Okay so I can’t get this scene out of my head of Schneeplestein giving Jameson a check up to finally find out why his voice doesn’t work, Schneep asking all these questions and JJ having to practically play charades because Schneep doesn’t know BSL. For example, Schneep is asking JJ if he thinks he was just created without a voice and JJ starts to sign, but Schneep interrupts him, “JJ, you know I can’t sign,” and JJ heaves a sigh of frustration and starts to mime answers to Schneep’s questions. Schneep asks if JJ wants to write down his responses, but JJ shakes his head, he thinks this is more entertaining. The whole scene is just Schneep and JJ’s check up shenanigans, and a fun bonding time for the two. <3

After a while, Schneep started to narrow down the specifics of his questions.

“Does you voice feel hoarse vhen you try to use it?”

JJ eventually got across that he’s never tried to use it.

Schneep marked something on his clipboard. “Can you try for me?”

JJ shook his head.

Puzzled, Schneep asked, “Vhy not?”

JJ took a shaky breath and pointed to his Adam’s apple. Or, at least where it should be.

Schneeplestein narrowed his eyes and leaned in closer to JJ’s throat to get a better view, and sure enough, there was almost no bump where the top of his voice box should protrude. Schneep set down his clipboard and pressed against the spot of the mute ego’s missing Adam’s apple, JJ immediately recoiled and placed a protective hand against his neck. He gazed up at the doctor with furrowed brows and a pained expression, guilt shining in his eyes.

Schneep didn’t need Jameson to do anything for him to understand what happened.

“How long have you known about this?”

JJ averted his gaze, but the flush coloring his cheeks told Schneep all he needed to know.

“I see. Vell, vhy didn’t you vant to tell me about this?”

JJ, poised in his typical impeccable posture, tensed his shoulders and glanced at the clipboard. Schneep, seeing this, gave the clipboard and a pen to JJ.

The mute ego takes the pen and writes his answer in a flowing, beautifully styled cursive.

Before I even knew my name, I knew him. He was the only thing I knew. He was my world. His laugh sent ice down my spine, his voice clawed at my ears, his smile raked across my eyes. He carved into me like I was a pumpkin on Halloween. I can still hear my screams echoing in my head, sometimes I doubt those screams were ever mine. It lasted for an eternity, my God, Hendrik, it lasted forever. But eventually I stopped screaming, I stopped making noise, yet the pain never ceased. I didn’t notice at first, maybe he grew bored of my incessant noise, but he shredded my vocal cords into ribbons and cut my voice box out of my throat. How he was able to take my voice, but not my breath is horrific, but once he did this, he was gone. Then I was gone. Placed in another reality. This reality. That is why I didn’t want to tell you about this. My good friend, I didn’t want you to worry about me more than you already do. It’s done, it can’t be reversed. All my wounds have healed, except this one. There is nothing a good doctor such as yourself can do to make this right. You can’t fix me. I’m happy here, with you and the others. Please, just let me be.

Halfway through writing his note, JJ’s eyes started tearing up and his hand began trembling, nonetheless he finished it and returned the clipboard to Schneeplestein.

As soon as the clipboard left JJ’s hand, he stood up and darted out of the doctor’s office. Schneep, sensing he needed to be left alone, let JJ leave without a word.

The doctor picked up JJ’s note, and as he read deeper into it, anguish crept onto his face.

How had Jameson kept this to himself all this time?

Schneeplestein walked over to the door and peered outside where he saw JJ slumped against the far wall, he could hear a faint noise coming from his direction. Schneep, curious as to what the noise could be, stepped out of his office and started towards JJ. As he grew closer to him, he saw that the soft noise was JJ. He was crying. It was probably the loudest sound JJ had even made in a long time. Quiet, quivering gasps of breath, and trembling shoulders. Upon seeing this, Schneep rushed over to JJ’s side and sat down next to him. JJ didn’t seem to notice. The doctor had never been one to comfort others. That job was always taken by Jack, or Marvin, or JJ. Yet Schneep placed a tender arm around JJ, determined to help him feel better. Though the mute ego’s shoulders relaxed, he was quietly sobbing even harder than before. Schneep opened his mouth to speak.

“Vere you ever going to tell us about this?”

JJ quickly shook his head no and buried his face in his hands. The doctor gave a heartbroken sigh.

“I’m here to support you, okay, JJ?”

Jameson lifted his gaze to meet Schneeplestein’s.

“Ve all are.”

Without warning, JJ wrapped his arms around Schneep in a tight hug. Schneep tensed, not used to being touched, much less hugged. Wanting to console JJ as much as he could, he gingerly returned the gesture.

JJ parted first. His sobbing had gone down considerably to a silent sniffle.

He smiled at Schneeplestein and mouthed two words.

Thank you.

Schneep drew a short breath and gave a small smile back, “Let’s get you home.”

“Do you want to talk about it?” Chase ventured as Jameson clutched the fabric of his nightshirt and blinked away the last vestiges of sleep.

“It...” He floundered, helplessly throwing his free hand. “Antisepticeye. What more can I possibly say? How long is he going to hold this power over me? How long am I going to be...plagued with his presence?”

“I -- I don’t know, Jem, but it’s us against him. We’re right here with you, we’re stronger together. And...you have your God with you too, don’t you? Every minute of every day? Isn’t that what you believe?”

“...Yes. Always.” With a slow exhale, the shudder in his shoulders eased. “That madcap holds no power to ever change that.”

Either way, I’m excited to show you guys :D I’ve been planning this for a while now, and it’s nice to finally have another actiony part in this AU. And, yeah, I have nothing else to say. Short author’s note. Hope you guys enjoy ^-^

Chase woke up to someone shaking him. He rolled over, and looked up to see Henrik. “Hhrm?”

