David Schillo joined the United States Army after he earned his master's degree and served the country honorably for over four years.

David advanced to the United States Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning Georgia and became a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Officer/Lieutenant.

David Schillo is a science teacher with a degree in Public Health Promotion and an M.S. in Exercise Science who is passionate about helping special needs students who suffer from developmental disabilities. David Schillo volunteered at the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Camp entitled Camp Carefree from 2008 to 2012 working as a camp counselor and is currently learning American Sign Language (ASL).
