Needed:
đąchosen plant to communicate with
đąitem symbolic of the plant (a cutting, store bought dried version of the same herb, or drawn symbol).
đąjournal to document
đąoptional: any dream boosting items or practices you wish to add
If you are comfortable with dream work, this is a way you can receive messages from a specific plant. This is the method I personally have experience with and have done. If possible, I would recommend having a trimming of some kind from the plant you wish to communicate with, but this is not the only way.Â
For example, if I wanted to receive messages from my Rosemary plant, I would save a bit of her leaves (dry for repeated use) for this purpose. If you have a plant but canât take any cuttings away for whatever reason, you could get some from the store or kitchen cabinet if itâs a cooking herb pant (place a little before your plant and keep the rest for your work) or even create a sigil that simply represents your plant and draw it on a piece of paper (if I do this, I like to âshowâ my plant the sigil in my minds eye at some point just to further tie the plant to the symbol). Tell the plant at some point that you wish to speak with it in your dreams tonight, donât worry too much if it got the message.
Before going to bed, place the cutting/symbol inside your pillow case. I also have a bedside altar space and I place some cuttings on that as well for good measure. If you take any other measures to induce a dream (consume a substance, smell a dream inducing herb or oil, meditate before bed, etc) do so. Any extra dream boosts are welcome, I prefer to do a specific meditation I created for meeting/speaking with spirits in dreams.
đTip: Keep a journal and a writing utensil near the bed if you wish to record any messages before you forget them when you wake!đ
Go to sleep and be open to how a plant may communicate with you.
Some notes on dream communication: what to expect
đąFor starters, they may not show up at all. You extended an invitation to meet up with you in the dream world and they have a right not to attend.
đąThey may literally just âappearâ in your dreams and thatâs it. Or is it? Sometimes you are dreaming away and just see your plant (or something that looks like it but bigger/brighter/fuller) chilling in a pot set on a counter top. Nothing else happens, itâs just there. If you can in the moment (for lucid dreamers) try to think about when it appeared and why. For example, my oregano plant suddenly appeared during a nightmare I had. It said next to nothing but I just felt its presence and suddenly became aware I was only dreaming (which made me feel 100% better and in control of the nightmare). In this case, while nothing was said, I received the message of âhey youâre dreaming, youâre fine.â
đąThey may have a bigger or more specific message to you, and itâs up to you to try to interpret it to the best of your abilities. Messages are not always clear in the slightest.Â
đąThe message may have nothing to do with what you wanted to talk about. Did you just dream of your tropical humidity loving plant in a scarce desert? Maybe the message is designed to tell you something about the level of care it is receiving. Donât expect every message to be about your spiritual enlightenment, sometimes a plant really just wants an opportunity to say âhey I need more/less of *insert need here*.â Â
đąAs with any communication with plants, remember that they can refuse to communicate with you. They may simply not wish to communicate now, but perhaps another time or with a different method. They could be indifferent towards you and would prefer not to communicate (IMO, plants arenât big on politely sitting through a conversation they have no desire to be in). There is always the chance that (get this) they just donât like communicating with humans (either in this specific manner or not at all).
đąYou may have to try over and over again to get a message. If a plant does not show one time, it may agree at another time. Or perhaps it has agreed, but you just arenât getting the message. Practice, practice, practice.Â
TroubleshootingÂ
So this method isnât working but you want to continue to give it a try.Â
đąAre you a decent dreamer? Do you remember your dreams semi consistently? If not, it may be a good idea to develop your dream recall skills first or even learning to lucid dream (you donât have to know how to lucid dream but I personally found it helpful). You could be receiving messages nightly and fail to remember them, it happens!Â
đąYou are comfortable working in dreams but it just isnât happening? This leads me to one of the most important aspects of troubleshooting this type of communication; your plant choice. Â If youâve already bonded with a particular plant, this is an ideal one to start with. Itâs good to pick a plant whose energy you know and perhaps they will be more willing to meet you in your dreams if they know you better. I wouldnât recommend starting with a new plant or any plant you just donât bond with very well. Another benefit to selecting a plant you bond with is that they are more likely to be willing to practice with you. You may have to try (and fail) at dreaming multiple times.Â
Another tip for choosing a plant to work with you in dreams is to pick a plant that is associated with dreaming. Plenty of plants not associated with dreams can and will communicate just fine (especially if youâve bonded), but considering the properties of the plant may help you connect easier.
