WOF marriage hcs:
Icewings: Marriage is absolutely expected and societally pressured for everyone, Marriage for political reasons is common, Monogamy is a must, children are raised by both parents
Skywings: Marriage is mostly for the rich, monogamy is common, children are often raised by only one parent
Sandwings: Marriage is for political leaders (Royal Family & Nomadic group leaders) only, Marriage for political reasons is the rule, polyamory is common, children are raised by whoever wants them
Mudwings: No concept of marriage, romance is stigmatized, Children raised by the fathers sib group and the community as a whole
Seawings: Marriage is for whoever wants to get married, Political Marriages are common amongst the rich, equal split between monogamy and polyamory, children are raised by parents and extended family
Rainwings: No concept of marriage, polyamory is common, children are raised by the community as a whole
Nightwings: Marriage is for spiritual reasons, Marriages for the right kind of fate or power are common, monogamy is very common, children are raised by both parents
This is an old OC of mine who actually has a name. I'm pretty sure mangrove was a rain wing name but there is considerable overlap between the two tribes loose territory that I think works as a mudding name too.
She's a lil darker than I expected, I think I need to counter the coloring with some lighter horns, but I like her a lot
Since she's an old OC, of course she has a tragic backstory.
She got lost as a dragonet playing with her siblings and ended up floating down stream. Unable to find her way back home, she started following other older sib groups. Not always welcome but eager to learn, she developed a generally friendly repour with the population around her. As she grew she started to wonder about her lost family from years ago and started traveling up stream to find them.
I want to use her development to explore the mudding cast system. If not by blood, then how do they decide who is more important or who should be allowed in the palace? What are their jobs, how do they grow crops, canals????
This will be one of the many types of merch that I will be selling at the mini-festival dedicated to WoF in Moscow. Drawn with pencils and paints (background and shiny starscales).
Found this on facebook but reposting to SAVE A LIFE.
Or at least some of y’all’s GPAs.
You’re welcome.
Gharial (Gavialis gangeticus), female, family Gavialidae, found in rivers in India and surrounding countries
CRITICALLY ENDANGERED.
This animal is now found in only 2% or its historical native range.

Had to draw this.
Due to the three tribes distinct genetic traits, some features override others. Appearing mostly Rainwing, Tuna is lanky and colorful. Both Sandwing and Seawing attributes made them more spiny and added a sail which snakes down their back, stopping before the tail. They have limited color changeing abilities, almost all dark colors they change to are more blue than black, and lighter colors always carry a yellow tint.
As for glow scales
They aren't specific to designated scales like they are for Seawings. Rather certain scales glow the brightest and are surrounded by a smattering of smaller and seemingly randomly placed scales.
@cindle-the-candle
I hope you enjoy them. I made them a little gender ambiguous so you could choose. Feel free to change any details you like.
Hypothetically, according to wof and real life stuff, you would mix a sandwing, rainwing, and sea wing, and name it tuna. or even like- any of those 3 mixed- A tun can be a fish or a catcus fruit. Idk, 1:32 am thoughts ig...I'm claiming tuna, the sea-rain-sand hybrid as my oc now. dunno if i should draw em (Considering i'm not great at dragons) but y'know, maybe.
my biggest creative passion in life is ‘the project I’m not supposed to be working on right now’
