Yknow what I like about Ninjago is that you could headcannon the ninja as any Ethnicity/Race/Skin tone and they wouldn’t be considered invalid.

Like if you told me a headcannon that Zane is a pale, White, Russian man I would be like “yeah I see it” but if you told me he was deep-toned (high melanin), black man with Russian blood is be like “yeah that also makes sense)

Personal headcannons (it’s okay you can disagree, I’ve had my fair share of disagreement so do you):

Kai:

Asian, Japanese and/or Chinese

Warm toned Fair-medium skin

Medium brown or golden eyes

Nya:

Asian, Japanese and/or Chinese

Neutral-warm toned fair skin

Medium brown or golden eyes

Lloyd:

Asian, Japanese (maybe some English blood?)

Neutral toned fair

Green eyes (emerald or forest green)

Jay:

White/Caucasian, American, Scottish, and/or Irish, maybe he could also be Canadian

Cool-neutral pale-fair skin

Blue eyes (electric blue) or Grey eyes (maybe a mix of both)

Cole:

White, Hispanic, Latino, European, could be from Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal), or could be from central-South America (Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Columbia, Argentina, etc.) or could also be North American as well.

Neutral tone medium-dark skin (default: Neutral pale-fair, and/or fair-medium)

Green, Grey, Medium Brown, or Hazel eyes

Zane:

White (default headcannon: Black), Russian, default: African blood, possibly a mix with Russian), Canadian

Cool toned pale skin (default: cool toned deep)

Blue eyes (icy blue)

Either way, all headcannons are valid!!!!!!!

The legends themselves!

On March 25th 2012, the same day my sister turned 19, Edd Gould passed away to Lukemia, a cancer in white blood cells. He was a fun, whimsy comic artist who’d detail the shenanigans the fictional version he and his friends would endure. He was 23 years old.

I was 10 years old when he passed. I’m now 23 years old, and it’s incredibly unfathomable how long it’s been since his passing. I used to look forward to coming home and watching his eddisodes. I still remember always checking if Space face would finish. He was, and still is the reason I fell in love with animation (especially indie) and comic art.

Rest in Solace Edd Gould. Just know your world is spinning, and we miss you everyday ❤️

When I was in middle school I wrote a fanfic about how Puff was actually a Martian and how his parents sent him off to earth when he was a baby and when he found out years later he went back to his home planet and sacrificed his life to save his kin from an evil colonizer and named his band after his sacrifice.

Which would’ve been way cooler lore, but nah Ray had to make him a stoner guy 🙄