Think you are dreaming but struggling to remember it? Try working with Rosemary, as smelling it during the night (if you used a cutting) will naturally help you remember your dream.
You dream but arenât receiving messages at all? Try dandelion, mugwort, or lavender.Â
Work with a plant that likes dream work, and be sure that you like it as well. If you just donât enjoy or canât do dream work at all, that is okay! There are other ways to communicate.Â
But if youâre interested in dreaming with plants, have patience. Â

How to read candle flames Â
High steady flame: yesÂ
Low steady flame: noÂ
Dancing flame: reground and put more focus towards your spell/questionÂ
Violent flickering flame: strong no do not reattempt this spell or ask this question againÂ
Sputtering crackling flame: there is a more complex answer than a yes or no it could mean maybe or possiblyÂ
Dual flame: thinking, wait for the answerÂ
Left leaning: yesÂ
Right leaning: noÂ
Will not light: try another timeÂ
Will not go out: you are not done with your spell or question yetÂ
Candle goes out before you are done: wait now is not the right time Â
These could apply to any earthly god or goddess really, so feel free to borrow any ideas that speak to you! And please tell me about how you worship your deity, I'd love to know đđŞ˛
Going for daily, mindful walks. Sometimes I'll listen to music, other times I'll just listen to the world around me.
Wear a lot of greens and browns, as well as recycled and more sustainable fabrics (a lot of my clothes are also thrifted, and I try to avoid overconsumption)
Decorate my space with earthy colours, posters and pieces of the earth - I have crystals, bones, pressed flowers and even rocks and twigs in my room
Learn about nature and the world around me - I am a zoology student so my academic career is also a devotion to Mother Nature but I also learn about what animals I can see locally, I study when and where flowers bloom and how to tell when rain is coming etc
Reconnect with my more primal side - a significant part of my work with Mother Nature is reognising and accepting that humans are animals, and we behave as such; we cannot allow ourselves to become seperate from wilderness. To me, this involves connecting with my intuition and gut feelings, recognising my emotions and desires and working with them
Making and wearing daisy chains or flower crowns
Creating art inspired by the world around me and myself
Caring for animals (that includes other humans) when I can and it's safe: from helping a snail move across the path, to making sure a dying bird can rest peacefully, to giving food and money to the homeless
Loving myself, though it isn't always easy
Spending time outside with my hands in the dirt or streams, speaking with the trees and birds and listening to their replies
Psychometry is the ability to divine information about a person, place, or thing by touch. Itâs an incredibly useful skill to have in your arsenal, as Psychometry, in my opinion, is the starting place of many other psychic abilities, which can also be developed.
Psychometry can be used in a lot of different ways and in different situations- all of them utilizing touch in order to accomplish the goal.
As I have mentioned probably at least a dozen times before, we are a part of this flow of energy that resides in everything. Our ability to manipulate and gain information from that energy is key to basic magick, and to Psychometry.
As this energy flows in and around everything it gathers information. We have access to that information. By touching an object, you are creating a link between you and said object, connecting your energies and then allowing you to witness everything that object has witnessed (obviously with some practice).
Psychometry is, when used properly, the easiest way to gain information as a psychic, and will also help to develop your awareness in order to start experimenting with other abilities.Â
I have posted about this before in my Divination Intro post, so Iâll go ahead and just re-copy that bit of information.
Psychometry is best practiced in one of two ways.
Collect various, preferably older items, such as necklaces, pocket watches, other small antiques, wood, shells, etc. Place all of the items under a cloth or under a bowl and then shuffle them around, making sure that you shuffle long enough for you to have no way of knowing where each item is. You then place your hand over the object, fell its energy, and try and divine what the object is. Itâll take time, but your accuracy will vastly improve, and youâll find that other esoteric things come to you easily.