“Ah, sorry to wake you,” Henrik said apologetically. “But we are about to start planning. I thought you would want to join.”

“Oh. Right.” Chase sat up, and looked around. It didn’t really feel like any time had passed since he’d laid down to take a nap. And it didn’t look like it had, either, since the windows to the inn room were thick, blocking out all light when they were drawn. “Of course.”

“Great. We are meeting in the other room. Follow me.”

They were planning in another inn room, which was rather small with about fifteen people crowded into it. By the time Henrik and Chase arrived, all available sitting areas had been taken, including on top of the beds. Chase closed the door behind him as they entered, and awkwardly leaned against the nearby wall.

Times Up

Description: Happy 4th year anniversary to KJSE :)

(TW: for blood, existential dread, character death, a knife, possession, ticking of a clock)

Tick. Tock.

The doctors eyes blinked in synchronization with the clock on the wall, it was the only way to keep calm. To think straight. The man before him paced and hurried around, up and down. Up and down. It would be on this date, wouldn’t it? The moment his own internal clock decided to finally stop.

Tick  And tock.

“His body doesn’t belong to you.” Schneep said quietly, but it was enough. Black soulless eyes met his own, the mustache quivered, lips forming a terrible smile. The voice that came out, forced, hoarse, unnatural, grated into the doctor’s ears, “Oh. I know. Poor poor puppet. Did you know how hard he fought me doctor. For a man who’s mute this one bites~. His body might not be mine. But he’ll do. Of course, none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you~.”

A pause. As the hands on the clock moved closer to his inevitable doom. His knuckles were white as he gritted his teeth, "You know as vell as I do, glitch. That ….what happened to Jack was your fault. Not mine. Yours.” A snarl as he felt the air whizz beside him, an inhuman claw nearly missing his face by inches as Anti only chuckled, calming down. The eyes turned what would be a normal shade of blue. But Schneep knew better, it hardly showed what little was left of the man he had gotten involved. Now that…..was his fault.

Tick. Tock.

Like Jack before him, Jameson had no idea what he was dealing with when he got here. Neither did Schneep, for that matter, perhaps…..No. Marvin hardly knew either. He heard the tsking sound from the monsters mouth, mixing with the sound of the clock It ticked ever longer. He no longer felt warm, it took a moment to realize the knife was in his heart. Blood blossomed as it beat slower and slower, quickly and quietly failing him, as the man chuckled above him, “What does matter doc, is that you’ve been a thorn in my side for far too l҉̙̙̬͎̥o̡̠͓̦͎ng. And right now? Your times up.”

He felt like he was floating, an odd sense of peace coming over him as he drew breath after breath, a star lighting up in his mind as he begged for the man in the bed in the other room not to hate him. To wake up. To remember he was good. He was good. And with that final thought, the doctors heart finally stopped. The man above him sighed, shaking his head once, and walking out the door, as the clock struck 12, and time marched on.

Tick. Tock.

(A/N: So, originally I wrote this when my power was out on July 22nd, during which I decided when my power returned on the 24th, I would make this an anniversary writing, since KJSE’s 4th anniversary was coming soon, and I felt like it was at least appropriate to wait a while after FIFTEEN MONTHS given the context of the matter and the state of the fandom concerning the egos. In any case, I’m writing all this on the 24th, so who knows, something might’ve happened involving the egos, and if this in anyway is a jinx in that case, I’m sorry???? Oops??? Oh, my boys! Oh, my new comfort ship!

-JJ will drag Dark away from paperwork to cuddle. 

- They’ll go into the library and pick a book to read together. 

- JJ will help Dark with paperwork if it gets to be too much. 

- I often use Anti as the bad guy while writing this ship because it really gives it a purpose. Dark saw JJ tied to the ceiling with puppet strings. He was a broken moustached man. So Dark saved him. Something he couldn’t do for someone else before.

- JJ followed Dark around for the first week trying to be helpful. Dark got upset and yelled at him. 

- He went and apologized to JJ after nearly all the Iplier egos yelled at him too. 

- Dark slowly fell in love with JJ when he spent time with the other ego. 

- JJ fell in love with Dark the moment he woke up in Darks arms as he walked him to the doctors. 

- Dark will get anything for JJ. JJ doesn’t want much but cuddles and love and the occasional chocolate. 

- JJ made quick friends with the Iplier egos. 

They will cuddle whenever they can. 

- Dark has a reputation and needs to uphold it but if JJ walks into a meeting asking him where he put his book Dark will drop everything to get it himself. 

- Dark often has problems with his back to the point of now being able to move in the morning. JJ gets him tea and whatever he wants.

- JJ sometimes helps Dark spy on people. 

- They would get married in a small reception with the Iplier egos. 

- JJ loves Dark Chica. Dark thought he would be scared of her but JJ loves her. 

- They go for walks in the woods that surround the mansion. 

- JJ isn’t allowed out of the house without Dark or Wilford because Anti might hurt him. 

- Wilford and JJ are friends and like to talk about the past and dealing with Dark. 

- Dark refuses to talk about the past but sometimes he slips up and mentions a memory. JJ tries not to get him to talk more about it. 

- The Iplier egos have found Dark doing paperwork in his office with JJ asleep on his lap. 

- They have a smilier grey tone/aura. Dark’s is more powerful and controlling. JJ’s aura makes people relaxed. 

- Dark only really knows how to flirt like in the movies. With a flower and chocolates. He gets flustered though and JJ finds it adorable.
