't care about socializing with others that have different interests than she does. More importantly, Wednesday's character arc this season has nothing to do with going from toxic behaviors to healthy ones but instead has everything to do with admitting to and understanding her own emotions. And that's regardless of how healthy those emotions are or where they come from.
Wednesday changes a bit over time, but she never once does so in interest of becoming healthier or being a better person. In fact, multiple times she admits to being pretty toxic herself and was totally fine with that until it started backfiring on her. Wednesday has an obvious code of fairness and reciprocity that dictates how she regards and interacts with people, which shows she does sincerely care about others in her own way, but we also know that she has absolutely no problem treating those she cares about poorly as long as she feels it's justified. We see this with Enid, Tyler, Xavier, Thing, and (to a lesser extent) Eugene. But this only becomes an issue when she starts to feel lonely, or guilty when her impulsiveness results in others getting hurt.
So with regards to shipping, Wednesday finally hugging Enid and eventually kissing Tyler are not significant because they represent something "healthy" or "toxic." They're significant because in both these moments, Wednesday is fully aware of how she feels and what she wants when it comes to two of the few non-family members in the show who seem to truly accept her, toxicity and all.
Arguing that one option is better than the other because it's healthier or less toxic makes no sense with Wednesday. Like sure, ship whatever and whoever y'all want, but at least understand the characters.