Find random objects such as old building bricks, signs, lampposts, antiques, etc. and place your hand on them. Close your eyes, and try to sense the object. See all of the memories that it houses within. Who did it belong to? What has it witnessed? Where did it come from? Eventually, youâll begin to gain an understanding of the objects around you even without needing to touch them and close your eyes. Then, eventually, youâll be able to divine a personâs past, present, and future using the same exact method, giving you yet another tool in your divinatory arsenal.
As always, I hope this helps. And, as always, keep in mind that this is my interpretation of this one ability. I do believe that psychometry is the best way to learn and develop your psychic abilities, as it is the most basic form of divination. You need no tools other than yourself, and that is another HUGE plus.Â

moon water can be used for blessings, enhancing spells or rituals, for promoting clarity or relaxation, in love magic, wealth/prosperity magic, to increase psychic awareness, and many other purposes! but by harnessing your moon water at different times, you can then incorporate the specific traits of that time/phase/zodiac period into your spell work.Â
â¨new moon water â¨
the new moon is associated with new beginnings, so use new moon water in spells or rituals focusing on things like new employment, new relationships, or new homes.Â
e.g. when moving into a new home, add a couple of tablespoons of new moon water to the water you would normally use to cleanse your house with!
â¨waxing moon water â¨
the waxing moon is the period in which the moon is growing in size, so use waxing moon water as a way to grow the strength of your spells. waxing moon water is also beneficial in spells to promote growth (of abilities, skill, or knowledge). the power of the waxing moon also increases the potency of fertility spells, wealth, luck, business and relationship spells Â
â¨full moon water â¨
the full moon is the point at which the moon is at its peak, so use full moon water for spells that require an extra push of energy. also use full moon water in spells to promote strength, love, protection, health, or use in spells to strengthen spiritual gifts and achieve your dreamsÂ
â¨waning moon water â¨
the waning moon is the period in which the moon is decreasing in size, so use waning moon water for all magic intended to remove things from your life; banishing spells to rid yourself of bad habits, toxic relationships, lingering diseases, weight loss, stress, addictions and negativityÂ
â¨dark moon water â¨
when justice is required and is not obtainable outside of your spell work, casting in the dark of the moon and adding dark moon water will help with any crosses, hexes or binding spells
â¨super moon water â¨
think of full moon water x1000000âŚâŚ when you need an EXTRA BIG KICK OF ENERGY for your spells, this guy has you coveredÂ
â¨lunar eclipse moon water â¨
the lunar eclipse signifies change, so when drastic change is required, the addition of lunar eclipse water draws on the phenomenal change shown during an eclipse, as the moon cycles through all of its stages in a single instance
â¨zodiac* moon water â¨
full moon water also takes on the energies of the zodiac sign the full moon is in. hereâs a brief rundown of those properties and/or what they can be used for:
1) full moon water in aries = couragous, positive energy; charging tools 2) full moon water in taurus = stable, earth, fertile energy 3) full moon water in gemini = positive charge, overcoming obstacles 4) full moon water in cancer = loving, maternal, protective energies 5) full moon water in leo = lucky, creative, successful energy; arts, politics 6) full moon water in virgo = practical energy; facilitates planning 7) full moon water in libra = persuasive, balancing energies; legal matters 8) full moon water in scorpio = psychic, spiritual, banishing energy 9) full moon water in sagittarius = transforming, spiritual energy; meditation 10) full moon water in capricorn = careers, politics, attaining material goods 11) full moon water in aquarius = innovative, inventive energies 12) full moon water in pisces = dreamy, psychic energy; astral projection
Hello! I will be making a recipe list sometime soon for those of you who want to spice up your offerings or routine, but for now, here are some easy daily offerings with a little correspondence with them, based on my personal experiences.
Apples: Apples represent a full harvest, abundance, and time spent with the ones you love. Perfect for those times when you want to recall memories youâve had with the spirit.
Oranges: Their vibrancy, attraction, and the smell all come together to represent a life lived to the fullest. I like to think of oranges as an innocent guilty pleasure, and something easy to obtain.
Grapes: elegance, refinement, perfection. I also tend to think of being waited on and treated like royalty. Definitely good for a spirit who needs some extra attention.
Fruit in General: great for sweetening up a spirit, or showing that you find them vibrant and kind. I like to give fruit and eat another piece of fruit with them, make it a little date of sorts.
Honey: another sweetening agent. Good for spirits who are feeling low on energy, as it lasts a while and holds lots of sugar, which I often associate with energy.
Bread: fun to make, and good to customize. Have a spirit who likes a bit of savoury element to their offerings? Try adding spices, maybe make garlic bread. Alternatively, you can bake sourdough, brioche, or even some sort of sweet bread. Itâs a fabulous offering for family and household spirits.
Milk and Honey: Definitely something I would offer nature spirits. Itâs wholesome, sweet, and very natural. Great for those moments when you want to indulge on them.
Chocolate Milk: An alternative to milk and honey. Something I think children spirits would enjoy.
Milks in General: This includes soy milk, almond milk, etc. I find these to be good offerings you donât leave out, for obvious reasons. Nice for rituals and for those moments when you want to be able to take it away after a little bit. Very filling and delicious.
Cookies, Cakes, and Sweet treats:
Water: I see this most often with ancestral spirits, or spirits you make offerings to on a daily basis. You can enchant it, charge it, make gem elixir with it. Thereâs a lot of magic in water anyway, though.
Wine/Alcohol: I find a lot of spirits request this, even though I canât give it to them. Maybe itâs because itâs a âspiritâ? *badum tssss* Seriously though, this is a fairly generic offering I see a lot.
Juice/Cider/Lemonade/etc: Similar to wine, but much more friendly to your wallet and to those of you who donât drink for whatever reason. I associate this with friendship for some reason.
Platters: Grab a couple of items from your fridge or pantry, and offer it together. I most often go for grapes, cheese, crackers, and juice. I just find it to be an easy, hassle free offering that doesnât cost much. Especially if you donât give it in large quantities, which is totally okay with this, and any other offering really. I like this one in particular because it offers a variety of tastes and energy sources.
Drawings: Pictures, especially things youâve made, are awesome offerings. It shows you care and are willing to spend time thinking about them. Just like any other relationship, meaningful gifts are awesome.
Photographs: Whether you see something cool outside or online, bringing them a picture that you think they would like is kind. It also shows that you know them pretty well, or are at least trying to.
Embroidery: I have a friend that makes beautiful embroidery pieces for the Hellenic Theoi, whom I worship in particular. Theyâre full of energy and patience and time, and I think that makes it a great offering. Not to mention theyâre just nice to look at.
Sigils: Make sigils for those special spirits in your life! They can be to promote energy, happiness, peace, etc. Ask them what they would like, and make it for them. Add it to their vessel if they have one, and you got a good start.
Natural Objects: Crystals, flowers, pretty leaves, jars of sand. Glasses of water from a stream, rocks, pieces of wood that fall from trees (ask permission before taking any of these things); all are awesome ideas. They have energy, and make them lasting offerings that you can recharge and fill beck up.
Music or Sound: Play a song for them. Play your own musical instrument. Sing, ring bells, clap around. Sound is vibration, and it is energy. It is also something we like. So why wouldnât most spirits? Ask them if they would like to hear music, or even a specific song.
Energy: Send them balls of energy, streams of it, etc. Help them connect to the moon or the Earth so they can use that as often as they need to. Basically, provide a source for them to live off of when not using your offerings. I do not recommend having them use you as an energy source, except on occasion and for a short period of time, because they can drain you, even without meaning to.
Trinkets: Find something cool at a store? Maybe you pick up a few bobbles at a thrift store. If you feel like they would want it, offer it! You never know what could make them smile, or keep them busy when youâre not home, and theyâre not out and about.
Anything You Think They Would Enjoy: Literally anything could be an offering. Find what works for you and what they like. Make special offerings once in a while, too, if possible. And remember, this is a relationship, not a mandatory thing. You are doing this together, and you chose to be a friend of this spirit, most of the time.
I hope this list will help some of you get started! Feel free to add on to this list, share your experiences, etc. Happy offering!
